Soooo good y'all! This was my first time trying Jamaican food and I'm glad that it was at Reggae Hut. The lady at the front let us try samples of their different curries and stews which was so sweet! It definitely helped us narrow down our decision and expose us to new flavors. We ordered the curry chicken and brown stew snapper. Their curry is honestly some of the best I've ever tried from any cuisine. Nice kick and incredible flavor and spices. I cleaned my plate thoroughly. The rice and veggies were solid. I loved their vibrant potato salad. The brown stew snapper was a tad bit salty and the portion was humongous... But the flavors were great as well. I think the brown stew pairs better with chicken when I tried it as a sample. The snapper was a bit dry in my opinion. Overall, a great first impression of Jamaican food and I must come back whenever I'm in the area!

Carl is a top notch professional! This was my first time here. I saw a flyer from my breakfast Klub order. I had no idea they were sister companies. Carl understands client relations! He is very personable and made some great menu suggestions! Food: I got the jerk chicken with oxtail sauce. It was different but good! I typically like my jerk chicken with skin on it. This one was skinless. The oxtail sauce was great! I'll definitely comeback and try the oxtails. The rice and peas were good too. Last the carrot cake was real good. Solid 5 stars. Carl is the best. I'll definitely be back soon! I must try them oxtails.

I ordered two large curry goats with rice, peas, and cabbage. It was outstanding. The meat was so soft, falling off the bone, and very flavorful. I thought plantains automatically came with the order, but they didn't. You have to order plantains separately. They are $4.95 for 8, and we ended up getting 10. So that was a nice surprise since it's unusual not to get plantains in the meal. But back to the food, everything was so delicious. There were even potatoes in the goat gravy. And, little nibbles of corn on the cob in the cabbage, which also came with broccoli and carrots. The vegetables were so soft and felt good going down. I also ordered some homemade lemonade which was a little on the sweet side but still very, very good. We parked in a small parking lot on the backside of the store. It's small inside, so we decided to park close by and enjoy our food in the car.

So I called in a jerk shrimp salad with extra ranch on side. Especially with the amount of food they serve here, I just knew I needed more. This was around 11am! Yes I wanted jerk in the morning. I'm not a big breakfast food eater. That salad was delicious! Then it was topped with grilled onions and peppers!!! I'm not sure but that ranch tastes home made! But this salad consists of cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, carrots, lettuce and jerk shrimp of course...

Had a hankering for beef patties and this place absolutely hit the spot!!!!! Had to sneak a bite before heading home, they smelled soooo good. They're usually ready made and the staff will heat up for you if to go - super quick in and out!

A classic Jamaican spot in the third ward area. I've been going here since I was a little girl and they've been pretty consistent. On majority visits I always get the brown stew chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. The sauce is thick, flavorful and has a subtle sweetness. There are some carrots and potatoes in the stew as well. I love the rice and peas as it's moist and you can taste the coconut as well as the fresh herbs in it. The cabbage is also good, sometimes it can use some salt but the flavor is there. I can never not come here and get a beef patty or chicken patty. I love them both and I always get a side of jerk sauce to dip it in. Great ambiance and vibes inside!!

Okay yall I had looked up this place as soon as I got to Houston and I'm glad to say it did not disappoint. The food was EXCELLENT, I tried the beef patty not shown which was delicious & for my main course k went with the jerk chicken. It was cooked perfectly, and seasoned with love. The vegetables were amazing that I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed them! 10/10 !!! Can't wait to come back next time I am in Houston

I had family visiting Houston and they wanted to try different foods. None of us have had too much experience with Caribbean food so we decided to order Reggae Hut. Pick up was easy, employees were super nice. We got: - the oxtails (10/10...soo tender, fatty and flavorful) -curry chicken (10/10, fall off the bone meat with the perfect amount of spice) -jerk chicken (7/10, loved the kick it had, the savoriness...chicken was a little dry) -the rice and peas, veggies, and potato salad balanced out the saltiness of the entrees well -beef patties had a delicious flaky crust I will be craving the oxtails. Will most likely order again soon

This is my second time getting takeout. My first takeout of goat curry with vegetable medley and rice was ok, came with an acceptable amount of meat curry so I thought to myself that was a good meal and I would go back. But this time, the quality and value of it was not consistent. Still tastes decent but absolutely Overpriced. Got the a la carte shrimp dish and the goat curry. How is this a $40 takeout? And the goat curry is mostly bones this time. The pictures are taken before a single bite was eaten.

