Pros None…read more Cons Difficult owner/operators Poor customer service Unprofessional The owners operate this business. They don't care if you are a customer or not. Everything has to be properly done. You have to enter you entry code or they will ask you to go and do it. They want you out before closing; they will remind you that you only have half an hour left. Don't even dare complain; because they will end your contract at a moments notice. The owners/operators are extremely difficult about following every single rule down to its bone. I highly recommend you go to the many competing storage business around the San Diego County. There are many other owners that appreciate the business of there clientele, and won't let little inconsistencies ruin that. Overall: STAY AWAY!

They've stopped by to bring water, ask if we needed anything, and showed their willingness to provide more quality service. It's a well-run, safe, and secure property. Other tenants and Mini Storage staff were generous and understanding of our slightly chaotic workspace. Thanks again,

I've never had any issues with my storage or stuffs in there. The best part is how consistent is the price. Unlike the other places that would increase the price just within less than a year. I would recommend this place to anyone who looking for safe and clean with reasonable price.

When we first moved in, our lives were very hectic and we had a small issue that was a big deal to me. I had to leave town the next day, but still I called them. I was upset and didn't know how it could be resolved while I was gone. They instantly came up with a solution and took care of it right away. They followed up right when they said they would and have been extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. I've only been in the office once, months ago, but I stopped in again recently to ask a question and they instantly said, "ah yes, for unit ..." I'm not sure if they really remember every tenant or if they have some system of identification when you enter the property, but I've been extremely impressed by the customer service and how well this place is run! It feels secure, friendly and clean. We are very happy we chose this location!

I've suffered a traumatic brain injury therefore things such as payment, especially when I've had to cancel credit cards escape me reoccurring payments. They are always so kind to call me and remind me. The other day, my truck was broken into all of my cards were stolen, and Andre went way his way to call me and ask if there was could do to help. Let me know how many days I had before a late charge was going to be incurred. Even followed up later in the day at the time that I requested and called me to assist me in filling out the paperwork that I was able to pay my storage with. He sent me paperwork to where I could put it through my bank account because I no longer had access to any credit cards or my bank card and I'm currently in Mexico when this happened. Without that I would've had late fees. always so personable and so helpful when I forget they'll send follow up emails and they'll call and remind me. As a person with ADA issues, I am ever so grateful when I can find a business that has the courtesy and the understanding that San Diego self has shown me over the last two years. As for the facility, it's clean knee which is definitely helpful during the summer when I'm moving things in and out. Thank you, Andre and thank you San Diego self Storage. You definitely deserve five star rating!

a ca-lillion zeroes. absolutely horrible and inhumane storage facility, reprehensible company…read more rat-infested. i am a real customers -- not friends and family members of otay mesa self storage aka dba as san diego self storage staff. otay mesa self storage also lists san diego self storage on its correspondence. in any case otay mesa self storage and san diego self storage is unethical and no integrity. due to military obligations, we stored our property on 2/19/2011. after increasing to $205 for a 9 x 7 unit, we decided: enough is enough. we went to clean out storage unit and met with massive rodent-infestation that destroyed all our property, saturated our storage unit with dead rodents, rodent-droppings, and rodent urine everywhere. no. we have paid otay mesa self storage thousands of dollars over 15.5 years. now we have zero to show for paying otay mesa self storage. our unit is inside the building. so that means the building is rat-infested. then add that neither the facility manager nor company have ever contacted us or investigated this matter. just hiding behind emails. otay mesa self storage and san diego self storage instead continues to threaten us about payments and has served lien papers but never once had addressed rodent-infestation that has destroyed all our property. we were forced to throw out our entire home. but all we get are payment-harassment and lien threats. they keep raising prices like an apartment complex but added no value. no air ventilation, no light in the facility bathroom, and outrageous fines -- $200 if trash is left and $250 if you leave late. the trash issue is that otay mesa self storage keeps all bins locked. so if staff is not around and you leave trash at trash bin, $200 fine. and otay mesa self storage only has one garbage and recycle to service the entire facility. absolutely ridiculous. no light in the bathroom. our storage is in the very back of the building, and otay mesa self storage forces customers to drag trash very long distances. very inhumane conditions. mainly, no air ventilation and sign posted to keep the door closed at all times. that's how i caught a case of hantavirus sickness -- headaches, dizziness, faintness, nonstop running nose, nonstop coughing, burning eyes. i had to step away due to hantavirus sickness from breathing in rodent-droppings and rodent-urine in no air-ventillation. and all august, 100-degree weather. i am still recovering from hantavirus sickness.
