Had to use this company for my military change of station move. They didn't show up during the time frame provided (11-2pm). I had to call four different times just to figure out when they were coming. They finally showed up over 2 hours late and then sat outside for 20 minutes eating chips and snacks before they started anything. It's been over 2 hours and it's past 6pm and they've only packed one room. Such a waste of my day. The one bright side is they are packing everything really well. read more

I can't even begin to express the incompetence and disregard for personal property that Allstate expressed when packing my household goods. First off, they left in a hurry before packing up my entire bathroom. Once my items arrived at my new location they were broken, smashed, wrinkled, creased, you name it, and they ruined it. Furniture, dress shirts, and artwork just to name a few. The unpacking company stated "whoa you're packing company was just lazy and incompetent." Moving to another city can be stressful and usually is even if you have hired a moving company to help with all of the packing and moving. All State Moving Systems in Poway really was the most stress free experience in moving that I have ever had. They were awesome. A very professional moving company. The driver was excellent. The moving company was dysfunctional. They told me to be there at 10am, driver was there at 10am, the helpers showed up at 3pm 5pm and 7pm. this was a bad experience, exhausting and for no reason to be stressful. Never again. I moved cross country for the first time from San Diego to upstate New York, and every step of the way United/Allstate moving systems was a helpful godsend. My experience started with John, my estimator who came to my apartment to give me a quote to move my belongings. He was prompt, professional and incredibly kind. He gave me a estimate that was in the mid range of what I had been receiving, but with the peace of mind that my goods would be properly cared for, and there would be no surprise charges. John even took time out of his personal day to help me pack my tv and pictures at no extra charge, which goes above and beyond what I could expect from any moving company. Kierstan, my moving coordinator was always available for questions and replied promptly to any calls I had. She helped me set up a date range for delivery that worked with my schedule, and was proactive about letting me know when she would be out of town for a wedding. I really appreciated having a consistent representative to be in contact with, which was not my experience with other moving companies. Frank, the moving foreman, arrived punctually on the agreed moving date, and he and his crew were wonderful in moving my belongings out of my tiny apartment. He was flexible in coordinating with my new landlord to move my belongings in without my presence due to a set back I had in getting to my new home in time. He also gave me his cell phone number to call with any questions or concerns. When I arrived to my new home, all of my belongings were delivered, set up, and well cared for. There was absolutely no damage, and all of my belongings were accounted for. The entire moving process could have been very stressful, as there are so many companies eager to take advantage of desperate people. This was not my experience with United, and I am so glad that I made the decision to research a reputable company. I can not recommend United moving enough! read more

This company and Ed are utter waste !!!!! They reached me cause of Angies list, and sent me a quote. When I started to ask questions and requested to send someone to give me the accurate cost of the move, Ed said " If you pay the reservation charge of $600, then we will send someone to check, and will refund the money of any changes" When I mentioned I have other movers come and give me the estimate without and upfront money. He was like, I do not compete with them and I do not have to do all these things to earn business. When I said in that case, I will think about this and call back. After this company was assigned to be my movers via TSP (I'm active duty Navy) they never called me to verify/schedule my requested pack out date and time. I received the email of who they were on July 11th. They're supposed to contact you within 3 business days. Well, after 10 calendar days went by without a word from them, I called the TSP directly (July 21st) and left a voicemail informing them of what was going on. They sent an email to Allstate, who called me the next morning, and gave excuses that they were busy and implied that I'm just impatient. Mind you, they finally called me on a Friday morning. I requested to pack out on that following Tuesday!!! I'm not going to wait all weekend and hope they show up Tuesday!!! Fast forward to Tuesday. They didn't call or show up Monday (the day prior to pack out) to do a survey like they implied they would. By 2:30 I hadn't received any phone calls of when they would show, so I called their office. The lady who answered sounded confused when I told her they never called me, neither that day not the day before. She contacted them, called me back, and informed me that they weren't going to show up for another 3 hours (around 5:30) because they "got too busy". WELL, IF THEY WOULD HAVE BOTHERED CONTACTING ME IN THE FIRST PLACE TO ACTUALLY SET UP MY PACK OUT AND SURVEY, I WOULDN'T BE UPSET. I HAD TO CONTACT *THEM* 4 DAYS PRIOR TO ME MOVING OUT OF TOWN. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ATROCIOUS (other than the lady who answered my call - Kristen? Or something that starts with a K, she was very nice). UPDATE: it is 7pm and NO ONE has shown up OR called me to indicate they would be late picking up my (less than) 50lbs of stuff. This is fucking outrageous and I have left a voicemail with the office that closed at 5 (30 minutes before the movers were supposed to be here) telling them they need to fix their shit. I also left a voicemail with the TSP (Deseret Forwarding International Co.) letting them know that no one showed up. I am LIVID. read more

