Goat Roti

Goat roti is hard to come by... after seeing D'Caribbean on Tiktok, I had to try it! No one will ever beat my all-time favorite roti spot in South Florida but D'Caribbean definitely hit the spot! The roti portions are large! Definitely enough for 2!

Jerk Chicken and Beef Patty

The food here was amazing. I've been living in Pearland for almost 6 years and I never knew we had this wonderful place here. I got the Jerk Chicken with a beef patty on the side. The owner gave me roti on the house which was extremely flavorful. It has nice vibes in here, and will definitely be back with my lady.

Ordered some roti to go and ate some freshly made Doubles and Shrimp Roti in the shop. Also chicken roti . All were great and tasty . Served hot . Very nice family shop. Soft dhal Puri roti and doubles tender! We are from Trinidad and drove from Corpus Christi to take home some food for New Years Eve. After the long drive we enjoyed the best currants roll we have had in many years . Thanks for making our New Year's Eve feel like home !

This restaurant has been on my top favorite spots for years! Mo and his wife are from the island of Trinidad, and make the best Roti's (if not the only Roti) in town! Roti is a staple Trinidadian dish. It is a thin wrap usually stuffed with curry chick peas, potato, and a meat of your choice. I ordered a boneless curry chicken Roti for myself and a two meat plate with oxtail and curry chicken for my husband. The two meat plate comes with Rice and Peas, salad and plantains. Mo's wraps are very big! Usually I cut them in half and eat off of it twice. You choose the level of spiciness that you want. They are delicious!

Fantastic Chicken Roti Wrap & side chickpea wrap togo !!!

I know I just wrote a very recent review, but I never had a certain, very good menu item here until this past Saturday afternoon around lunch time. I ordered a Chicken Roti Wrap togo and got a small side chickpea wrap with it too. Very delicious, massive and really flavorful wrap that I will definitely get again in the future as I am already a huge fan of the jerk chicken plate and ox tails here. Now, a 3rd menu item. The roti wrap by itself was very tasty and doughy with a great texture like a homemade naan in burrito form. The filling was a mix of spicy, savory, tangy and a smidge sweet. I got it with boneless and bone-in chicken to get some dark meat in there as it's obviously superior to white meat. Even the white meat in this was very good with the curry sauce and everything in it. I love goat too and will try it with that next time, but gotta be in the mood to pick around all the bones. The green chili and curry vibes complimented the chicken, potatoes and chickpeas very nicely. Like myself, if you are a fan of Jamaican, Indian and Mexican foods, a roti wrap is a must-try at some point. It tasted like a mix of each in the meal, but not like some random fusion some people just throw together to sell. The side chickpea wrap was a bit sweeter and unique making a great bonus. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient. The owners are wonderful people who truly care about their guests and prepare awesome Caribbean cooking at this gem spot in Pearland.

There are not enough Jamaican establishments around and I'm so lucky that one of this caliber exists in Pearland, Texas. To my knowledge, it is a dynamic husband and wife duo operating the front desk and kitchen. And the owner generously shared a little bit about these foods to my friend and I, who are novices in Jamaican cuisine. Although learning about new dishes can be intimidating, he was welcoming and his introduction, sharing about the names, ingredients, and best sauce combos. He was even kind enough to give us a couple extra appetizer samples and sauces. Nothing beats oxtails on a bed of delicious rice and beans and savory cabbage. Any leftovers were demolished by my brother within minutes. This place is a gem and I'd recommend it to anyone who just loves hearty, saucy, well spiced food!

I stopped in for the doubles and I was not disappointed. Messy, flavorful, delicious, and nice and big. I would ask for extra pepper sauce if you like it spicy.

I am going to be honest in this review. I don't want to hurt a small business that is trying hard. This is my honest review. I stopped in to meet a friend for a weekday lunch about 1:00. I only saw one staff that I can remember. He was extremely busy packing up to-go, I believe. So I did not get a greeting or information on how to order. It was confusing to me as there were tables with goods for sale lined up which prevented customers from getting to the order counter, as far as I could see. I picked up a menu and sat down to wait for my friend to arrive. Another gentleman was there who had been to the restaurant years ago he said. Since I had never been to a Caribbean restaurant before, I asked him what he recommended. He suggested the Oxtails with rice and beans. My friend arrived and after looking at the menu, we went up to the only area of the counter that was close to the cook. I asked him what he recommended and he too said to get the oxtails. So that is what I got. The man was friendly, but very busy. We sat back down and shortly received our food. Now, my opinion of the oxtails. Maybe this is a treat for some, but I felt it was way too little meat for the price. I picked off what meat I could, ate some of the rice and beans, and left the rest of my plate. So, for those who like this type of dish, please don't go by my opinion. But for me, it was lacking in flavor and too pricey for what I received. I was also disappointed that the service was a bit lacking.

