Not the best bbq in Houston but people love it because it's halal. Definitely not authentic Texas bbq but it's halal bbq with a Mediterranean twist. Their brisket isn't my favorite. Everyone I've gone it's either too fatty or too dry. It's around 36$ a pound so the same price as your other bbq joints. The ribs I think are over priced. It was over cooked and dry. We paid 55$ for it which was ridiculous. It was 37$ a pound and they gave us a 1.5 pound rib. That was a rip off. The only sides I cared for was the potato salad. If you eat halal then I guess it's worth a try- if you don't eat halal then there's so many better options in the Houston area.
Food looked so good but prices did not. We got the $100 sampler platter. They are halal so no pork. Sausage was weird-- kinda dry and the inside fell into pieces. It had cheese in it. The other meats-- chicken, turkey and brisket were good. Overall pretty good experience. They're opening one in sugar land closer to me. Not sure I'll visit it again though as I've had better bbq
Levant BBQ is a halal style Texas BBQ fused with Mediterranean and Levantine flavors. Upon entering you are greeted with a huge open interior with modern spaces and can see the front line of the kitchen where they will prepare a plate of barbecue and sides of your choices. Their jalapeño cheese sausage was honestly the biggest hit for me over the brisket. Also, their sides are good. The seasonings on the barbecue meat in my opinion were a bit underwhelming and didn't give me a strong impression of the flavor profile, however, kept the rating high due to the quality texture.

Tried Levant BBQ (@levantbbq) for the first time recently, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was welcoming with a great outdoor setup and super friendly staff that made the experience even better. We ordered the Habibi Feast, which is perfect for sharing and gives you a little bit of everything. It came with brisket, turkey, chicken, and sausage--and every protein was cooked to perfection. The brisket was tender with a beautiful smoke ring, the turkey was juicy, and the chicken had a great flavorful crust. For sides, we went with mac and cheese, creamed corn, potato salad, and fried okra. Honestly, all of them hit--especially the creamy mac and cheese and the fried okra, which had a perfect crunch. We also tried the brisket shawarma, and that was a standout. It's a really cool fusion of Texas BBQ and Mediterranean flavors--smoky, saucy, and packed with flavor in every bite. Overall, this spot brings a unique twist to traditional BBQ with its Mediterranean influence. Great food, great service, and a solid atmosphere--definitely a place I'll be coming back to. Highly recommend if you're in Houston and want something different from your usual BBQ spot.
This is quickly becoming our favorite day date place. The meat is halal and delicious. We didn't have to wait long for our food, because you just go down-the-line and choose what you want. And so that makes it perfect if you don't have much time for a quick date. Everything is already cooked to perfection. We ended up not getting the ribs, because of the weight of them, but we did get the lean brisket and the fatty brisket and the lamb chops. Unfortunately, the fatty brisket tastes delicious and so we have to get more of that next time! We will definitely be getting that over the lean brisket. Lamb chops are usually my favorite thing, but I did not like the smokiness of them. Personally, I wouldn't not get them again. I love that they had refills for their drinks, can I especially like that they had ice cream. I definitely needed something a little sweet after all that savory. All of these things absolutely sealed the deal for me and I can't wait to see them again soon!

The service was warm and welcoming, our server Jana was really nice. The food was excellent. We loved the brisket, and the fact that it's halal is a major plus. Overall, a great experience.
Everything we tried was delicious especially the jalapeño cheddar sausage. We also ordered the brisket and chicken. My favorites were the chicken and sausage. The chicken wasn't your typical seasoning either. The sides we had were beans and hummus. The beans were flavorful and the hummus could have been served with a side of pita or chips. That and a little brisket were the only things left over. They also offer self serve soft ice cream. I thought it was very creamy and delicious. Not sure if it's because I hadn't had ice cream in a while or if it was really that good.
I am not sure if I got served the same food that all these other influencers on social media are posting because my brisket was salty, my chicken dry, and the sausage even drier that it almost broke my fork. I hate to write negative reviews but I honestly feel like not even the sides made up for the fact that the food was either salty or just dry. The brisket I got was kind of smoky but extremely salty and fatty. I liked that it wasn't totally dry like their chicken and the sausage. The chicken had a lot of smoky flavor but I didn't really taste anything else from the rub. Thankfully it was tender so I was able to enjoy that with the pomegranate sauce from their self-serve condiment bar. The sausage was extremely dry and had no flavor. I didn't know what I was eating. As far as the sides go we got the mac and cheese, the cucumber and dill yogurt, the potato salad, and the coleslaw. The mac and cheese was just ok. The potato salad was probably my favorite thing that I tried along with the yogurt side with the cucumber and dill. The coleslaw had a slightly warm temperature so I am not sure if it was supposed to taste like that or not but it just didn't taste right to me. I would love to go back and give them another chance because everyone was super friendly and were able to answer my questions when I was in line. They did get busy when we were halfway done with our meal and the food looked better and fresher for these folks as they were coming out to sit down.
We had a great experience at this bbq spot. The brisket melts in your mouth, the Mac n cheese was creamy, and the staff was very kind and hospitable.
They were open on Christmas day. We enjoyed a one meat plate with 2 sides. The sides were fried okra and hummus and sliced moist end brisket....tasty. My wife got her a loaded baked tater with a side of fried okra.

