Great store in a great mall. I love shopping at the Westfield Santa Anita mall and Journeys is one of the shops that kinda has it all. My husband and I came into this store and was immediately greeted by an employee by the name of Paul. We brought our special needs son to get back to school shoes and without hesitation he went above and beyond for our 12 year old autistic son. Made him feel comfortable and even gave him stickers. We feel very proud that there are still parents out there who teach there kids to have awareness and acceptance. This kid Paul needs to be commended and have a raise. So I didn't actually visit the location physically but I spoke with a really nice lady on the phone who basically gave me an entire lowdown/knowledge on Doc Martens as these were gonna be my first pair. She schooled me from the material, feel, all the way down to the sizing. I wish I remembered her name but if you're reading this, you know who you are! I'm a 10.5 in shoes and she saved me so much time because I was at a location that had a 10 and I didn't think it would fit me. She had told me 10s would fit if I'm a 10.5 as these are based off of European sizes which I had no idea! So with that knowledge, I went in, tried on the pair and bought them! 3/20/19, Wednesday afternoon at 12:45. I walk in the store to browse the shoe selection. After about 5 minutes of being in there I look around to see if anyone working was on the floor. Behind the register there he was. A younger African American kid with his face dug so far in to his phone, he didn't even notice me. After I greeted him, he looked up and then right back to his phone. No acknowledgment. It's cool, I spent $250.00 at footlocker next door. It seems like employees here will tell you anything to make a sale, even if it's not true. I wanted a pair or Dr. Martens that were sold exclusively on their online site, but dropped by the store to see if there was anything else I'd like. I tried on 2 pairs of shoes, two workers (one was named Jocelyn) kept complimenting the shoes so I'd just buy something and get out since I had trouble deciding for a bit. I decided to have them order the shoes I initially wanted online. Lie 1) "We accept returns." Lie 2) "We have to order the shoes from the Dr. Martens website, not the Journey's website." I was charged $140 in total, the shoes were around $120. I checked the Dr. Martens website to see the shoes I got because she said that's where she had to order them, they were $78 there. So why was I charged $40 more??? Called customer service, and they told me I could return the shoes to the store and get a refund and order the shoes for less through drmartens.com. Even he said he had no idea why I was overcharged. Took the shoes back as soon as I got them and asked the same girl who ordered them (Jocelyn) to return them like she said I could. She said that all they could do was exchange them. I asked if I could exchange them for another brand and she said it could only be Dr. Martens. I chose a pair of canvas boots to try on that were $79, and she had one of her employees bring out the $120 classic Docs to see if I'd like them so they wouldn't have to give me any money back. I got the $79 ones. Lol. She ran to the back probably talking trash with someone else about how they were basically giving me money. But I was lied to and felt robbed, so it didn't matter to me. Bottom line: go to any other place for your shoes. Please. These people know nothing about customer service and will tell you the boldest lies while looking you straight in the eye. read more

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I walked in looking for a pair of black high tops with minimal white. Maddison, who'm said was new to the store, immediately assisted me and made me feel like I was shopping with a close friend rather than being helped by an employee. Store selection isn't bad. I come here mostly to check whether anything I like is on sale. What makes this place slightly sketchy to me is this employee with greasy shoulder-length hair. A shoe store for the younger set. Mostly popular teen shoes, Rocket Dog, Puma, Converse. They exclusively carry the Converse High Top shoes with character designs, about $60. The sales guy wasn't too friendly when we walked in initially, but warmed up when we started to ask questions. They'll special order for you and ship for a charge. read more

I don't remember the name of the workers I spoke to yesterday but I do remember their faces. I went in to return a pair of vans I bought for a friend that she said they were hurting her. Okay. Didn't think it would be a problem. They inspect every inch of the shoes and said they can only exchange it because it's been worn. My friend wore it for a few hours then took it off because it was hurting her THAT bad. If they can exchange it, I'm pretty sure they can return it. They couldn't even give me store credit. I know they can make an exception since I work in retail. I mean, I guess they're not about customer service or they do not like to give refunds because with an exchange, it will go back into the store, so why not just accept the return? Came into the store looking to buy ugg moccasins and I tried them on and for some reason they were looking really wide and not fitting right I was taking my time trying them on since I was going to spend $100 on a pair of shoes some other employee can't remember her name was wearing a beanie was saying how she "hates when people walk and don't buy anything" you are an employee and it's your job to give customer service that made my decision easier and NOT purchase them went to Nordstrom tried them on and they fit WAY better turns out Journeys was trying to sell me a pair of "returned" Uggs! I visited the store on Monday 1/15/17 with the intent to buy 2 pairs of Doc Martens. When I walked in I saw 1 worker helping another customer and another worker at the counter. Neither one greeted my entrance in the store nor made any attempt to help me or say they would be with me in any amount of time. After about 10 minutes in the store still without anyone acknowledging my presence, I decided to take my business elsewhere. As I was leaving, I saw a 3rd worker behind the counter having a personal conversation with the 2nd coworker. Today I went to return some doc martins from the kids journeys. When I bought them I was told I could return them to any store. I stopped by the Arcadia store, and I was given the third degree as to why I was returning them. The clerk wanted to know why I didn't go to the original journey. I said this was on my way home from work but didn't know it required an explanation. He said it would be very complicated at kids shoes aren't in his computer, but the same shoes were sitting right behind me. He spent a great deal of time checking with someone behind a curtain. I felt like I had done something wrong, it was implied that I was doing something wrong. The shoes were inspected and reinspected I guess to make sure they weren't worn. I get it people do illegal things but not all people do. He tried dearly to make me exchange them, like this would make the whole thing easier for him. Honestly, I always shop at Nordstrom and this is exactly why I will continue too. Never once have they made me feel like I just stole a pair of shoes. read more
