I cannot express enough how terrible and disappointing my experience here was. I first visited this establishment for a Yelp Elite week and left severely underwhelmed. The food was bad, the drinks were bad, the service was terrible. I reached out to the establishment via email to share my experience so they can implement the feedback being given. The general manager replied back which I took as a sign they were interested in improving the product they're putting in front of people as well as the customer service. Fast forward to January 22, 2023. We purchased tickets for an event hosted at Oui with LP from Drink Masters on Netflix. Included in the ticket price was bar seating and a signature LP drink. When we were seated we were near the bar, not at the bar. No big deal. A woman came around to take our order and when we tried to place on order for two LP signature drinks, we were told that we'd have to pay $16 per. We pushed back mentioning that that's not what was advertised and the woman became curt with us exclaiming that if we don't want to pay extra we need to pick a "Oui cocktail." We asked why that's not clearly advertised and she shared she didn't think that it was necessary to advertise that. After a significant amount of back and forth, she caved and let us order the drinks that were STATED to be included in our ticket (screenshots enclosed). After looking through their social media, because we wanted to see if we were indeed mistaken, we discovered that the woman who took our order is the general manager. Her picture is on the website and their social media, Dana. The same general manager that stated in her email "Tye, it's important to me that you know that hospitality and making my guests happy is what keeps me going, and I do not take negative feedback lightly." I'm not sure if this is a Jekyll and Hyde situation or what, but I'd expect someone who "cares" about her guests would not be combative and fraudulent. I will never return here ever again and if you care about quality food and good service or simply don't want to fall prey to a bait and switch, I suggest you avoid this place. read more

I had heard great things from friends who attended the in-person Yelp event at Oui, so I was very excited to try it for myself. I had a bit of trouble with the reservation, as I had made one and received confirmation but later was told that I did not have one in that same email chain, so I had to make one again. It was quite a trek for me to get there, but when I did I was impressed by the vibes immediately upon walking inside. The reflective windows and blue lighting made it feel like I had been transported somewhere magical. We stood there by the door for about 15 minutes before a hostess finally came up and asked if we had a reservation. We told them our reservation, but they weren't able to find it in the system, so I guess it got lost a second time, but luckily they were able to seat us right away. When ordering, I tried to clarify that we were there for the Yelp elite promotion, but I guess there was a misunderstanding, as I tried to ask which dishes were included under the term small plates and if the jerk lamb chops was one of them and the answer I received was yes, but I guess they must have thought I was asking a different question. I didn't mind supporting the business by buying something extra, but I was just caught off-guard when the bill came and they told us they didn't realize we were yelp elite and that the dish in question was not included and told us to order another small plate at the end, which we ended up just ordering to-go. Also, at the start of the meal, we tried ordering a hookah, but we were never brought one, and whenever we asked they told us it was still on the way, but eventually we cancelled it after we had finished eating. We saw other tables who had received a hookah at the same time they had their food, so this was quite disappointing. Overall, I enjoyed the food here, but the drinks were a bit too sweet for my taste, albeit good nonetheless. Food The food, as with lounges, tend to be more on the finger food side but are flavorful and very well done. We had the Corn Ribs, which is a creative way of eating corn, the Lamb Chops, the Oxtail empanada and the five spice wings. The wings were really good - Oui takes the extra effort to draw out the moisture of the skin for an extra crispy texture, and I appreciate it! Drinks I had the Hibiscus Kiss. Apparently another Michelle T. arrived earlier in the week and was given my reservation as she didn't have one (ugh) . I made a reservation to come to this spot after seeing the new release of the Black Panther movie. The pictures on Yelp def was also the main driver here and it was close by the theater. First time dining in this location for a night out. I came here previously for an event and was impressed. That's what led me coming here on my own this time. My friend and I were looking for a local spot for drinks and food. Just want you to be aware THEY DO NOT SERVE ENTREES everything on their menu are appetizers or rather small plates. There are no dinner items or platters. I believe the lounge part is confusing because usually you can get food and drinks at this type of establishment. That's why I have a 3-star rating. There menu consists of a total of 10-12 items drinks being half and the other small plates. Service is great. Prices are a bit more than expected especially since they don't have full entrees to compare. The drinks are exceptional and I have to say the Hibiscus kiss is my favorite. THEY'RE THIEVES! 