My mum and I stopped here recently and we didn't have a pleasant experience. We both were craving rotis. I got a veggie roti and she got the chicken roti. We both wanted plantains. Since Covid, they have the restaurant arranged to where there's no dining in. OK cool not a problem. As we placed our order and waited for it, the restaurant was terribly hot in the middle of July's hot summer heat. The wait time wasn't quick. There was a guy who came inside with his kids who addressed first before my mum and I. The guy who served us looked like he knew the man even giving him free food and his kids desserts. We were treated like second class citizens and not acknowledged immediately. We finally get our order. Drive home and began to eat. My mum absolutely loved her chicken roti sharing it with my sister and dad. She mentioned it was flavorful. My veggie roti was extremely bland. I got chickpeas and potato as a filling. It was awful. It tasted like nothing. The other option for filling was pumpkin; gross. Now the plantains: they were burnt to unrecognizable dried up tiny pieces. They were inedible. A waste of money. The guy serving us knew this, but yet still served us the plantains. I must mention this place is not cheap. For two rotis and a side of plantains, it was $35. Service sucks. Food is not consistent. Lacks major flavor. My family won't be back!

Oxtails

We came back to D'Caribbean Curry Spot on a weekend, about a week ago after a few years due to the pandemic and we are glad to see that this establishment has survived unlike many others in the industry that did not. We ordered plates of jerk chicken, oxtails and curried goat and were not disappointed and it tasted delicious just like before! As always, their serving size was big and one place is good for a couple to share. All of the dishes were packed of flavor, oxtails were really tender and the curried goat had a little bit of spice kick to it. The plantains makes a great compliment with each bite of the meats with rice. If we were to rank the three dishes we ordered, the oxtails would be at the very top, curried goat is next and then the jerk chicken. The service is good as usual, and the owner who takes your order would remember if you frequent their establishment. We can definitely recommend D'Caribbean Curry Spot if you are in the mood for some local fares.

This was my first time coming to the food truck park and I especially came because of this truck. The staff was so nice I really contemplated about this rating for this review, but when I think about the amount of money paid for my main entree and how I couldn't eat half of it and the spice levels didn't match my expectation, I came to this. A 3.5 would have been more accurate quite honestly but alas, yelp has its system. I ordered the bake and fried fish and the doubles. I asked for spicy on the doubles but they didn't taste too spicy - instead I used the sauce included on my bake n fish (possibly had some scotch bonnet peppers) and it was excellent. The bake and fish came as tacos - I don't think I realized that. It was good, but only two small tacos. The french fries were unfortunately burnt and therefore dry and inedible. I gave up on eating them. We were in a hurry, otherwise, I would have chatted with the staff about possibly getting some new fries. I would give this another try --I'd likely try a few other trucks first or at least have something to accompany my meal in addition to what I order from Krave.

I tried the sauce and it was so flavorful and savory. Would definitely get them if I ate beef. Now that curry mash! O my goodness, I never had it before but it was so good. It's not just mash potatoes and curry. The onions, peppers and other fresh seasonings set it off and I would get it again. The plantains were good, soft and sweet. The steamed veggies were so good and sautéed perfectly. I don't like them cooked too long and they had the perfect bite. The rice and peas were also good. They went perfectly with the meal and the seasoning was on point. The chicken curry patty I could've passed on. The outside was so flaky and good! I never had a patty like that but it was kind of cold and I had already gotten the curry chicken and thats exactly what it taste like, just in patty form, although the curry chicken meal was better. The chicken curry was sooo good and flavorful. I got a roti skin to sop up my curry but didn't care for it to much. It tastes like its made with wheat flour or germ flour and was a bit too thick‍ no shade to them. To be honest, I'm a 'bust up shut' roti kinda girl and everybody's is different and that's fine. Now, if they made the roti skin like they made the Jamaican patty, I would be in business. I ate quite a bit and STILL had a whole meal to take home with me and was full after finishing it. When I see people of the culture eating their own food its a good indication to me the food is good. There were a couple tables with a few Jamaican's enjoying it. We went the Saturday after Hurricane Beryl so the lights in the dining area were out probably due to heat, which I'm fine with. It wasn't too hot or cool even without the air on. It was a good time. Next time I'm getting the jerk chicken

The menu has no pricing, nor did the shelf with specialty items (i.e. caramel, currants roll, etc.). While I enjoyed the music, it was extremely loud for a Sunday morning breakfast. I got doubles and aloo pie to eat there. Sadly, neither one had flavor. I was so looking forward to a nice hot doubles with plenty pepper, and was truly disappointed. The aloo pie barely had potato. I ordered two Sunday lunch plates to-go. One was stew chicken & the other was BBQ chicken. Both were served with fried rice, macaroni pie, and potato salad. The stew chicken was dry. No sauce at all.
