a very pretty cocktail bar hidden in the hotel indigo. it is set up like a speakeasy and ends up being the most romantic rooftop setting. perfect for a girls night pregame or a intimate romantic date night. the portions are nicely sized and perfect for sharing, the flavors are an amazing carribean fusion.

My brother and I came in last Friday and had a 10/10 experience! The staff was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our server, Hadasa, gave us some of her favorite recommendations, and I'm SO glad she did. Everything we ordered was delish!! We started with the tamarind wings and the oxtail tostones. Both perfectly seasoned. We shared the jerk chicken pot pie- unreal!! The roof is gorgeous and the music was subtle but perfect. I will absolutely be back.

A few nights ago, I attended an RSVP event for the cocktails and dinner series at Aliya Cocktail Den. Aliya is located on the top level of the Hotel Indigo in Williamsburg. It's very cute and warmly decorated. The feeling is like a beautiful living room inside of a super luxurious apartment. The night offered a DJ spinning late 90s to mid 2000s R&B, various cocktails and a limited menu. I started at the bar with a very tasty margarita made with Cristalino Patrón. I wasn't thrilled about the twenty dollar cost but the bartender really turned it up with this drink. I enjoyed it lots. Next, I ordered food-tamarind chicken wings and oxtail fried rice. The wings were so juicy, saucy, sticky and good. They were more smoky tasting than sweet which I appreciate. I was excited to try the oxtail fried rice which listed egg as an ingredient but I wasn't happy about that egg being soft fried. I don't like warm egg yolk spilling all over my food. The rest of the rice was blah, bland, basic. The DJ was great and the crowd was cool and ready to dance and mingle. Minus a star because someone on staff decided to open the glass doors to the outside pool deck which was right where my two friends and I were sitting. They also decided on this chilly night to leave that door wide open for the rest of the night, as a walkway. Not cool. One of my friends was forced to get her coat out of coat check and wear it at the table for the rest of the night. I'd like to return to Aliya for a full dinner experience. I still really enjoyed my night.

Really cozy space, however, didn't feel as though I was on top of people. It feels true to what would be expected of a hotel rooftop small plates restaurant. Servers were welcoming, friendly, and were comfortable explaining the menu and providing recommendations. For food, I did the wings, oxtail tacos, and plantain fries, which were all tasty. The tacos came out on what appeared to be pita bread, nice touch. The wings felt as though they were missing something, still can't quite put my fingers on it. The plantain fries were delicious! Definitely the highlight. What would've taken these over the edge is having them warmer and have some of the sauce on the side, while the sauce was delicious it might be overpowering and has a kick to it, so sauce on the side would've been perfect. For drinks, did the Bonita applebum, honestly didn't need another drink due to the size. My guest tried the Ja-Ja which they enjoyed. Will be back to try additional items on the menu. They did a good job overall with the space, menu and overall feel.

I wanted to like this place. It's a beautiful venue but the service was... trash. If anyone from the team is reading this, implement some kind of dress code, company t-shirt or at least name tags to identify the employees from the patrons. Flagging down an employee (which I shouldn't need to do after sitting at a table for an hour without being asked a single question) was nearly impossible. Everyone looked like a patron. When I finally had someone take my order there was no pen and paper, no device in hand to ensure the order was correct. So guess what I got 45 mins later? THE WRONG ORDER. Now, why would I, a party of 1, order TWO Mac and cheeses? She didn't want to double check before bringing that out to me? And then when I get the bill, guess what's still on it? The greasy Mac and cheese I didn't ask for. Guess what else was on the bill? A 22% automatic gratuity that isn't mentioned on the menu. I guess this is the incentive to provide subpar service. They're getting paid either way. Speaking of greasy Mac... I also order the tamarind wings which were very dry. The whole experience just turned me off. Maybe go for the drinks. I won't be returning though.

Located in the Hotel Indigo Aliya was decorated nicely from the lobby. I can commend the decor. The Chairs were also big and comfy. I was the last to arrive in group so I found them seated. There was no chair at the table fore despite knowing there were 5 people coming. They let me know that despite having reservations they were met with a bit of confusion at the hostess area. Nonetheless they found table for us. I flagged down a waitstaff for a menu order a drink because I wasn't greeted when I got there. It wasn't super busy so I'm not sure what happened. We ordered almost everything to try. I really wanted to be blown away but things were lacking in seasoning. Such as the oxtail rice. The shrimp taco shells were so dry it was hard to swallow and a ton of onion that overtook everything. The shrimp dumpling was ok. Too much sesame oil that again over took the delicate shrimp. The best thing was the wings and the oxtail taco. What left a bad taste in my mouth was the check was given basically rushing us from the table. I understand there is an seating time limit. However , there were ppl there longer than us that weren't being rushed. They were trying to take plates away that we just got with food on them. It was not cool. When yhe check came they have a QR code to use toast to pay. That system is a scam and charged me an additional 68 dollars for gratuity after we already paid gratuity. I had not hit added tip but it did it automatically. So if you go here I'd say just give your card and don't pay from your phone. When I tried to resolve the issue the wait staff was rude about it and didn't seem helpful at all. I asked for management who then voided the payment. This was however after a long discussion of the situation. All in all. I will not be back. I was excited to try somewhere new and black owned but it was not organized as it should and the incident and customer service left a lot to be desired.

