I arrived at to No Bull last night around 7pm for a friends birthday and must say I did enjoy myself. $5 drinks before 8 pm with $15 Hookah and $10 refills you truly can't beat that price. There truly aren't any limitations to the type of drink you can receive! I grabbed a handful of mojito's for $5 before the deal was over -- Score! As the drinks were flowing and the night was progressing, the one thing that kept popping through my mind was " WTH is the DJ playing". He not only played the entire song, he mixed reggae to rap to reggaeton in the oddest of ways. One moment, you are in a really great groove with your friend and the next your vibe is entirely gone... This is not the highlight -- They played funny Instagram videos on a screen with a projector, IN THE LOUNGE... What is god holy name is this place doing? You have 90% of the room looking to catch a good vibe from the weird music and 10% laughing over the music to random videos... There is apparently a huge conflict of interest. I want to also mention, there was only one bartender and one waitress. The waitress struggled a lot that night with forgetting orders, or keeping the customers updated in regards to wait time etc.. I don't fault her as there should never only be ONE person working the floor at any establishment. Rough night for her and a lot of respect. I will come back because of the price point, but my expectations are extremely LOW. read more

I made reservation through Yelp for a group of four. Upon arriving I was informed that they no longer serve food. This establishment is a bar/lounge only and DOES NOT serve food. The gentlemen who spoke to us apologized for the inconvenience and recommended a very good Peruvian restaurant nearby. He promised if we came back after dinner he would have a table reserved for us. After dinner we returned and the table was available as the gentleman had stated. This is a real chill spot. Music is a good mix of latin, old school music and top 40's. Drinks and hookah were good as well. They are not cheap with the liquor. Staff were all polite and attentive. We all had a pleasant time and plan to go again. read more

Embracing the neighborhood: NO BULL. NO BULL is a new bar/restaurant owned by a friendly couple that grew up here in Bushwick. With all the pretentious, hipsterizing, gentrifying new places, NO BULL's melding of the old neighborhood and the new is a breath of fresh air. The clientele seems to be both old and young, from all different backgrounds. I've seen young hipsters get dinner here, but also seen a full salsa throw down at 3 am with everyone (including grandpas) tearing up the dance floor. I live across the street, so I've been here a couple of times, and I really love the atmosphere. They have a lovely working fireplace, couches, but also tables for dinner or a nice wooden bar for drinks. They have an amazing happy hour, $5 well and wines before 8. My favorite "daily special" is a Cosmo for $7 on Saturdays. The fries are delicious--hand cut and come with a great spicy sauce. I also recommend the wings (also a special), the Mac and cheese, and if you go for brunch the coconut/cornflake french toast with their whiskey syrup. Yum! Came here for brunch. The service was extremely slow and there was only one other table. The food was ok, but not great. Says "maple syrup" on the menu but really just had "breakfast syrup". Not the same. We asked them to split the check. They didn't. Someone ordered the bacon to be INSIDE the burrito. It wasn't. Too bad because the ambiance is really nice. They're just starting out so maybe this will get better. read more

I was the last of a group of 10 to order. Sat here for an hour before I was told my order was not put in... are you fucking kidding me? The place was not busy at the time and there is no excuse for such terrible service. That waiter needs a new day job. Can't tell you if the food was good, cuz I never got it. Never have I ever been compelled to "yelp" a restaurant until now, literally downloaded the app to complain. Never coming back here and will never suggest anyone else do so. read more

I attended the brunch party on one of the hottest days of the summer and their AC was not working. It was beyond uncomfortable and nothing was done to fix the issue or cool us down. We complained multiple times and all they did was bring 1 fan down by the entrance. If the AC was not functioning they should not have opened or at least purchased additional fans to circulate some air. read more

Food was OK, service was way too slow. Only two groups in the whole restaurant and we waited on drinks for more than 30 minutes. My friend ordered pancakes and when we asked where the food was the server said he forgot to place order in, granted brunch can be crazy but it wasn't busy... $5 juices??? No bull NO MORE . I went to No Bull for the first time last night. I didnt know what to expect but was surprised at what i found out. $20 cover at 1050 pm? The hostess at the door was initally very sweet but quickly got an attitude when I said my party of 9 was already here. That's fine, it ended there. Prices for bottle service was as expected. $135 per bottle but i found this type of pricing a bit high for a fairly new and unknown spot. What took me by surprise is each bottle is allowed one juice. Children's juices? Your choice of juice is a single 8 oz (maybe 10 oz but doubt it) serving size bottle that parents usually pack their kids school lunches with. I was in shock, even if you mix 50/50 alcohol and juice it wasn't enough to go around. Of course we ran out so we requested another kids juice bottle and to my surprise it was $5. Are you kidding me? $5 for a tiny juice? Clubs in Manhattan charge $5 for at least 12 oz serving size juices. If it was $3 then i wouldn't of written a review about my experience but I thought customers should know what they are getting themselves into. Our bottle hostess was sweet and kind but didnt know we dont like the bottoms of dirty bottles in our clean ice bucket. She could of either brought 1 ice bucket for the bottle and 1 for serving ice (only) OR just not put the bottle in the ice bucket. Either would of been more sanitary. I am all about supporting local spots but I will not be supporting this one. read more

Wish I could give this place no stars!!! Came here for a birthday brunch party that was planned weeks in advance and the owner failed to let the people know that THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING!!!! Actually there was a small window air conditioner sitting on the bar pointed toward the bar tenders. We couldn't go anywhere else since the celebration was supposed to be at this horrible place in which 50+ friends and family showed up only to be subjected to what seemed like an oven. Completely ruined the birthday celebration to say the least. I found it extremely inconsiderate of the owner or management not to warn about the absence of air conditioning on one of the hottest days in July thus far in advance to give the group a chance to find a more comfortable place to celebrate. I came here for the brunch Sunday party, which I thought would've been a great time celebrating a close friends birthday, but in fact it was the WORST time ever! In the middle of July when its 90 degress outside and to come to a venue that has no air conditioner and make no attempt to get it fixed or better yet accommodate the customers is beyond disrespectful and inconsiderate! It was beyond uncomfortable for me as a customer let alone what kind of management or owner lets their employees work in those conditions. it was literally hazardous to my health to be in such conditions. I've noticed that Yelp took out my review of No Bull, which I believe is unfair because patrons need an honest review of this great venue. As I mentioned before, No Bull has the ideal ambience for every occasion. This bar/restaurant/lounge has awesome food, drinks and music. The food at No Bull is fresh and healthy (I had the veggie burger). The drinks are strong and worth the money. As for the music, they play every genre. No Bull is such an awesome place, that my fiancé and I have made it our preferred spot...and that's no bull!!! By the way, I gave No Bull 4 stars because the bartender did not have a beer that I requested, but she requested Brooklyn Lager, which is now one of my favorite beers. read more