1. I went here on a "ladies free before 11" got to the door and had to pay $20 because I hadn't RSVP'd which wasn't on the flyer. 2. They only take card and don't tell you that an 18% gratuity is already included in the price. I assume it's triggered by the entry of guests. You'll see she put 4 guests even though I was a singular person at the bar. The bartender handles the POS so, you don't see that until you get your receipt IF you get one. I even asked about tip and you'll see she lets me enter a tip knowing one is already included. 3. I must have forgotten my credit card at the bar. At 330AM (shortly after they closed) someone tried to buy DJ equipment totaling $6,854. I'm currently pursuing legal action. 4. You have to order everything through the bartender (drinks, food, hookah). I had wings missing and she said she didn't ring me up for two wings and I would have to order another set. Honestly if I could give one star I would. This was by far one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I've never left an establishment feeling so disrespected before in my adult life. While I did not try their food or drinks, I was there for an event they were hosting. The overall experience and service was enough to make me never visit this business again. I was there for the LP Cocktail Experience. If you don't know, LP is the Season 1 Winner of Netflix's Drink Masters. I was excited to taste her drinks and meet her, especially since the event was being held at a Black Owned Restaurant. This was a ticketed event that included a complimentary LP crafted cocktail. Tickets started at $25/per person and were tiered based on where you wanted to sit. We paid for the bar seats which were $40/per person. We arrived on time for our 5pm seating and the restaurant wasn't ready. We waited a few minutes and then they started checking people in and escorting them to their seats. We were sat at a table near the bar, which is not the bar seating we were expecting. In fact, all the bar seats were removed. I was under the impression I'd be at the bar to be able to see LP make drinks. I decided to not say anything about the seating. Maybe all the seats were removed so everyone could see LP, but if that's the case why offer tiered tickets? There was never a formal introduction of LP. If you didn't watch the show and know what she looked like you honestly would have missed her. Later in the evening she left the bar and made rounds on her own, but I was thinking the restaurant would introduce her, congratulate her or something along those lines at the start of the event. To make matters worse, when it was time to place our drink order we were informed that the complimentary cocktail was a Oui Cocktail and not a cocktail created by LP. If we wanted a crafted LP cocktail, it had to be purchased separately and they cost $16 each. This was upsetting, at that point I felt taken advantage of. Not only was I not sitting where I expected to sit, but now I had to pay extra to have a drink by the guest mixologist of a ticketed event? We vocalized our frustration and were given the response that they didn't think that's something they had to include on the flyer. The person taking our order was annoyed by our frustration and was not receptive to our feedback whatsoever. She made me feel like we were being unreasonable and were inconveniencing her with outlandish expectations instead of trying to hear us out and resolve a misunderstanding. She eventually said she'd give us an LP drink, took our order and then avoided us for the rest of the night. After doing a quick social media dive, it turns out the person we were talking to the whole time was the General Manager Dana which makes the situation 100% worse in my opinion. This is the reason why I will never frequent this business again. The lack of empathy and receptiveness to feedback in the moment was disheartening. I hope this written feedback will be received. I've included their social media posts about the event which clearly states that the complimentary drink was supposed to be crafted by LP and not a Oui Cocktail drink. While I'm happy we advocated for ourselves, I can't help but wonder how many folx were fooled into paying extra for something that was advertised as being included in the ticket. Maybe I would have been more forgiving if this error was coming from another staff member, but I personally interacted with the General Manager. Shame on this business for taking advantage of people with their bait and switch advertisement. I left feeling like the business was more concerned with making a profit then actually creating a great experience for guests to meet and celebrate LP. