I was visiting my favorite Indian market, Raj Groceries for Indian snacks and to catch up on some conversation with Raj when I began to crave some homemade samosas for a snack. My mind was telling me to just pick up some frozen ones at Raj, but my stomach was craving authenticity. So I stopped by Alief-Indo-Pak a fairly newer establishment in the area. Upon walking inside, it was dead; no one sitting down to eat and there wasn't much of anyone inside the restaurant. I thought to myself, I should just leave, but I insisted to get me this snack as I was starving. So, I waited for this older auntie to stare at me like I was a goblin. I asked her for takeout and she provided me a menu. I scoured the menu just to see their offerings. I settled for the samosas. The lady was not nice, she did not speak to me and treated me like I was the hobbit who lived under the bridge. Ignorantly, I persisted in trying their food. The red flags were flying high which I ignored. Within a couple of seconds after ordering, the food was ready. I paid and left. The food was not good and tasted like the frozen samosas from Raj. The exterior was flaky, but oily. It would have helped to pat the breading off. Wanted to get some samosas. While the cost was more than most, the khastha (breading) was good, but very very oily, taking away the freshness and taste - added a bitterness to the samosa. Couldn't taste the condiments,l. Terrible terrible terrible x 50 more!!! Drove in from houston last night and not many places open, we love Indian food so give it a shot. Walked in the restaurant and no one (means no body...) there, red flag 1. No AC the lady said we could sit under the fam or better if we took it to go, red flag 2. Looked at the menu and asked for their suggestion, I had veg paneer and my friend had chicken tikka, as she's ringing it up she's asking if we want it with Nan (cha Ching), and rice (cha Ching), more spice (cha Ching), water ( cha Ching), pay with credit card will cost you another 6$ (cha Ching), we shared rice and Nan thinking the plates would at least be full and sumptuous (more red flags), cost came out to 60$!!!! No problem because we were expecting something good for that price. Sat down at a table under the best operating fan they had on a hot muggy night. Noticed they had plates on the tables and glasses open to the ceiling (not turned down for cleanliness and germ free), and thought ewww I wouldn't want to eat or drink from those plates or glasses. An employee was in the corner a few tables down working on a fan and lights (haha spreading the dust and germs). At this point we should of ran and requested a refund, but we were hungry and had driven a hour and half and wanted to eat and go straight to sleep. lol the night was young! She brought the food, Nan was like burnt crackers e oil on it no taste of anything let alone garlic Nan. Rice was nicely steamed and fluffy, the curries looked like soups, still we waited in anticipation that all the goodies were at the bottom ... boom! Mine tasted like campbells canned tomato soup, or maybe a generic canned product not even campbells, with, a few, countable 1/4" cubed pieces I estimated about 15, of paneer. That WAS IT!!! So hungry I stomached the soup and thought at least rice looked good and ate what I could. My friend also had very few more of checked with nothing else, except a few pieces of chicken and the rest was watered down sauce or soup. We started feeling a bit ill after a bit, but thought it was just that we hadn't eaten all day. Right when we am were about to leave the lady asked with a devious smile, did you like it? Lolol... I thought did she really delight in knowing she poisoned us? We felt sick all the way home till my friend had to stop and throw up. And I suffered awaiting the same. Thinking they gave us bad rice or something.... Bad service, terrible food super high prices for that slop! Really annoyed that we didn't speak up or leave before. Hands down, the worst Indian food I've had in my entire life. I should have known better than to eat anywhere in Webster. We only came because we stopped at Raj Grocers for some butter summer sauce and saw this place next door. Why oh why didn't we we just drive to clear lake for some great Indian food? Oh, the regrets... This place is super depressing and reminds me of a crappy waiting room more than a restaurant. The two waitresses were in horrible moods and were disappointed that we decided to dine-in instead of do take-out. We decided, despite the lack of decor and overall grim appearance of the place, to go ahead and order butter chicken and palak paneer with a side of naan. The palak paneer was AWFUL! The paneer was cold, rock hard and had the consistency of frozen bubblegum. Neither of us had more than one bite and no amount of attempting to disguise it with naan worked. The butter chicken wasn't awful but I've had way better - even at food trucks. While we were eating, a small roach crawled on our table and thankfully my husband killed it before it reached my food. Just a terrible experience. Terrible food, grumpy waitresses, bug on the table, and a filthy and drab interior means we will absolutely never go back. Yikes. read more

