My coworker suggested that I try this place. I came during lunch so the service was not long. The menu is straight to the point, either a wrap or plate option. I opted for the chicken, rice and hummus. I ordered to go, but you do have the option of staying there. Once I got to work, I realized that I received the wrong side as it appeared to be pickled vegetable and not the hummus I had ordered. I had planned on going back with my receipt the next day. The portions provided the option to split the meal into two. I ate the second half the next day as they give you a lot of rice. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the garlic sauce was ok, but next time I will request it on the side as they do give you a lot. You have the choice of a base of rice or hummus. I will also try maybe a salad. Overall I plan on trying them again as I work in a food dessert and it's hard to find food that is not fast food.

Gyro in Pita

Driving home and I saw this place off side the freeway I was curious me and my son went in and we got the gyro loaded fries and a gyro on the pita. We walked in it's a nice quaint space good lighting welcoming environment. The aroma of the food grasps our noses and we knew we were in for a treat. The cashier was friendly I told him it was our first time and he guided me in the right direction. When I say my taste buds are so satisfied with the hot fresh flavorful food we tried today we will definitely be back

First time here and it won't be my last. Called in an order over the phone and the lady was polite. The food was fresh and neatly packaged. This will be my new spot if I'm in the area.

They moved a few doors down to unit G-1

A few months back, my friend told me about Halal Shawarma and suggested that I try it out. The following day, I stopped in for lunch to go. When I arrived I was confused. They had a banner saying that they moved to a different unit (from B to G-1). Unit G-1 is a few doors down in the same shopping strip. They have a lot of tables and it seems like this unit is larger than the old one based on photos. I ordered the beef shawarma wrap with tahini sauce and hummus. It didn't take long for it to be prepared. While I waited, the employee who took my order offered me a free drink which was so nice of him. The wrap was really tasty and I really enjoyed the hummus! It was so smooth and creamy. The spices and flavor were really good and just different from the foods that I usually eat. I'm happy that my friend recommended this place! I'm not usually on this side of town and there's no way I would have found it on my own.

Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The pork ribs were the star of the show. So tender, fall off the bone deliciousness. Pair it with the hot sauce that they have on the side and it was chefs kiss! The best ribs I've ever had. The brisket on the other hand was a little dry and I wish it had more flavor, but the sauce made up for it. We also got the Mac n cheese with brisket on top. They really did not skimp out on the brisket. It was very delicious and the Mac n cheese was perfectly creamy and decadent. They also pickles, pickled jalapeño, and onions on the side which really cut the fat from the meat. The coleslaw that we got was okay though. Overall, it was a great experience. All the employees were nice and patient with us since it was our first time here and we had some questions. The vibes were definitely there. Will def stop by here if we ever go to Texas again!!

I'm a boudin lover at heart so that's a no brained for me. The smoky boudin link ($8) was cooked to perfection, you know the ones you can eat and the casing snaps with crispness as you bite into it. Rice still has its moist and perfect texture as well. Kam ordered the extra lean brisket sandwich ($15) that's served on jalapeño biscuit buns which he seemed to really enjoy We order side to share, just try. Bacon Mac& cheese. ($6, large) Which is really creamy and cheesy. The noodles were perfectly cooked. The only flaw was the bacon fat I bit into which was a large pieces (yuck) someone who's a texture girl I would be skeptical to order it again. Is perfect alone/ without the bacon. The potato salad ($4 small) was a good cool balance. The jambalaya wasn't much of what I expected, rice a tad overcooked for my liking. I'd prefer either the Mac n cheese or potato salad. We usually don't eat pork ribs, but the appearance was too beautiful not to try. I was happy to hear that Pinkerton do sell them by singles for guest who just want to try them for taste, like us. They were fall off the bone great. No military discount offered at this time. This is the original location The line is for dine in, and take out. I do look forward to returning for the brisket sandwich and boudin link.

We ordered the Habibi Feast, which is perfect for sharing and gives you a little bit of everything. It came with brisket, turkey, chicken, and sausage--and every protein was cooked to perfection. The brisket was tender with a beautiful smoke ring, the turkey was juicy, and the chicken had a great flavorful crust. For sides, we went with mac and cheese, creamed corn, potato salad, and fried okra. Honestly, all of them hit--especially the creamy mac and cheese and the fried okra, which had a perfect crunch. We also tried the brisket shawarma, and that was a standout. It's a really cool fusion of Texas BBQ and Mediterranean flavors--smoky, saucy, and packed with flavor in every bite. Overall, this spot brings a unique twist to traditional BBQ with its Mediterranean influence. Great food, great service, and a solid atmosphere--definitely a place I'll be coming back to. Highly recommend if you're in Houston and want something different from your usual BBQ spot.

Our first dish, the Paani Puri, came out in 10 minutes. My favorite paani was the tamarind, followed by the passion fruit, yogurt, and then guava and mango. I thought the guava was a bit bland at first but it really worked well in the Puri. It took about ~30 minutes for appetizers to come out. Mithu's Coriander Shrimp (4/5): It reminds me a lot of Vietnamese / Thai curry. It's a bit pricey, but would recommend trying it. The sauce went really well with naan. Tandoori Chicken Kulcha (4/5): Delicious filling. The Kashmiri butter and fenugreek butter were very unique to melt on and add flavors. We actually had the most fun dipping the Kulcha in the shrimp sauce (4.5/5 combo haha) Entrees came out at ~50 minutes. Malwani Fish Curry (4.5/5) Inspired by West india and an incredibly tender piece of cod. The curry was very citrus forward and went excellently with naan and biryani rice. Dal Musaafer (5/5) Still fantastic, smoky, and complex. I'll get this every time we come. Jackfruit Biryani (3/5): A surprisingly good replacement texture for chicken, but I felt that it was missing the complexity of the lamb chop biryani. Nimbu Naan (4/5): Comes with three pieces and has a nice lemony flavor. I think I prefer the spice of the bullet naan. We also tried the "Pour me a Slice" cocktail, which was really a unique experience of drinking a pizza. Seriously, you can barely taste alcohol here. It's a truffle award winner but the truffle really comes out as a lingering flavor. It's really like a margarita pizza. Paid with inKind with no issues again. Another really fun experience here!

