After visiting a few different other storage facilities our hearts were originally set on Security Public Storage. Upon arriving we were greeted by Felix and his wife! They set the tone for the rest of the visit. They were super helpful and so willing to help us find the storage unit that fit our needs! Which was a unit to house all my holiday decorations. They were quick to show us all the different sizes of storage units and offered us their best rates! We were in and out of there within 30 minutes of showing us the spaces and filling out the paperwork! My kind of people. Site & Service: 4/5: Space is clean, but not a fan of second floors or interior units. Gate is secure. Refund/credit took 5 calls to different staff and months to get credit. Easy payment options. Staff: Average: some are good, some are not so techy. Everyone is friendly though. Overall: There is no issue as long as you pay on time and store appropriately. If I could I would give it zero! Sadly no. There is a lady that works there that is so horrible. It's sad too because I recommend this place to friends 3 of them actually and I ended up telling them not to because of how rudely treated I was. Also the rats are all over the place.. I even saw rat poop in the office. But the main reason I am leaving is because of the experience I had with this Mia lady. She is rude. And does uncalled for things. I've caught her in lies and she just has this bad energy following her. Maybe she has a demon on her lol. But anyway, all this to say is don't fall for the nice lies. They will get you. She bitchs that she's the only one good at her job.. if she's the best they have idk how this place is open. She's acts like you are beneath her. She even bragged about how her coworkers were beneath her. I feel bad for her coworker. The owner really should look into this. Because your management won't do shit. read more

It's funny how one bad interaction can override an otherwise ok storage experience. They give you discounts for GOOD reviews, remember that as you're reading down through here and thinking they have good ratings I was even tempted at one point to leave a good review to get a discount. So, you're moving out on the day your lease expires -- do you think they give you a grace period? Nope. Not even during a pandemic. Or that the day before you move out is Palm Sunday (and they're closed). So 1) they charge you a daily fee while you're moving out of your unit. "oh, but we told you we were going to be closed" yeah, no, didn't get that email.. and so what, it's a storage unit, it shouldn't close. Greedy. Super nice upfront to get you to move in. Downhill on customer service after that. (a revolving door of onsite managers tells you something) 2) The rats and mice living in my unit for the last year -- every month I had to leave traps inside my unit because it was infested. My only solution was to get big plastic bins and plastic sheets and lock everything down/wrap everything up so the rats wouldn't make a home in my towels and blankets. 3) while not too bad, the rent increases sucked, because what are you going to do? move everything because they bump up the rent $10 here and there? My 10x15 was about $300 monthly, and i found a storage unit about 30 min away that was a 10x20 for $160. You CAN find better deals. And lastly, 4) the homeless population on Quincy, Washington, and surrounding uses the storage as a home base under the radar. And while there are signs out front that it's for "Storage Only", you can tell when someone is kind of living out of their unit. So, there's my experience with this place.. and I think I got my $20 worth with this review. Ask the home office if it was worth it, in the long run? Especially when money is tight and in the middle of a pandemic. read more

This is the worst business to do business with- I had reserved a storage unit and paid in full, then less than an hour later I had a change of plans and called back to ask for a refund after not needing the unit after all and now I've been waiting for over a month to get my $152.00 back. I have called and spoke to the manager 4 times now who assured me he passed it into corporates hands and I still have not received my money back. Worst business service ever. And the kicker is, that over a 20 year period I have used them several times for different units- handed them fistsfulls of money over the years, and they can't pay me one little refund that they owe me. If you want somewhere that is customer oriented and cares for your loyalty THIS IS NOT IT. They provide you discounts for good reviews... likely because they know how crappy they are. Rat poop and cockroaches everywhere. The office person was nice at the start... just to get business and then you're clearly just $$ for them. There's always homeless walking around. You can only enter your storage during there business hours and not open holidays. Which I don't understand why you can't access your belongings when you need to not when they want you to. I recently didn't receive my statement, logged in yesterday and waiting till today to call and inquire about my account. Noticed before logging in the charged me a late fee. I called the office and they provided me and email. I emailed and the manager Julio lied and told me I was called Sunday ... NOPE !!!! You'd think with someone who's always been on time and have been with them over a year they would care about you and appreciate you. NOPE. Thanks for showing me how your company operates and good thing a new storage company just opened down the street! Will be moving my business else where as soon as I can. I've been using Security Public Storage for about 9 months now, and I'm not close to Escondido yet I'm pretty confident about my belongings being safe and secure while I can't be there to physically check on all the time. It's great knowing that I also have built in insurance to make sure the things I do have stored are covered! Plus with a keypad gated entry not just anyone can enter so that helps with the peace of mind! I also like the ease of access to the facility; it's entrance is off from a somewhat major road so you don't have to stress about a busy roadway and getting your haul in or out, not being rushed is key for me. read more

Escondido Security Public storage in Escondido has the best customer service I can ever remember. They beat every provider I have for myself of business currently. I have been continuously late on my bill for my storage. By accident to start, because I was so busy that it was actually forgotten. Now, since starting my own business I'm working more, paid less and it's been rough during the pandemic. HOWEVER, the team, Maya & Lucas, (or whoever it is that operates those emails) are GREAT! They're extraordinary in my opinion! I get emails (not automated because I've replied) that remind me to pay my bill PRIOR to incurring any late fees. And, in this digital age, of fees-for-everything, I think that is stellar customer care and almost makes you feel like you can afford concierge when you know you can't! Prior to coming back to SPS I chose another storage company off Nordahl on Deodar Rd. Chosen because they had cheap pricing. We found out why. Our storage was broken into, and the staff couldn't care less. They couldn't tell us if anyone entered the gate or if it was another customer. I had heard the advertisements say the units are alarmed, finding that varies by the franchise. Lucky us, ours didn't. We didn't get a call until a day or two after they found our entire disc lock, the lock plate (or whatever) beaten off of the door with force because we could see the strike marks on the door. When found, they changed the lock plate, added a lock they wanted to charge us for, and called us one or two days later (nobody was sure of that either). No pics or anything of the initial damage, only the marks on the door to indicate anything happened at all. This is right across from the manager's office, less than 50 ft I'd say. Even the police taking the report for our insurance advised not to keep our things there as they have numerous problems. BACK TO SPS WE WENT. This is the 3rd time I've rented from SPS, they keep our things safe, I've never had an issue with a break-in or anything close. They keep the facility clean with the customer service over-and-above anything that I receive as a customer. I've nothing negative to say. Also, when I did the setup. The Manager (I believe) at the time made it so easy! I was in a rush and needed to get our things transferred from the prev. location. I did it all online submitted, signed and paid electronically pulled in showed id, got my card with the details, pulled to the unit and unloaded. They're 5 STAR STAFF has made all the difference! Water Leaked in my unit causing mold and damage to over $3000 of video and audio stuff. I filed a claim with Bader the mandatory insurance I had to pay each month and found nothing was covered. Bader has successfully excluded any item that you could store and any way it could be damaged. There were rat turds as well as water damage. Go where you can insure yourself not where you must pay insurance that covers nothing. read more

I highly recommend that you do not use this place for storage. The hours of access are way too short. If you are unable to make it out and are there until 7:01 they treat you as if you are a criminal. They were rude from the first day. I paid for my unit at11 am. They didn't unlock the unit until the next day and then lectured me about being there late when I was trying to get into my unit. read more
