The night (past 11pm) before the move we were notified that only 2 guys were coming because of a last-minute job, but Marco himself would be part of our crew--okay, that's fine. They showed up RIGHT on time and were courteous, friendly and ready to rock & roll. When I asked about the wardrobe boxes we requested, I was told they didn't have any, and could wrap everything in trash bags or move it ourselves...well, that's disappointing because we made the request & had it confirmed in writing, AND you state on your website "Our truck comes fully loaded with all that you might need. At last moment if you require any packing material, it will be with our team" but that's fine, we'll figure something out (like 3 more carloads on our own). My wife wants me to give Marco Polo 5 stars, but I feel she can write her own review if she feels that strongly. I'm giving them a solid 4 because really, the move would not have happened without them. Both of the guys on our crew were extremely focused, seeming to never tire--they didn't take more than a couple bathroom breaks the whole 8 hours! This really should have been a two day job, the crew and we were exhausted by the end of the day. I'm not really upset about the cost difference because I knew what their hourly rate was. The crew really wanted to get it all wrapped up for us by the end of the day instead of stretching to another day because they had another job the next day bright and early. The booking office is really putting their workers through the wringer and I don't appreciate that. The crew was kind and delicate with our items. They were being gracious and offering to do whatever we wanted with regards to helping pack remaining items, disassembling and reassembling furniture, and organizing things at the new house. I may have taken note of their time for these things if it hadn't been clear by noon that this was going to already be a very long day. By 10pm I was just happy to have everything remaining that we own in the garage. So I did enjoy the crew, but if you go with this company and have a lot of stuff then you need to do some legwork yourself to get an accurate estimate. I had a three bedroom 1700 sqft house with a large basement and garage and it took 15 hours and cost $4k.

We moved a 3 floor townhouse worth of big ticket furniture, boxes, and other odds and ends (such as an elliptical machine) near New Hampshire, to a 3 floor house in Boston. The quoting process and their inventory system process was a breeze to use, which helped them facilite the correct sized moving truck to be used. They were very accommodating with our moving period/schedule. The communication was very clear and concise, with very prompt responses via email whenever we had a question or concern. We honestly set it, and forget it until moving day arrived. The day before moving day, we received the timeframe window the movers would come. Day of the move, the truck and three movers came. They went over the cost breakdown with us again, so that there were no surprises for us (there were none!). We gave them a quick walk-through of our place and what was moving. They formulated their moving plan, and how they'd load the moving truck, and quickly packed up and moved everything into the truck. The movers wrapped up all the big ticket furniture in blankets and taped it to avoid any dents/damage. They were also very polite, and asked for permission, when they needed a quick break (3 flights of stairs is a lot of work!). Once they we done, they drove over to Boston for the unload process. Again, they were very quick and efficient. We went through a walkthrough in the Boston house, for them to formulate what would go where, and off to the races they went. Some of the big ticket items (Queen size beds w/ headboards, antique hutches, dressers), I had concerns about fitting into bending stairways... they were able to alleviate. We had a large L shaped couch, they removed (and later put back on) the legs, and were able to navigate the tight turns going up stairs to make it fit! Once they were done with the move, they went over the cost breakdown one more time before payment (again no surprises from our end with it). I would highly recommend M&M Moving. Everyone we interacted with from their end, during this moving process, was very professional, nice, courteous, and efficient.

In both moves The Other Guys has been nothing but efficient, cost-effective, kind, helpful, caring, and flexible. Jane in the office rocks! Their email response time is second to none. Plus, she fields and fielded so many last moment changes in the move from Boston to NJ, she deserves a medal. I recently needed additional documentation to have my employer cove some costs and all materials were sent over immediately, even though my move was a while ago. In the most recent Northern NJ to Western MA, happened very fast and had a tight timeline. Julius and his team were able to help. I did not think they would even be interested in a move that required them to start in NJ, but thankfully, they were. Their quote was spot on and thorough, included toll estimates, mileage, materials, time, and more. Many other companies left out tolls and materials fees. Plus, it was much cheaper than some options in NJ (those NJ movers were BANANAS). They kept me updated the way down to NJ and throughout the drive north. When we got to the final destination in Western Mass, Julius made sure we saw the scratches on the hardwood, right under where we were placing our bed, left by previous tenants to ensure our landlord did not charge us. Admittedly, I checked four or five moving companies before settling on this company based on a combination of price and availability. The On It Movers had supplies available to use and to purchase, including moving blankets for my furniture, cutting down on the need to make a trip to Home Depot to sort these items. On the day of the move, they were in constant contact to share updates on their estimated arrival. The move itself came in exactly as estimated both in terms of the time they estimated it would take and budget. As an added bonus, both of the guys are super friendly which given the stress of moving, makes a world of difference. I'll be moving again in two months into a new apartment (from a storage unit), and will certainly be using On It Movers again.