First here. Parking for the restaurant is in the rear of the building. I placed an order online and it was ready upon arrival. I like the promptness and timeliness. I ordered the curry got and I love that they give a decent amount of curry goat which has big chunks. Most places skimp on goat and gives smaller bites but I appreciate the portion size. I did order double rice & peas. Ambiance wise, typical Caribbean restaurant vibes; nothing fancy just casual spot to eat and hangout with friends.

I forgot to get our servers name but she was great and it didn't take too long for us to get our food besides the patties being made fresh to order. The beef, chicken and spinach patties were all fresh, flaky, crispy, and well seasoned with the perfect amount of spice. I had brown stew chicken with rice/peas, cabbage/carrots and plantains and my niece had jerk chicken with white rice, plantains and greens. All the food was good except I felt they skimped on my chicken portion a little and my chicken could've used a little more spice. It was cooked perfectly though, very tender and even though the portion was smaller than I'm used to it was just the right amount for me to eat during lunch, just not enough to take home for later like I'm used to doing at other Caribbean spots. We ended up getting patties, plantains and jerk chicken to go. Also, the patties were fresh and piping hot but the rest of our food was warm, almost room temperature.

Thank god we found this!…read more After finishing our lunch at Wrap & Roll, we saw this out of the corner of the eye and decided to stop here as the girlfriend was looking for some caribbean snacks. Being from St Croix island in the Virgin Islands, seeing the menu and taking in the smells of this place gave her memories of back home. Of course I was happy to indulge her request as it gave me an opportunity to try some handheld eats. First the beef pattie, pretty big and so savory with the meat melting in your mouth and the dough having a nice texture and crust. And then the saheena; OMG! It was my first time having this lovely pastry which is made of chickpeas, spinach, and caribbean spices. You'll be hooked on this after one bite. Texture was similar to a savory piece of cornbread. Of course I was very happy with this item. The girlfriend ordered a currant roll which had some sweetness to it with a flaky crust. I enjoyed it but not as much as I was scarfing down my beef pattie and saheena. They also serve traditional caribbean eats including jerk chicken, oxtails, bake & saltfish, and roti wraps. We noticed a lot of people place to go orders here and call ahead for pick up. There were several bags of eats waiting as we witnessed people roll in and pick them up while having small talk with the owners. All those items looked delicious and we plan to come back and try those out. We also talked to the owners for a bit, they're a husband/wife team who've owned/operated this place for a while. Super polite and gracious, they helped me navigate the menu and explained what the items would be like when I ordered. Sadly I could not get the Aloo Pie (sold out) but they assured me it's worth having and to come back and try it (which we will). Pearland is lucky to have this place here. It's not just mash potatoes and curry. The onions, peppers and other fresh seasonings set it off and I would get it again. The plantains were good, soft and sweet. The steamed veggies were so good and sautéed perfectly. I don't like them cooked too long and they had the perfect bite. The rice and peas were also good. They went perfectly with the meal and the seasoning was on point. The chicken curry patty I could've passed on. The outside was so flaky and good! I never had a patty like that but it was kind of cold and I had already gotten the curry chicken and thats exactly what it taste like, just in patty form, although the curry chicken meal was better. The chicken curry was sooo good and flavorful. I got a roti skin to sop up my curry but didn't care for it to much. It tastes like its made with wheat flour or germ flour and was a bit too thick‍ no shade to them. To be honest, I'm a 'bust up shut' roti kinda girl and everybody's is different and that's fine. Now, if they made the roti skin like they made the Jamaican patty, I would be in business. I ate quite a bit and STILL had a whole meal to take home with me and was full after finishing it. When I see people of the culture eating their own food its a good indication to me the food is good. There were a couple tables with a few Jamaican's enjoying it. We went the Saturday after Hurricane Beryl so the lights in the dining area were out probably due to heat, which I'm fine with. It wasn't too hot or cool even without the air on. It was a good time.
