First time eating here. I had the goat curry and wife had the chicken biryani. Wife loved her meal and the goat was delicious. Also the garlic nan and mango lassi was on points!!! The guy serving us was very kind and sociable. Wish I'd had taken picture of the food but dug into it when it got served. LOL. We had a great time. This is my 2nd time visiting this restaurant and I am trying the Saag chicken since it is prepared in the Northern Indian style. This dish comes with rice, however naan is extra. I asked if they served any alcohol, alcoholic beverages, and was informed that they have plans to start selling alcohol within the next 3 to 4 months. I inquired if they were going to have a full barn with a bartender and was told that they plan to start slow by just selling certain alcoholic beverages initially then overtime increase the number of items that are offered. I made my order to go so I could take pictures of my food before I forgot to take pictures. It seems that currently most of their business is takeout. Takeout business is brisk. I've seen three or four while waiting for my food to be prepared. In my opinion the Saag Chicken is prepared in the Southern style, in spite of what the manager said. My food is piping, hot and delicious. The server brought me a plate and silverware when he saw me opening my dishes. He returned with a glass or water also, I love this attention to detail it can make an average experience memorable. Pearland's expansion of Indian cuisine has been a welcomed endeavor -- even more so when the restaurant provides excellent service. From the moment I entered, Sri approached me with a level of hospitality I did not expect. I ordered the chicken dum biryani and garlic naan which he brought out in less than 10 minutes. He consistently checked in to make sure I had enough water, sauces, and napkins. The chicken dum biryani checks all the boxes for me. It's delicious and well spiced with a proper ratio of chicken to rice. The yogurt and peanut sauce compliments the biryani incredibly well when mixed in. I asked for a second serving of both sauces to cover the entire dish. For only $13.99 and a serving big enough to partially save for later, it's well worth the price. And of course, no Indian restaurant experience is complete without ordering some naan on the side; their garlic naan passes the (hard to fail) standard. This restaurant recently moved one plaza over, now neighboring China Cafe and 24 Hour Fitness. Their interior certainly received an upgrade with ornate walls, increased space, and more color. It contributed to my overall dining experience quite pleasantly, especially when I think back to their old location. Sri really is the best. I recently picked up a side gig as a DoorDash delivery driver and returned an hour after dining in to deliver one of their orders. He gave me two complimentary patties (1 chicken, 1 egg) as a token of appreciation. This is a to go meal review- Me and my husband were cold and hungry during the freeze and double checked with them by calling they were open. We ordered on DoorDash- Chicken biryani Garlic naan Butter panner Pakoras It arrived still hot! The paneer came With rice, I noticed it was a bit on the sweeter end. I also think the base of the curry is made with water not milk or cream, the consistency I'm used to with indian food is different. It was mild! Which I appreciated since I cannot handle spicy food. Garlic naan was good! Pakoras were a bit too soft and oily for me but tasted good. All of this came with raita, what we thought was a sweet chutney and mint chutney but the sweet chutney might have ended up as biryani sauce? It was different! I didn't like the dosas - they were pretty dry, but I loved the idlis with the peanut chutney and tomato chutney. I also liked the pooris. Visited them before they moved to the new location. Loved it then but it's so much more comfortable and pretty than before. Love the mini colored fires. Food hasn't changed. So good. And our server was so sweet. We chatted about the future of the restaurant, introducing more Indian foods like specials and such. I love this place. The hakka noodles was such a disappointment that none of the kids ate them at all. They were just boiled noodles with some scattered vegetables here and there. I used to not like samosas, however, this place changed my mind about them. Love this place, and I will continue going here as long as they keep it up! My favorite thing here is the Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan. I know that's very typical to order, but they do it so well here. It's creamy and the chicken pieces are large, tender, and there's many. I got a few bones, but I didn't mind since the pieces were so big. The curry is on the sweeter side, however it's still good. The perfect amount of sweet buttery mixed with a hint of spice. The saag paneer was just like I like it - generous on the paneer. Wow, Biryani Express has definitely made improvements since my last visit two years ago! I decided to give this place another try today, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food here was some of the best Indian I've had in a long time. On this particular visit, I sampled a wide variety of dishes. I highly recommend the samosas here. They are so crispy and flavorful. The Poori Bhaji was also fantastic! The dough was a perfect combination with the potato and onion masala. It is an excellent breakfast option. The chicken tikka masala was packed full of flavor with exorbitant amounts of tender chicken breast. Overall, I had a much improved experience since my last visit. Now, local spots are really making their mark. Despite the increase, variety is still a little lacking in the land of Pears compared to Houston. When we're talking Pearland, you'll mostly find Chinese, Mexican, and new American spots. That's why it was so nice to see Biryani Express bringing some solid Indian food to the mix. Located in a shopping center right next to a small Indian grocery store, you can kill two birds with one stone here. Grab dinner and grab yourself some Indian goodies for future meals. I stopped by on a weekend for dinner. I placed my order by phone and went with an order of butter chicken and some naan. Biryani Express is a small and narrow restaurant and they used to have a buffet on some days pre-COVID. Now, I see it as much more of a grab and go type spot. Biryani Express features all of the Indian classics and more. What I found interesting is that butter chicken usually consists of small chunks of chicken. Here, the chunks are a lot larger. It's not a large portion size but the rice they give you definitely is. With an order of bread, you'll be more than full by end of your meal. read more

I really wanted to give this place 4.5 stars, but, I'll round up to 5 to be sweet. This was some of the better Indian food I've had. Nothing has ever beaten Lal Mirch in Los Angeles, CA, but these guys are swinging pretty close. Got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan, and the paneer tikka masala. Spice was nice although I'll try spicier next time. Garlic naan could use those cilantro shreds you find on the fancier naans. But overall the tikka masala sauce and the naan came together nicely - not overly sharp or sweet. If I had to ask for anything in it, maybe a little cream of coconut in the sauce to bring up that side of the flavor just a tad. I also wish they had Peshwari Naan, but maybe that's gauche to ask for from a Biryani restaurant... I am embarrassingly uneducated about India's regions and regional cuisine. read more