This place is a hit or miss, more towards the latter lately. I used to frequent this place often, but after my last swing by I think I'm going to give it a miss for good. So I called in for the special of the day which was the nihari and naan like an hour early to play it safe. When I got there the lady said that the chef was in the process of making the naan, so I wait another 10 minutes and then she says the chef just got through with HIS Lunch and now wud look into my order..!! We were looking for a new place to try and was in the mood for Chicken Tikka Masala. I must say that the food did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was flavorful and fresh. We did have to wait (we were politely asked if it was a problem) 20 minutes for our special mixed grill but it was worth every minute. My tikka masala was rich and creamy and complimented my naan and rice nicely. Finished the meal off with jaggery chai tea. That was really nice. All the staff was polite and helpful. The place was clean but rather plain and lacking decor. I have a feel that they have recently opened as a sign was being installed on the building front as we finished our meal. Five stars earned fairly. This restaurant had some delicious food! I ordered banjara chicken and chicken tikka masala with a side of garlic naan. The garlic naan was super fresh- I got to see them take it out and cut it up right there. Very tasty, you have to try it. The banjara chicken... WOW! I can't express how good and tender this was. You could've cut the chicken with a spoon. It was so flavorful and moist, it was our favorite dish. The tikka masala was good, I just wish it was more spicy. We ordered mild but I'd definitely ask for more spice next time. The atmosphere was calm and laid back. Several families were there enjoying lunch. Service was great. Not sure about the bad reviews in regards to this, maybe the owners saw them and changed? But service was sincerely nice. They were so pleasant and answered all questions. They made suggestions that definitely benefited our experience, and made sure we enjoyed our visit here. They catered to each table individually and made sure to keep the place spotless. I will be back, that banjara chicken was incredible. Edit: I forgot to mention dessert! They have these little ice cream sweets called "kulfi" that were very tasty. I would recommend trying those out, as well. I haven't had them before, so I can't compare them to anywhere else but I did like them a lot. I was in town with my family, and I decided to get something that I normally don't eat. The outside of the restaurant isn't anything to brag home about, but I still decided to give this place a chance. I went in and looked at the one-page menu that they have. I noticed that there were photos, so I wanted to ask what dishes those were since there were no numbers to coincide with the picture of food. When I moved to ask my question, some guy stepped in front of me and proceeded to ramble on for 20 minutes. Once they ceased discussion in their native language, I asked about the pictures on the menu. This garnered an instant response of attitude. The woman told me that they only served "curry" and that I need to eat that food somewhere else. "That food" being on their menu. The menu had other things outside of curry and a man that was sitting down was eating beef and salad, (not curry). She then told me to take my business to the restaurant down the street. I am an obviously gay man, and I am not one to make judgment calls like this. However, I haven't experienced such sheer bigotry from a restaurant in my life. I can't believe there is a place that would deny me service because of my sexual preference in Clear Lake. This is a homophobic place. I would recommend that members of the LGBT community avoid this place unless they want to be treated the way I was. read more

Ordered the chicken tikka masala, naan, palak paneer, basmati rice, and kheer for dessert. Took them 5-10 minutes to get the food out to us and the staff was so nice! When it came, there was so, so much food. Enough you feed my mom and I TWICE for only $28. Me and my mom always find the best food at little holes in the wall and this was no exception. Dude even made us a special dish that isn't on the menu that he wanted us to try just because we had gone a couple of times and he knew us really well. Classy move. They always have fresh platings, vegetable was crisp and fresh, samosa chat was hearty, naan was light airy and crisp, daal had the right amount of spice and seasonings the butter made a difference, and the goat byryani was succulent. I have no clue what happened to this place!!!! I have been here before many times and have enjoyed the food. This time, it was all bad. Actually, it's a no from me. Will not back. I'm shocked because I took the food to go for my entourage and I. They actually made the food for me and it was so bland and nasty. I ordered goat biryani, chicken biryani, and chicken tikka masala.... all spicy....the hottest. Nothing keeps me up at night like ordering spicy food and actually given bland food! ( total exaggeration.....I work at night) People seem to be new. The chicken tikka masala serving was super small and flavorless. The goat biryani was bland rice with sinew and bones. NO meat....yuck!! The chicken biryani was bland, bland, and blander. I was so prepared for the dancing of spices that hits the tongue but the party never really got started.