Brooklyn has a nice hidden Den cocktail spot that's worth the visit. This restaurant is located on the rooftop of Hotel Indigo Williamsburg. When you enter the hotel there is an amazing aroma and the lobby is very stylish perfect for a photo shoot. You walk to the back onto the right side and it's like entering a hidden location. You are greeted by the hostess who will check you in and also ask if you would like to check your coat. Then you proceed to enter the elevator which is decorated with the design of the room you can't really tell that it's the actual elevator. It looks like the art decor of the wall. So let's talk about the small plates that you can order. Yes, they are small plates but very filling..... Drinks: Sorrel - had a good taste Ginger Beer- no complaints from my sister so must have been on point Food: Oxtail Fried Rice without the oxtail (no meat anymore) Shrimp Mandu- flavorful great size Plantain Fries - one of the best items of the night flavor and spice all in one was really good. Escovitch Lobster Tacos- they came our room temperature but taste really good. Tamarind Wings- was overcooked but as per my sister the flavor was good My reservations were for 9pm and upon arrival there was one large party seated next to us and their party table set up was very nice. Definitely gave me an idea on hosting a dinner party there. So busy eating and chatting with my sister we didn't realize that the nice open space was now filled with a lot of men and a few ladies. It's was like a whole party of all types behind us as we wrapped up our dinner. I must say when I saw that crowd I said this will be a one and done for me but I don't want to say that but I will say I will make earlier reservations to enjoy the restaurant cozy feeling without having people standing over my back towards the end of my meal. Overall, great experience and food but the key is to make earlier reservations but if you are on the younger side then yes the late night vibe would definitely be for you...... Enjoy if you goooo!!!!

Despite its sweet and charming atmosphere, the management is incredibly rude and makes guests feel completely unwelcome. We paid $100 per person ( discounted) for a 4-hour pool service, but were treated like we were lining up for food at a shelter. When we tried to use the showers, we found dirty used towels and a mess inside. The service and staff were also disappointing -- it felt like no one had any idea what was going on. The only good thing was the pool temperature, which was great, and we could somewhat enjoy it between 9-10 AM. Still, it wasn't really a place where you could comfortably swim. There are definitely better options out there. I don't recommend it.

Throughly enjoyed this spot. Arrived here on a Saturday night my cousin and I. You enter a small area within the hotel and take the elevator up to the roof. Beautiful decor and views as you exit. The night time air was a bit crisp so we opted to sit inside. And we ordered the tamarind wings and the green plantain fries served with a good spicy sauce. I wish I had the name of my cocktail I'll just insert the photo but it was a spicy kick. The music was nice a mix of hip hop, r&b , afro beats and reggae. It's a sexy vibe in there. The crowd is mixed between tourist and locals , guest Of the hotels.

Ok, this restaurant is amazing. Between the food, the service and the views I'm going back without question. You do have to make a reservation. And trust me if you do not cancel in advance or are a no show they will charge you $15/pp (on your reservation). Upon entry (its inside Hotel Indigo Williamsburg) you check in with the hostess on the ground level and she escorts you in the elevator and to your seat. There's a pool up there too. Didn't know that you can patronize the pool via resort pass (I'm doing that next time too). My reservation was for 6, but I got there at 5 and the kitchen wasn't quite open yet. So I had a Vanilla Bean Manhattan, it was delicious. But the drink wasn't full to the rim of the glass. The servers were really nice, they were very accommodating cause I kept moving the umbrella cause that sun was beaming . I had the oxtail fried rice and baaaaaaaaby that dish was AH MAZ ING!!! I did take the fried egg over easy off my food. But it was so good. And I had the tamarind wings, they were a little undercooked. But the outside of the wings were very flavorful. The prices were not bad and I would definitely go back again. The views are of the BQE so the noise comes from the traffic. But the views are really nice without the honking And the biggest plus for me is that it's Black Woman owned. I was honored to support her.

I came her for my friend's birthday and we had a great time. We ordered almost everything on the menu. I had two drinks, I did not like the second drink. The first drink was really good and pretty, the blackberry drink. We ordered the oxtail fried rice, the mushrooms, tacos, salad, the dumplings and corn. The service was great and I would definitely be back. The place is beautiful and has an outdoor area with a pool. The food was good my favorite were the tacos, fried rice and the mushrooms. The mushroom dish was my favorite. The service was as great, she was really nice her name was Ashley. I would definitely come back and recommend it to other people.

However, I was quickly proven wrong. Not only was the service topnotch, but the drinks were surprisingly delicious and refreshing. There's a ton of options which is also surprising considering the tap only format. Upon further reflection of how tiny the bar is, it makes sense why they would go this route. It would be challenging for one person let alone two to be behind that bar shaking and stirring. I also heard there's a back area with more seating but we didn't explore much further than the front bar stool seating. Seems like a cool spot for happy hour or late night drinks and I would definitely return!

We were lucky to grab 2 seats at the bar as the rest of the seating actually seemed a bit cramped and uninviting. They advertise a heated back patio but I don't think the heat was on and no one was there, which is a bummer. Regardless, the theme is nice with everything attributable to their "laboratory" ambience. Everything is served in beakers or similar glasses. It can get a bit crowded sitting at the bar as that's where everyone orders drinks but otherwise this was quite enjoyable. Will definitely keep on the list for HH.