If I had the option of NO stars, that's what it would be. Because they don't even deserve one star! I have NEVER used a moving company in all my years of moving. I finally chose to do so because a neighbor is their broker. We only went 1 exit from my old place to new. I was told they didn't need to wrap the furniture because it was such a short distance. Besides a long list of complaints, they managed to break the glass door on my buffet, ding up my headboard and break off a piece of my desk. The only mentioned about the desk because they couldn't hide that obvious break. I even paid extra insurance with a $250 deductible. They came back to me swearing that Kevin and Santiago noticed the desk was already broken when they took it out of the office. REALLY? Do I look that stupid to you...that I would leave a broken piece sitting next to the desk? They told me to contact a moving damage repair company who could assess my damages...at a cost of around $125. Are you EFFING kidding me? I was told my damages would not meet the $250. HA! The glass door alone costs over $180 without installation AND, you would have to match the glass. If not, you replace both! They didn't even move everything they were suppose to. All in all, the company chose to believe their movers and say F U to the customer!!! I have my own business and, am touted with having excellent customer service. They need to be schooled! read more

I called to get a quote for a cross-country move and made an appointment with Michael to come out and survey my house the following day at noon. He said someone would contact me that morning when they were on the way. I did not receive any calls that morning and followed up with a call to the office when it was noon and no one had arrived. I did not get an answer so I left a message. I called back a half hour later and a gentleman answered the phone and said he would check to see where Michael was and either Michael would contact me, or he would call me right back. It is now 5:40pm and I have not been contacted by anyone, nor has anyone arrived for my survey. What a waste of my time - especially when most companies are doing virtual surveys due to COVID-19. If this is the level of service they provide when trying to land a customer, I would not recommend hiring for such an important task as moving your belongings. read more

I moved from San Diego to Philly in January of 19. The set up and scheduling people were very good and kept track of what was happening. Packers and movers arrived on time and left on time. Delivered to PA on time. However, the packers boxed up a lot of stuff that I had indicated I didn't want moved and when they did the took my containers and just dumped them into larger boxes; the stuff was all mixed up and pieces of things were not kept together. Small boxes of nuts and bolts and boxes and cans of nails and screws were squashed and the contents were all over the place. We made a local move and I called United Van Lines as they were great for us in the past. Their local agent is Allstate. Everything was great through the entire process. They charge $95 hr for two guys and a truck. From the mult. quotes we received it was in the ballpark price of the competitors. Our movers were on time and were careful with all our stuff. They wrapped all our furniture and were very efficient. I would recommend Allstate to anyone, our experience was great. read more

I had a poor experience with Allstate. Allstate was hired to move my belongings into long term storage. I was told they would call me with an estimated time they would be at my place to pack my things, which they did not do. The day they were scheduled to come I had to call them to find out what time they would be there. So I patiently waited, and their "scheduled" time to be at my place passed...Allstate did not show. I called their office when the movers were a half hour late only to be told that the movers were running late (duh) the receptionist assured me they would be at my place within an hour. So, on a moving day (big day/lots of things to do), allstate caused me to waste an entire day. Thanks allstate. Poor customer service...what's the point of having a schedule? With that said, the movers did finally show up, and they were quite professional. Very meticulous and thorough. They showed great care for my belongings and were very fast. I would use Allstate again. Perhaps this was a bad day for them, and the scheduling error was an isolated event. read more

