Gyro Lamb Salad
Joyce R.

I was looking for a legit Mediterranean restaurant and I found one. I was greeted and it was explained how to order. I decided on the gyro lamb salad. And the portion was HUGE. My side was humus and warm flat bread. I was going to leave but was drawn into the eating area. It looked like I was in another country. The decor was like being on vacation. I definitely recommend this as a get away lunch spot.

Ali Baba platter Fruit Salad Tabouli Three Beans Salad Hummus and Pita Ezme Salad and Pita

Soooo... I am sad to leave a 3* as no doubt the food is probably good. The problem is that you ruin the flavor of everything when all of the salads are piled on top of each other. I can't tell the tabouli from three bean or anything else. Unfortunately it's one of my favorites. I was looking forward to it, by the way. Everything is mixed together, except for fruit and hummus. The falafel hurts my feelings as it wants to be good but seems a lil over cooked and cold. I'm sorry. Please separate the salads into containers. Please!!!

I believe I know my Medertanian food very well and I must tell you all..... Ali Baba is da bomb! Lol..... I got the Lamb Gyro combo with Medertanian pasta/ feta cheese & Greek salad! I got all of this for $16.00 plus tax. Chef Ahmet and Manager Jojo made a killer lunch for myself and had to get a box to take half of it home. Mmmmm- yummy!

Mediterranean platter with feta pasta salad, dolma, falafel, bean salad, ezme, hummus, baba ghanoush, tabouli, and greens salad
Anna A.

An amazing hole-in-the-wall place with extraordinary vegetarian and veggie options. The $14 Mediterranean platter is absolutely massive. It comes with a pita, dolma, falafel, bean salad, tabouli, greens salad, ezme (a bell pepper / tomatoey sauce), hummus, baba ghanoush, and feta pasta salad. It is so big that 3 people could split it as a MEAL. Almost everything tasted yummy and flavorful and healthy. I wasn't a fan of the pasta salad but otherwise loved the humungous portions and variety of options. I would absolutely come back here again. The baklava (doesn't seem made in store) was very soggy and syrupy so would skip. The man at the counter was very kind and generous. Seating is in another room with comfortable pillows and benches. Very cozy.

I was in Atlanta for a couple days, staying near Little Five Points. Friday night I took a trip to the Mediterranean from Ali Baba. I picked up a large, delicious bowl of perfectly spiced and marinated lamb, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and feta in yellow rice from the restaurant. Huge pools of Babaganush and hummus were on the side to drop the lamb in. Combined, this was such a special, local dinner treat! And definitely large enough portions of deliciousness for at least two people! If you're local to Atlanta, this place should be on your order list on at least a monthly basis.

First of all, it's so stunning when you walk in. We had an awesome server who was personable, chill, and friendly. We ordered the Hormuz island, Dill labneh, Sabzi polo, and Chinjeh. The drinks are always so fresh and delicious and the food...omgggg to die for. I'm still dreaming of that dill labneh. For dessert, they were kind enough to bring my boyfriend an ice cream - it was orange-y tasting and so refreshing and delicious. We had a great time and I can't wait to come back!

Don't leave Atlanta without trying this place. Overall - 5/5 Food - 5/5 Adana Kebab - 5/5 - this was the first time I had something like this. It was honestly delicious and really stood out. Sooo good, juicy, and flavourful. Labneh - 4.2/5 - Really liked this: it's like a whipped yogurt. The dill one was nice too and probably ordered that one a bit. Bandia Olivieh - 4/5 - this is another type of dip ish dish... really good but I liked the labneh more I'd say. Chicken Kofta - 4.2/5 - so flavourful and tasty. As a chicken lover, this was my next favourite after the Adana. So good. Service - 5/5 - We came here back in July (catching up on reviews). Our server, Max, was so great. Very positive, happy, and just an awesome server overall. Truly one of the best service I've ever had. Ambiance - 5/5 - Very busy, but a beautiful ambiance. Dim lighting with a cultural middle eastern feel. Honestly was so great and we're to the stellar dining experience.