My friend ordered the brisket sandwich along with some cream corn. * moist brisket- not very smoky nor enough bark to call this a good brisket but it wasn't bad. I did like that it was tendered & fatty. 3/5 * sausage- terrible. Extremely dry like it's been in the smoker for days. Probably the worst sausages I've ever had. Even the store ones taste better. It was so bad that I had to toss it in the trash. 0/5 * Mac & Cheese- it was a little too runny for my liking. Not that creamy or cheesy. It also didn't have any flavor. But passable for a cafeteria Mac & Cheese. 2/5 * Saffron rice- simple. Tasted like yellow rice. 1.5/5 * Brisket sandwich- the bread wasn't toasted but it was good in quality. Decent portions of brisket. 3/5 * cream corn- probably the best thing they had to offer. It was creamy but not as sweet since I think they added cheese into the corn. 3.5/5 * baklava- not bad. Crispy and flaky. 3/5 * bbq sauces- both were decent. Tangy & vinegary. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with my experience at this location. The food didn't live up to the hype. The portions were a bit small for the price & didn't match up with the quality. The ambiance is chill & they have a good amount of seating. Will I come back? Not any time soon but I'll give them one more chance.

Every bite you eat has a delicious flavor ! The steaks are tender / flavor/ delicious overall. The service is excellent! We had 23 guest yesterday and the entire table was reserved for our guest as it was a B-day. Staff Anna- she brought a nice Ice Cream cake and had excellent b-day music and we all sang and enjoyed the entire experience. Overall this place is 100/100 with everything. It's a little pricy but well worth the quality & taste. read more
While visiting Houston, we wanted to find some great halal barbecue and came across Levant. There were three of us, and we each ordered a plate with a choice of one or two meats, two sides, and a few extras. We tried the turkey, brisket, and jalapeño sausage, and every one of them was delicious. The brisket was especially impressive--moist, incredibly tender, and so soft you didn't even need a knife to cut it. The sides were very good, but the meats were definitely the highlight of the meal. One thing we really appreciated was the toppings bar, which included pickles, onions, pickled onions, jalapeños, and two different barbecue sauces so you could customize each bite. They even had a mini soft-serve ice cream machine for a little dessert after your meal, which was a nice touch. They also offer family meal options, making it a great choice for larger groups. The restaurant was clean, had plenty of seating, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. If you're looking for excellent halal barbecue in the Houston area, Levant is definitely worth a visit! read more

I never thought I'd see a Mediterranean BBQ place! You're met with a cool modern yet classic Texas vibe as soon as you walk in. The kitchen line has lots of workers happy to help with questions and let you see/try anything you are not sure about as they have some non-traditional options for a BBQ place. Having said that, all the food options work so well together. I got brisket and chicken. Chicken was fine but I'd skip it and go brisket all the way. It was so tender and juicy. They have several sauce options. You can't go wrong with any. They were in the middle of construction/expansion but there are still lots of seating options in or outside. I would definitely go back here instead a typical BBQ place. The flavors just hit so well together. And the Mediterranean style is clearly a healthier option. I've heard great things about Levant BBQ and had to try during my visit to Houston. I had the brisket, sausage, brisket sandwich, as well as the cole slaw, Mac and cheese, and creamed corn. After you get your food there is a sauce and toppings bar to the side. Let's get into the food: Brisket: it was lukewarm, not as hot as I would have liked. The meat wasn't as moist or juicy as I would have liked either. It was just okay Sausage: they made their sausages a different way with breadcrumbs? It was either that or some sort of filler ingredient, which made it unique. I wasn't a fan because I didn't really taste much of the meat. Mac and cheese: just your average Mac and cheese, nothing special Cole slaw: there wasn't much mayo in it so it tasted healthier. I didn't really like it, but others may. Creamed corn: average. Not much else to say about this one. BBQ sauce: again, average. Not great, but by no means bad. Overall, Levant is a one and done for me. I just wanted to see what the hype was about when it first opened and now I have. With the many BBQ joints in Houston though, I would not consider them one of the best. read more
Good but not great, in a town with great bbq. My biggest problem with it is it isn't Texas style bbq. Not very smoky, and no real bark. The brisket and the ribs are tender, and I thought I would love it because there's no pork (messy cutting areas at BBQ places are unpleasant, there was no risk of pork juice getting on my brisket). But it just didn't have the right smoky, peppery flavor profile. The people are nice, and there's free ice cream. But I brought a visiting family member and felt let down that it wasn't real Texas BBQ. Way too expensive to miss the mark this badly. 3* read more