Flawless execution - I've moved several times across the country and this was one of, if not the, best experience I've had with a moving company. Nothing was damaged, nothing was lost and everything happened as planned and on time. All the folks I dealt with were courteous, professional and friendly. I called to receive an estimate. Initially Ed was friendly. Then when I started asking questions and telling him we might not afford the rate, he started explaining why other things would cost more (which is fine, it's a business). When I said I had moved myself a few times, he became defensive and curt, "Well then you move yourself and enjoy it." When I explained that I could not commit until I knew the full amount, he became demeaning and unprofessional, saying, "I do not work with people who respond in such a way." I don't think it's unreasonable to ask questions before I put money down. He seemed offended that I was unsure about moving with them. I would not work with them because of how quickly defensive and arrogant he became, "Hey, we have plenty of business, we don't need to work with someone like you." Not helpful. read more

We used Allstate for a move from San Diego to WI . The movers came on time and helped with some last minute items that needed to be packed up they all where wearing masks and very friendly. The movers that came to drop our stuff off at our new place however where not as pleasant they came in as if they where in a hurry to leave our things which we had already been waiting for a week halfway through they said they would take a break and then come back and continue they took a smoke break which then could be smelled through out our place once they came back to finish . We were assigned this company for a courtesy move within San Diego (we're Navy)...the guy came out to do the survey, handed me the paperwork to sign confirming the new address, the date, and that it was a one day move (we lived in a 1000sq ft 2bedroom apt with a one car garage)...they show up on the day of the move (at the end of the time window I was given) only to be told they would be packing that day and picking up the next! This was really unacceptable as my lease ended that day and I was already paying rent at the new place...so phone calls were made and basically they were unwilling to work with me on this and were very rude...Andy was argumentative and condescending...It didn't matter that I wasn't included in the email telling base that they needed two days for the move, I was blamed because I said we only had 4000 pounds and their survey said I have 7100...yeah, because I'm fitting 7100 pounds of stuff in a 1000 sq ft 2 bedroom apt...we had 8000 pounds in a three bedroom 2 car garage and that was with a hot tub! GMAFB Anyway, I gave up arguing with them because it was clear they were no help and the people at personal property on base weren't pushing the issue...didn't matter that I'm pregnant with health issues, have a toddler and two dogs, and my husband is deployed...I had to deal with all this last minute and stay in a hotel along with paying rent for an extra day at the old place. I'll be filling out the survey for the Navy and hopefully they'll eventually get enough bad reviews and lose their contract...they were slow and that's why it took two days not that I have too much stuff...I've been moving with the Navy for 14 years (even OCONUS) and this was by far the worst experience ever and it was for a move 15 minutes down the road! If you're ever assigned this company, ask for a different one! read more

I recently had the opportunity to relocate to Texas for a new position but needed to pick up and move an entire apartment from Santa Monica, CA all the way to Dallas, Texas. My girlfriend had suggested hiring a moving company and some how I stumbled across AllState. This is by far THE BEST moving company. I was in complete aw as to how accommodating they were with my schedule and were happy to work around it. The crew was very fast and efficient and got all of my fragile belongings to Texas in one piece. UPDATE! Just called United. "There is nothing we can do." I moved from San Diego to Chicago, with very little because I was out there on temp assignment. Easy, right? Ha. 1. I was told that the movers would be loading my stuff first and would be there early in the morning, and call me the day before to confirm. I got NO call. Finally, at 8pm that evening, I had to call the cell phone of the person who came for the estimate, who had to call the dispatcher, who informed me that I was third on the list. The movers weren't there till late afternoon. 2. I informed them that my stuff would be delivered to a storage facility with drive-in capabilities and they said perfect, they were going to load my stuff onto a smaller truck upon receipt in Chicago I am now told that my stuff can't be delivered until the 3rd week of August, and that I'll be charged a $50 fee because they need a Chicago "parking permit" FOR A DRIVE IN FACILITY? 3. I was told my stuff would be in Chicago the second week of August. It will not now be delivered until at LEAST August 17. I have no work clothes. I have no decent makeup. I have documents I'd like to get to. But no. Never, ever, EVER use United. All I get is wrong information and the local moving companies they hire are unresponsive and uncommunicative. read more

