Came here for Brunch. Eve's lounge is a nice cozy spot with exceptional staff, we felt right at home. We ordered the Bellini's and I was extremely happy the lounge was not using that cheap champagne that most restaurants use to make the Bellini's. The food was really good, well seasoned and the presentation was on point. We ordered the fried fish and grits, shrimp and grits, mac and cheese, chili wings and of course the burger. We had a beautiful feast. We finished it off with IceCream soaked in Bailey's and some awesome after brunch shots. If you are a foody you would love this spot. Good food but the service was weird. They take your credit card and charge gratuity automatically (so beware when you pay as they do not tell you). Our waiter was very off and I had to ask him multiple times for my credit card back. However our food was tasty, the music was on another level, and the rest of the staff was friendly. read more

Nice little place owner is very nice I will definitely be back. The food was so tasty and well plated drinks weren't very strong to be honest. I went with a big group and tried a little of everyone's food everything was good. I deduct one star because the menu seems very limited a few more entree choices would be nice. Because of this I ended up ordering two appetizers in lieu of an entree (shrimp & fries). My fries came like 20 minutes before the shrimp so by the time the shrimp came I was almost done with the fries and they were cold. This seems to be what happened to everyone who didn't order an entree. I think the staff should note if you are ordering appetizers in lieu of an entree so that they come together. Kitchen is open late and close at 2am.. the jerk chicken quesadillas was pretty good, everything was cooked to ordered, i wished I could taste a little more of the jerk flavor.. Sweet potato fries were hittin' enough that I almost gave it two stars... but then I remembered I'm not a sewer rat and I have standards. Burger came out well-done when I asked for medium rare -- basically a hockey puck in a sesame bun. Unseasoned too, like they sent it out as a raw dare. Three people, two cups of water. Asked for another cup for my dad, she just filled mine and stared at him like "figure it out." At checkout, no Apple Pay -- but somehow their tap-tap card reader worked fine. Apparently, Apple Pay doesn't "prove your identity" but tapping a piece of plastic with no signature verification is air-tight national security. Sure. Also, watch out -- they sneak a 20% gratuity on your bill and then still shove the tip screen in your face like a Vegas street hustler. If you don't watch close, you'll tip twice and pay for the manager's next Big Mac run. Never again. 0/10. Only thing rarer than my burger was good judgment inside this building. read more

Met up with my girl's at Eve's Lounge on a Wednesday for Happy Hour which ends at 7PM and stayed for Karaoke which begins at 8PM. Boy we had a time! After a few glasses of wine my friends began ordering the boozy "fishbowl" drinks. I didn't but they looked good. I ordered crispy fried shrimp and the Mac and cheese appetizer. My shrimps were perfect. The mac and cheese was very good-could've been more gooey for me. Bacon makes everything better. The karaoke DJ was on point and so much fun! He kept the rotation going smoothly and even participated with fun ad libs and dancing. My friends and I were LOUD but there were no judgey looks or side eyes. Bartenders were very personable. Shout-out to the chef for sending all of our food out hot, tasty and quickly. A wonderful time was had by all. Eve's is very close to where I live. I'll be there again. read more

This was by far, the absolute WORST restaurant experience I've ever had. The amount of complaints I have about my recent visit is astounding. To begin, our party of 4 politely told our server that we were in a bit of a rush when we sat down at around 7:30 as we had a show to catch. We placed our food and drink orders within 10 minutes. Our server told us the $7 Taco Tuesday was for 2 tacos, not 1. She made it sound like we had two choices (chicken and fish) for $7. They tasted fine, but $7 for a couple of bites is insane. How much do they cost on a regular night??? It took 30 minutes to get the soup, which was clearly frozen and not enjoyable. My mom ordered a small order of Parmesan garlic fries which didn't come out until after the soup, and did not have any Parmesan OR garlic. Our server said the burger would be right out, but I asked to just package it up in a to go container. 15 minutes passed and the burger was no where to be seen (45 minutes now since the order was placed). At this point, our server should have known that we were clearly impatient and needed to leave. We ask her to just take the burger off our bill for the inconvenience, which she refunded. I then sat at the bar, waiting for the burger to be brought out. She knew there was nothing else I could have been waiting there for. I ask her on the status and she says the chef was packaging it up. 5 minutes later I again ask where the burger is, to which I find out that they TOSSED THE WHOLE BURGER OUT AND THAT IF I WANTED ANOTHER, I'D HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEM TO MAKE A NEW ONE. I was SHOCKED. The lack of awareness and efficiency from the staff here is unlike anything I've ever seen. And I will never ever return. 0/10 experience. read more

Came here out of the whim. I loved how friendly the staff was. The food was bae food but enjoyable. We ordered dumplings (chicken and vegetable), Thai shrimp, and spring rolls. We hosted a graduation party at Eve's Lounge's private room. The room was cozy yet held a very large group comfortably. The servers were kind, shoutout to Prince and Skye! The food is delicious! Those jerk wings -- the flavors! The ambience was welcoming, intimate and casual. The drinks were really good, and we kept the bar busy. We ordered hookah which is only allowed outside, however, their blended indoor/outdoor dining service made it such that we could hookah and still watch the game on one of their four large screen televisions. I wouldn't come here if I'm in a rush, or I'd order takeout. It's a lounge for real. There's a DJ. It's chill. The owners Kim and Debra were exceptionally gracious. It is not easy to host a party where 50+ people all leave saying they had a ball. Eve's Lounge provided that experience. I'd definitely go back. read more