He said it was "a better choice" and that they were out of tallarines. I told him clearly that I did not want lomo saltado, but he kept insisting, so I just took it to avoid arguing. When we got home, the real problem started -- both chickens were undercooked, tough, and hard to chew. Now that they've sufficiently blown up around NYC, I was a bit shocked (and excited) to see them finally come to H-Town. What's the verdict? It's good enough to pass muster for NY standards (#1), is open super late, and will likely be my go-to Halal food for the foreseeable future. Since I've only had it in cart form, I'm still a buggin over the fact it's become a franchise. It's similar to my shock of eating Halal Guys at a store for the first time. The digs feel as foreign (prices, large, clean and bright interior) as it does familiar (taste, logo, etc.). Even though I had a laugh seeing the wall photo-mural of a Shah's cart in Times Square, I did appreciate the nod to Ozone Park with the 121st & Liberty street signs. The chicken + lamb combo platter ($12) is and always will be the winner. The lamb had the same kind of seasoning that most Halal spots out here try to replicate but can never get right. The rice was fluffy, and the white sauce was easily the highlight. I can understand why they've decided to bottle it up and sell it as liquid gold. It makes every meal better. Kofta ($12) and chapli ($13) are rarely my favorites, but I knew I had both in platter form. The addition of adding chickpeas and these other salads is not something I'm used to from the carts (#2) but I loved the fact it was drowned in the white sauce with a dash of hot sauce. The latter is supposedly extremely hot, but I didn't find it that spicy. While I have to say the cheeseburger was a bit of a disappointment (overly bready, thin patty), the pakora chips and french fries were fabulous. They were perfectly seasoned, had a nice crisp, and frankly would be an excellent, gut-busting addition to any platter. I don't love the extra charge, but I hope they remain consistent with it. This store location in Westchase along Westheimer is an up and coming part of town. There are numerous Middle Eastern businesses in the adjacent area, along with an abundance of parking spots and a good amount of late night activity. Service was friendly but I do hope they keep their standards up. As time goes on, I'm 100% convinced this will be a destination for the many late night meal seekers and fans of NY nostaligia. __________ (#1) Which automatically supersedes a lot of the ones here in Houston. Just keeping it real. (#2) Is the chickpeas a Houston thing? Genuinely curious.

This is a nicely sized spot next to the Jusgo plaza in Houston Chinatown, so plenty of parking and also food options. It's tucked in a corner but should not be written off. Its a pretty casual sitdown restaurant and we were welcomed and sat pretty quickly on a Saturday around 8:30PM. We were provided menus and started ordering everything that sounded good (within reason for 2, sorta). We ended up getting the Uyghur polo with lamb shank, Uyghur goshnaan, korma chop, garlic cucumbers, mint tea, and a yogurt for dessert. This was more than enough food for 2 but I wanted to try a bunch and this is me holding back. The Uyghur goshnaan was very crispy and the filling was flavorful and juicy, good lamb flavor and nice spices. The Uyghur polo with lamb shank was great and the pilaf had a nice sweetness with raisins that cut through some of the fatty richness of the lamb. The korma chop was also super flavorful with a nice savory sauce and noodled with an excellent texture, very QQ. I don't usually order cucumbers at Asian restaurants cause I can make a cucumber salad pretty easily at home but the one here was very good. Excellent refreshing crunch and garlic flavor to go with all the other dishes. The mint tea was also nice to wash down the mountains of food I was inhaling. I also enjoyed the yogurt, it's a thicker yogurt like a Greek yogurt and topped with honey and raisins. Again, a nice sweet/tart treat that didn't feel too heavy after everything else. I definitely need to come back as I didn't even get my big plate chicken but it'll be hard to choose between all the options. I'm a pretty big wing fan, so I was excited to try this place out. They have a list of their top flavors posted right in front of where you order, which made it a little easier to narrow things down. I ended up picking two from that list. I went with the garlic parmesan wings and the lemon pepper buffalo since those seemed to be two of the more favored options. I was slightly disappointed because with the amount of flavors they have, the sauces and rubs were good, but the wings themselves were not cooked crispy. They were a little on the softer side and slightly undercooked for my taste, which is why I ended up deducting a star. If the wings had been fried a bit longer and had that crispy bite, this probably would have easily been a five-star experience for me. I ordered inside and the customer service was really good. The staff was friendly and my food came out pretty quickly, which I appreciated. Flavor-wise everything was solid, so the potential is definitely there. I also snapped a picture of the menu because they run different specials throughout the week. Unfortunately I came on the weekend, so I wasn't able to take advantage of any of the weekday deals. The wings are a little pricey, but honestly that seems to be the going rate for wings these days. If I come back, I would probably just ask for the wings and fries to be cooked a little longer so they come out crispier. I'd also be curious to try more of the flavors since they have so many.