We're a military family and have moved all over the country several times. Allstate is by far the best moving company we have dealt with. There pick up and delivery was quick and on time. No box was out of place and there was no damage to any of our items. Hopefully this will be our last move but if we have to again we'll defiantly be going with Allstate! read more

I am struggling to even give a one star rating. This has been a horribly frustrating experience. My daughter was scheduled to start a new job tomorrow. Monday Dec. 13th. she did her research, read reviews and decided to hire Allstate Moving systems. She spent a long time on the phone describing every piece of furniture she had and the number of big and small boxes to move. They wanted a deposit which was paid Dec. 4th. Movers were scheduled to arrive Friday. Dec 10th. They called and said the prior job was grossly underestimated and they had to postpone til Sat. Then they called and announced the movers would arrive Sunday Am between 8 and noon. At noon, the driver called and said they were 6 hours out. It was a 6 hour drive to Indiana and the new home. The Movers arrived at 7:30pm smelling of booze and then announced that they needed to charge an add'l 15 hundred to two thousand dollars and would only take a Cashiers check or Venmo. My daughter kicked them out of her house and is now rushing to find another company to move her to Indianapolis. If you want to move. Do Not use this company. Moving is never easy, but when facilitated by the best, it becomes less painful. I have moved roughly 24 times in 60 years, cross city, intra and inter state and internationally with occasional temporary storage en route. My last move, intra state, was without a doubt the most professional, sensitive and accommodating move to date (and I hope my last). From the initial inventory estimate to the last check-off of the inventory list on arrival, expertise was shown at every step. I have 200 year-old antiques and a library with books going back to the 1600's. And finally: my first Moving Company contact was with a very major, large company, recently expanded to Escondido, CA. I was handled abruptly, inventoried poorly and "Zip-coded" (92067). That's when they see where you are from and tack on. Started out fine, but realized quickly that two of the three packers were not very experienced. The lead packer was more interested in getting done by 1:30 than getting the job done right. They left a lot of little items unpacked, nothing under our beds we're packed and our closet was not inventoried. It was left to the movers from a different company, which is not their job. Kirsten (moving coordinator), John (moving truck driver), and Steve (sales person) all worked together to move all household goods across the US. Problems do come up and they worked hard to resolve them. Including the weekend. Because of federal, and state laws (pay attention to them) United didn't charge us for 5,000 lbs over weight, didn't charge us for having to use a smaller truck to off load our household goods b/c the street was too narrow and didn' t charge us for being one day late. United's moving team did a great job. Moving is stressful enough, and United help reassure us things went well. Thanks to the United Poway office for a great job! read more

I have moved 6 times, and this was my 7th move and the only extremely poor experience. On the day of pick-up the movers never showed up, and I eventually had to call them to find out the status of my move. I was told it was 'a problem with a new computer,' and they would be there at 8am. They showed up 2-3 hours late the second day. Office manager could care less, and accused me of 'just wanting a discount.' Then they split my stuff up into two separate shipments: 1 shipment came a day early and the other 3 days after the window period, so I had to tip the movers twice. They have a supposed guarantee that your stuff will not arrive late, but I was told, 'well, we delivered half of your stuff on time.' Too bad that 'half' didn't include my office chair, bed, kitchen table chairs, or cushions for my sofa. This is a fraud in itself. I am missing several boxes of items, and still have not received a claim form. They took the back wheels off my bikes, and these are expensive road bikes that need the chain adjusted. Large gash on my office desk. Overall, they knew very little where my stuff was in the shipping. Just very incompetent. I am frustrated because my friends made the move with no problems for less. read more