I had a lovely time here. This place literally exudes Brooklyn vibes. I'm originally from BK, but I no longer live there, was in town visiting for the weekend. My date actually found this place after we left Kimono downtown Brooklyn. Quiet, intimate, good selection of music. It was absolutely the vibe I was looking for. I didn't really enjoy the food. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon after seeing an exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. We were seated promptly, and greeted by our waiter who took our order. I'm all about supporting our Black owned businesses, especially after COVID-19, so Eve's Lounge was on our agenda after my friend sang them plenty of praises. Being from CT, I'm often hesitant to dine in NY because I just like our restaurants better but I was excited to try this out. When we got there, we were seated relatively quickly and accommodations were made for us as our party size was 6. The ambience was nice, although the space is quite cozy. We were given paper menus and served in take out containers (due to COVID so heads up). I ordered the Thai shrimp and the Mac & Cheese, while my friends got the wings and chicken sandwich. When our meal came, I forgot I was in NY and was shocked that I only got 5 pieces of shrimp for $15. But again, it's NYC. The food was very delicious that I had to order another serving of the Thai shrimp. Overall, we had a good time and I certainly encourage others to try them out. read more

Came here for a sort of super belated birthday outing for a friend; he's a big proponent is supporting BOB, so I selected this place. My friend and I arrived around 7:30, but we were waiting on our other friend to arrive. So we sat outside and waited on the bench outside-- it became to cold and luckily some people were leaving and we got three seats at the bar. The place is relatively small but ample. With bar stool seats, seats at he bar and an area in the back for hookah. I went with the classic burger (cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayo). I enjoyed my burger. I also went with their 40 ounce drink ($22), I can't recall the name, but it was Pineapple something. My friend went with the LA Ice Tea and Cheese Fries. My other friend had a Mojito and Wings.. My drink was slightly watered down -- his drink wasn't. I'd say this place is good for a date or for a night out with just a small group of friends. FYI-- I've seen reviews where people mention some slight issues with that, as well. In my case, when I thought the tip was already included because it differed from the total, the bartender said yes, it was included, "but you can add another". I just believe they should change that are clearly state tips are included. read more

The location is great and the hookah was hitting. We wanted to sit outside to smoke hookah so we were seated in a nice lil spot to the side, but the chairs were little, hard af and the table was rickety. We had a male waiter that was horrible at customer service...Our complimentary water bottle kept falling over because the table was shaking and there are spaces in between the wood. Not letting that kill our vibe we ordered another round of frozen drinks (Get the mango) and soon as we got them that same water bottle fell over again and spilled my new drink all over the ground (never got to even sip it).Now this idiot of a waiter gonna tell me I have to pay for another drink. We called the manager and she fixed everything and put a plate under the water bottle and sent out a fresh drink for me. CON Now the hookahs are about $40, but they DO NOT give refills, you have to purchase another round for $40. The waiter said "Because this is not a hookah spot, they don't do refill prices." I actually pushed this bar n lounge when my coworker wanted a place to celebrate her friends birthday. I like to support our black owned establishment but i can safely say that the reason many of us don't support black businesses is bc of owners like "Debra" I believe her name was. I met my party there. My friend did not finish her meal and passed it to me. It was a jerk shrimp taco. I was actually enjoying it until I got to the last bite and felt something hard and pointy in my mouth. I spat out what I was chewing but not before pulling a piece of hard plastic around and inch long out of my mouth. I only wish I had taken a pic of it. I did not make a scene about it bc I wanted my friend to enjoy his bday outing. When the waiter came back to the table about 10 mins later I and my party brought it to his attention that plastic was found in the meal and we showed it to him. Next thing I know, about what seemed to be 20 mins later and after my friend said she wanted a refund, the owner marches over and starts an onslaught of questioning in an accusatory and condescending way. She insisted on speaking to me as if I was a child and kept asking me why we didn't call her right away and if it was her she would have called right away....but all the food is gone. I repeated that it was not my meal to begin with and I was just finishing my friends meal. When I became upset, she then played the "why can't we all get along card?" and "why can't we be respectful of each other?" I found that to be hilarious and aggravating at the same time considering this woman basically implied I was trying to get a free meal. 10 mins later, she sent the server to give us the boot by sending over the check which was not asked for. I have worked in the hospitality business and I can say without hesitation that she did not handle that situation correctly. First and foremost, you want to keep your costumers coming back and accusing them of trying to get out of a check isn't it. She should have apologized; show concern considering I could have been seriously harmed by this. I have never had to get out of paying a dinner check so I found this woman to be completely out of order, shameless and unapologetically rude and unprofessional. So we had set plans for Friday but made it out that Sunday evening. They had small hookahs but I guess just molasses since they didn't contain nicotine so we didn't purchase any. There were tvs around with the games on and some R&B music playing in the background. When we arrived it wasn't many people inside so we were able to sit immediately. The server took our orders and brought out the drinks. It did take a long time for our group of 5 to get our food. I believe they have a small kitchen so just be mindful of that. I was pleasantly surprised to find Eve's Lounge on my way to the Brooklyn Museum. It has a warm atmosphere with a friendly and attentive staff. The music was great and the food was excellent. I went for brunch and the fish and grits, with some mango juice on the side. The fish was cooked well, crispy enough on the outside, moist and tasty on the inside. It was seasoned to perfection. I appreciate this black owned business. The drinks are good and so is the food that I've had so far. The staff are all quite friendly. They enjoy striking up a conversation with you and that's a beautiful thing in itself especially in a bar setting. The bartenders are quite attentive. I can't recall the young lady's name, she almost looked barely over the legal age to serve liquor in the first place, but she makes a nice cocktail. She's also nice to chat with about the neighborhood and such. Additionally here, they offer hookah, however, they aren't known for it but it it's still an option, so go for it if you plan to linger anyway. Prices are quite reasonable and the atmosphere is good.