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I loved this place. It's a hidden gem located in Brooklyn. My friends and I came here on Saturday after being disappointed at a different restaurant. BONUS: We were able to call and get last minute reservations. When we walked into the restaurant it we were promptly greeted. I loved the blue-light aesthetic as well. Our server was Brittany and she was nothing short of AWESOME! She was friendly, knew the menu and just seemed like a genuinely nice person. She checked on us frequently as well. This spot opened in May 2022. It feels good to have a lounge in the Flatbush area again. I like having something closer to home. The decor is really nice, white seating, nice lighting. They have some nice seating option for big groups in the front and the back. The music was great, they played soca which is my personal fave. Our drinks were good but i would definitely need to try more to be able to fairly rate the beverages. The wings were tasty and fried hard. I didn't love the passion fruit ranch sauce, it was good but I felt like it would be better paired with a spicy wing. The calamari was delicious. The truffle fries could use a bit more truffle but the serving size was plentiful. I look forward to coming again, especially a little later at night. However, we were not prepared for such horrible service. We walked in and there was no hostess. We waited 10 mins before finally going to the bar and asking if we could be seated. The bartender(although nice) told us to sit at the bar or grab a table. We figured let's sit at the bar for faster service. We were sadly mistaken. We were sitting at the bar for 30 mins before we were even acknowledged. When we finally ordered drinks and hookah it took about another 20 mins for the drinks to come and no hookah. We decided to keep waiting. Another 30 mins goes by still no hookah and no one asked if we needed more drinks or anything. After complaining to the bartender about still not receiving hookah, she explained they only had 3 serves working including herself but she would check for us. The hookah person came with a hookah that we thought was for us about 10 mins after that but gave it to the dj. I was completely fed up after that. We came here for a Yelp elite event,,, and I'm glad I did! It is a beautiful spot tucked away in the heart of Brooklyn, I would've never found. Food The food was prepared expeditiously and tasty. I had the salad and it had mangos and cranberries in it, that paired very well with the rest of the salad. The shrimp was grilled to perfection, I placed it on top of the salad which I recommend! The salad does have the option to add shrimp. The empanadas were very good and they were generous with the meat. It's jam packed with oxtails, they were so good two weren't enough! I had to place another order. The wings I forget the name but the sauce was amazing, I would go back just for the wings. I don't drink alcohol but they were pretty and one of them the lemon was set ablaze. Upon my arrival I noticed the bright blue beautiful lights outside. Which grasp my attention. We where greeted by the host. Who seated us within 3 minutes. My friends and me scanned the barcode so we could get the party flowing by ordering our drinks and delicious appetizers. I came here on a Friday night and I must say i really enjoyed it. I ordered three drinks and the lamb chops, calamari, wings, fries and the oxtail empanadas. Let's start with the food so the oxtail empanadas were good they were flavorful and had a good amount of oxtail. Then the fries were good as well. The wings were regular wings nothing special. The calamari was fried too much and I was not a fan of that texture; I never thought calamari could be too fried. Now the lamb chops were very good but they were overcooked. To me lamb chops should always be a little pink and these were cooked all the way no pink. The lamb chops were juicy and I must say very good. The drinks were delicious and strong. I think this place is great and do recommend it. I would say the food items are ok and would want something more memorable in regards to the food. The drinks were on point. I would have loved to give them a 5 star review as the ambiance was spectacular and I enjoyed celebrating my 51st bday there with 12 guest....unfortunately they DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH FOOD CHOICES‼ The drinks were good BUT a bit pricey, like I have a friend who doesn't drink, and a 7oz cup of juice was $11...no refills mind u.....they had 1 order of oxtail empanadas that I the birthday girl did enjoy and the 5 spice rub wings were ok as well BUT again..the selections were slim...I recommend prep before opening as we had a 5pm reservation and they began cooking at 5pm‍....Overall I will give them another shot as I really like the cool ambiance of the location and our waitress (forgot her name...long Goddess locs) was very attentive to my party. Tonight was my first time here im actually writing this from my seat i came to meet some ppl about over an hour after they arrived and that how long they waited for their food. i order 2 of their special drinks the reason why 2 because the hibiscus was a sugar attack it tasted like sugar water with syrup and the other lawd colored seltzer. so i just ordered a jack and ginger it was decent. My food order was lamb chops i thought it was ok just a little salty but after a few minutes stomach rejected the whole meal. I came back to the table still trying to be a good sport my friends were enjoy the music and ordered a hookah. The hookah was just hot smoke no buzz nothing then i said maybe it's non tobacco but it didn't even have a taste it was like smoking ashes and that was time for me to leave.