I thought everything went great with the move in other then the broken furniture that was apparently done by the movers in Mississippi but who knows. They hire thieves because someone stole my jewelry from the top of my closet. The stole my wedding ring, a diamond ring, diamond bracelet and all my gold and silver necklaces. We are military so we move a lot and never have I ever had anything stolen. These are my precious things that can never be replaced. I'll keep the disaster experience I had with Allstate Moving short- AWFUL! I searched out four different companies and Allstate provided a great price, had a knowledgeable salesman, and had a solid BBB rating. Well, they moved out our stuff and moved it into storage for a month. When we called to have it released they told us it would take about 3 to 4 weeks to deliver (which is an entire 2 weeks more than they had told us). In addition to that, six months after our stuff was delivered they are calling and asking for more money for the extra storage that was their error. Overall, you can get more reliable elsewhere. They make up timelines and then charge you when they don't stick to them. It will take over 30 phone calls just to get your belongings. read more

Horrible moving company. I do not recommend. Did not come on schedule. They tripled the amount that was told after everything was done and when I disagreed, they took my 60" SMART TV. We agreed upon $460 and the final bill came up to $1,100. We estimated that a one bedroom apartment would take 3-4 hours and they ended up taking over 12 hours. All we had was one bedroom set, a tv and tv stand, a dining room set and 2 piece couches, 15 boxes that were packed already shouldn't take 2 professional movers over 12 hours. I am beyond frustrated with the amount of stuff that was broken. When I tried to speak to the office about my concerns all they were worried about is the money and not about my broken belongings or our verbal contract stating that it shouldn't take more than 3-4 hours and the cost would be $460. Do NOT waste your time on dealing with a company that is known for price doubling or tripling without consent. read more

All State Movers did nothing but lie from beginning to end . When booked was told I could use a credit card as form of payment. Not true. Was told movers would be in uniform and moving truck would have company logo. Not true on receiving or delivery end . Movers arrived at pick up late in evening -- already complaining about how exhausted they were . Not my problem -- I am not their scheduler. Movers (Auvi ? Ali? ) was extremely rude . Said move was going to be 4 times amount quoted even though all items had been put on my initial estimate. I even told Carmen my furniture was over - sized. Throughout the move Auvi threatened on several occasions to stop and unload truck. He was verbally abusive. We reminded him on several occasions about a day bed to be taken. He kept stalling. Security at my condominium was called by neighbors because of his loudness during the middle of the night. Security came for the remaining two hours to supervise. Auvi said he did not have tools to take bed apart. His were already in truck. Demanded we get our personal tools out of our vehicle. He said they didn't work. Security got him everything he requested but he still refused to take bed. They arrived at 8 pm and did not leave until the early morning. Complaining about how tired they were the entire time. When they did leave I gave him my credit card as I was told I could use. He refused. Luckily I had a check with me but I was not prepared for that form of payment. He told me I could call in the morning and replace check with credit card payment. Nope not true. Luckily I wrote do not cash on check. Upon arrival in home state my delivery was held hostage until cash was received. They wanted it wired etc.. When furniture was delivered the driver walked in and said where is cash. Not good day we are here to deliver your furniture etc. This company is all about the $$$ and not the customer . Almost every piece of furniture was damaged . It was unbelievable. Sofa looked like it had been tied behind the truck and dragged. Luckily , my condominium complex has it all on videotape -- Showing the abuse my sofa took on the elevator. Even though it had been in this same elevator 3 other times with zero issues. They simply didn't care . The legs are even missing . So my once beautiful sofa is useless . I was not offered the movers handbook or other insurance offered. Yes my bad. After calling the moving company to describe my horrors I was threatened by Mike Davis saying he knows where I live , etc. This is after I told him I would take them to small claims court and take to social media . Police were notified. Mike , the owner , is hard to reach . Please look at the photos attached . You will see the sofa. Dryer damage. Furniture scuffed from carelessness dragging on cement. Glass broken, etc etc etc. Run from this company. They lie about everything. The low price is a bait and switch. This company should be ashamed of themselves read more