It was getting late at night and I was craving some BBQ. I ended up at Levante BBQ. I ordered a Chopped Brisket Sandwich. I think I enjoyed it enough to satisfy the craving but wasn't blown away. The bun was really good. It might of stole the show. The Jalapeños and Onions out-flavored the Brisket on the Sandwich. The service was good. It didn't take long for me to get through the line. Definitely had plenty of Mediterranean sides as options. The decor is definitely Mediterranean mixed with Texas style. read more

After doing a decent amount of research on BBQ spots in Houston for my first visit, I stumbled upon this place, and I am so glad I did. I don't even know where to begin! The service is beyond believable--absolutely amazing. The staff are such kind, warm-hearted people. I came straight from the airport at 9 PM and called them in advance, and they kindly had my plate completely ready for me the moment I arrived. As for the food--oh my goodness! The creativity behind blending Mediterranean sides with classic Texas BBQ is pure genius. I loved how beautifully everything paired together. The meat is so tender and flavorful it doesn't need any sauce whatsoever; I just sat there savoring every single bite. I cleaned my entire plate, and halfway through the meal, I honestly thought to myself, "Maybe I need to move to Houston." My parents live in Dallas, and I have already texted them to recommend they check out Levant's other location up there! Atmosphere is cozy and very family friendly read more

Had a very good experience despite coming in late, everything was delicious and the customer service was on point for sure. Daniel gave all kinds of information about BBQ in the area as well after I had explained I was from Ohio. To push things even further he brought me out a beef rib on the house to try. Most friendly staff and owner working behind the glass. The aesthetic of this place is spot on with a gorgeous patio as well as indoor seating. $21 for 1 meat, 2 sides, 2 slices of bread and unlimited pickles, jalapeños, onions, sauces, etc. But trust me and upgrade to $24 for 2 meats because the meat portion increases even if you only get one meat. I almost died when I saw the free vanilla soft serve. All meat is halal and brisket was phenomenal. They also had turkey and sausage but the sausage was out. Chicken is available as well but not as a platter option. Baked potato could've been a tad softer and pass on the mac and cheese. Do go for the potato salad and creamed corn. Levant BBQ is a lovely add to the Houston landscape. read more

The brisket sandwich was very good! Meat had great flavor, didn't even touch the bbq sauce. Don't forget the pickled onions, soooo good on top! Mac & cheese was decent. Could use some more salt, and a stronger cheese. Pistachio baklava was flaky with a delicate flavor. Definitely will recommend this place to others! read more
I can see why this place isn't that busy. Or trending . Normally bbq places thrive in this area. But I ordered a two meat plate which is 25$ plus tax. Get brisket and sausage. The guy only gave me 2 slices of brisket , so they skimp a lot here. One sausage link which is about average . The brisket was decent nothing special , it's a bit over cooked . The sausage has no snap too it. It's a below average sausage . The Mac and cheese isn't cheesy or creamy enough it's pretty bland . The corn they make is decent. Overall I would say this place is just an average bbq place , nothing special . It was underwhelming tbh read more

Seriously the best meat I've ever tried in my LIFE. And my family is in the cattle industry so honestly I was just as shocked. Pls do yourself a favor and go try their brisket. The way it just melts in your mouth is mind blowing, the okra was crunchy and amazing, honestly everything was so beyond what I expected. 100/10 recommend I will definitely be back. Everyone was so kind and the decor is so Texas cute. Sorry my phone did not get to eat first. read more

I got the beef rib. I saw the picture in yelp and couldn't resist. Is this worth $60? Absofrickinlutely!!! Place is quiet with middle eastern music. These people can smoke some beef ribs!! Service was great. Fast. What I love the most is there was about 7 tables and there were different ethnicities, faith, races, and religions all eating together here. I pay attention to things like this. The world needs more of it. A lot of couples too. I am here by myself on business and this was a great choice!!! read more
