They can to my house picked up all of the things I needed to be stored AND they showed up when they said they would. The next day I realized that I had sent something in one of the boxes and I needed to get it back, called them, they brought it back promptly, took out what I needed and then they took the box back to storage. Who does that!!! So instead of me hiring a truck, loading it, unloading it, taking the truck back. These guys did it for the same price as me doing it on my own. Can't go wrong with this service Genius!

But that's not even the issue, since that is in their fine print. The issue is that these people are impossible to reach by phone. They picked up my son's belongings in May, but on their website there was nothing listed as being in storage for him to get back. The office was closed over Labor Day weekend, which is a very busy move-in weekend for students at the local universities, and they had a phone message saying nobody would be in their office answering their phone and that you should text this other number. Texting that number produced no results. Honestly, the best option for storage is to rent a storage unit and bring things to it yourself so that you don't get overcharged and jerked around by OnDemand storage.

We had a lot of stuff and large furniture, and 4 bedrooms sets. Everything was disassembled and reassembled without any issues. Before they were completely done they made sure everything was where we wanted it and would move around again if necessary. They were wonderful, professional, hard working, never complained, kind, considerate, just a pleasure to deal with all day. I would not hesitate to refer them to family and friends and if I ever needed them in the future, this would be the only call I made.

8 years ago when I used Burkhardt Movers, I had the most positive moving experience possible…read more Fast forward to 2023, and I wondered if they maintained their excellence. The bottom line is that you shouldn't waste time looking around, just use Burkhardt. One of the owners David came a week before the move, gave me a reasonable estimate and was incredibly personable. Then yesterday they sent two guys (Morgan and Kyle) who were absolutely tremendous. Sometimes you never know what you're getting with movers, but these two guys were courteous, listened to make sure that things were done the way I wanted, and they let me know on multiple occasions that they were dedicated to making sure that the job was done the way I wanted. And to make it even better, they were also focused on being efficient which meant that the move went smoothly and quickly without any feeling that they were cutting corners. It wasn't until later that I found out that Morgan is also a Burkhardt, and it gives me confidence that this company is going to be around for a long time. Moving is usually an emotional affair, but Burkhardt Movers were so fantastic that the sadness of the move was quickly replaced by gratitude for how pain-free they made the move. I had used this company years ago in the early 2000's and had a good experience. However, the time I used them again a few years ago was a nightmare, One of the owners came to my apartment to give me an estimate. I was getting rid of most of my furniture because it was old and/or broken. So basically all I had to move was a bedroom set, a couch, and some boxes. He quoted me two people because I did not have a lot to move. In fact, when I used them before I only had two people because I did not have a ton of furniture but much more than I had this time. Anyway, imagine my surprise when on moving day THREE people showed up. One of them said to me that they didn't have much work that day. Oh so I am supposed to pay for that? They know they have you though because moving is stressful enough without an argument. Plus, I stupidly thought it would go faster. WRONG! They were so slow that even with three of them there would be long gaps between getting furniture. I went outside at one point and saw the three of them just hanging out on the truck. So finally when everything was done I said ok I will meet you at the new place. One of them said, we have to stop at the office real quick. I get to my new place, and it took them over an hour and a half to arrive. I called their cell phone at one point because they had given me the number, but of course they did not answer. So when they finally showed up and moved me in, they way overcharged me. At least a third more than what I was quoted. I was so tired and worn out that I just paid it. I had to return to work the next day so it took me a while to unpack. That's when I started to notice that I was missing things, jewelry, handbags, designer sunglasses, china from my Grandmother, a huge jar full of change, clothes etc. The problem was i could not prove any of it. I also stupidly used bankers boxes so I did not seal them because I have never had a mover steal from me. One of the movers even said to me that I should not have used them! I was too stupid to realize that the reason they took so long to get to my new place was because they were going through my stuff to see what valuables they could take. I am still heartbroken because some of the things they took were family heirlooms which really only had sentimental value. Please do not hire these people at any price! I wish I had brought them to court, and I still might. Anyway, I am hoping I can spare someone else from their thievery.

I rented a 10' X 30' unit to hold all minut home's furnishings while I transitioned between 2…read morehomes. While the gentleman who did my paperwork for Guardian was pleasant enough, and the rate was competitive, I experienced an unrecoverable loss of a red leather chair, to what appeared to be rodent(s) chewing at it. There were a few newly purchased packing boxes which also suffered the same type of damage. When I brought this to the attention of Brad, the manager of the facility, he told me about the facility's insurance coverage and pointed me in their direction. (I guess that was easier for him than just telling me what he surely already knew.) I filled out a multiple page claim form online and provided clear evidence with pictures. About a week later I get a form letter back telling me that I'd be covered for a natural disaster, but if their storage unit had rodent infestation resulting in damage to my property, that was not covered. Moral of the story would be to inspect the unit thoroughly; ask the unlikely questions; and get representations in writing. Not a good experience.