Let me just tell you, that this recommendation did NOT disappoint. The moment I dipped my pita into the lamb hummus I already knew this was about to be one of my favorite meals and boy was I correct. From the lamb hummus, to the grilled veggies, the chicken kebob to the rack of lambs- everything was truly delectable!!!! Ofc we couldn't skip on dessert. We got the burnt honey pistachio cake that was both of our favs and the mahlab s'mores sundae that was also incredibly good. Our service was really great w/ our server giving us incredible recommendations. And the ambiance was so chic. The bar was truly stunninggggg!!! If you're in the Atlanta area and have a chance to check this place out, absolutely do not sleep on it!!!

Our salad, vegetables, herbs, and wine were five stars, but the meats were all cold. We had to send all meats back three times. This is unacceptable in any restaurant. The manager did not apologize or even try to do anything. She failed. Our server/Asser was/is five stars. Great service, courtesy, and very professional. The review deserves to be one star, but due to the facility, server, and food is five stars, we had to rate it higher. The cooking team and manager failed miserably. So overall it's three stars max, until they can get their act together. Hoping to see improvement as we really like this restaurant and food... Sincerely

Yalda has indoor and outdoor seating but the outdoor seating is covered so it can get quite hot and humid. We preferred to sit inside. It's a really pretty restaurant from the inside and an open kitchen concept. I really enjoyed the chicken Shish kabob, lamb Koobideh, lamb shawarma wrap, and chicken bites. Our favorites were the fries that came with the wrap and the chicken bites! Lots of flavor and tender. Delicious. The food was very fresh and service was nice as well. Everything came timely and correctly. Enjoyed our visit!

We started our dinner with the Zatar labneh which was SO GOOD! And it came with plenty of soft pita which is so different than most Persian spots where you have to keep asking for more bread. We then shared the koobideh kabob, Chilean sea bass, and Cornish hen. The sea bass was absolutely incredible and is a must get! I thought the hen was good too but koobideh kabobs just aren't my thing usually. I usually like saffron rice at other Persian spots better but I really enjoyed the shirin polo. Overall Yalda is a great spot! It doesn't stand out too much compared to the other Persian restaurants because I think they're all good, but if you're in the area I would recommend!

We ordered musakhan rolls, which were warm at best and really heavy on the cinnamon and or all spice. The lamb was overcooked and look like someone had eaten part of it before it made it to the table. We've been to several mediterranean restaurants but won't come back to this one. The za'atar chicken was perfectly seasoned and incredibly juicy, the lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor, the dip trio was fresh and delicious (you can't go wrong with any of them), and the grape leaves were some of the best we've had. What really made the experience exceptional, though, was our server, Camila. She wasn't just 5 stars--she was 10 stars. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and she made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we sat down. You know where this is so you know that you're gonna have to worry about paying for parking because look at the area that you're in. Just keep that in mind but there are plenty of parking structures around . The service was great. The two women that were working the front were excellent and they helped me along trying to make my decision. They were super nice and friendly and definitely worth speaking to because of their friendly demeanor . Everything I've had here has been great, absolutely amazing. I'm really hard on Mediterranean food only because where I grew up it was easy to find Mediterranean food because so many people from that side of the world put roots there. Finding some good chicken shawarma was easy. I haven't actually found a lot of that around the Atlanta area but there are a few good ones. This one is solid and did not miss. I loved it and I would definitely go back. Chicken shawarma (platter) - so the platter comes with two sides and an entrée. Everything was good. The chicken shawarma was very good and flavorful and it was super tender and I love that because it wasn't like it was sitting there all day. It was something I would definitely go back for. I may even get a wrap next time but the actual platter served me really well and it was great. roasted potatoes - my first side was potatoes and it's hard to mess up roasted potatoes. You just season it and stick it in the oven I guess but either way they were very moist and you got plenty of them. They were seasoned very well Grilled veggies - the grilled veggies were pretty good. I mean I have nothing to complain about. They were vegetables and they were seasoned as well so nothing wrong with that but they were just vegetables. It's not like it was a main course kind of situation but for a side they were a really good side choice . Creamy chicken soup - now let me get to the star of the show. This soup is amazing to me. I don't know what it is about it. Maybe it has something in it but it is amazing. I could actually get a big bowl of it and call it a day. The soup is creamy and savory and has bits of the chicken in there so it's also seasoned very well. I don't know what it is about this soup but this soup is gold to me. In any event yes I liked everything I got, yes I would go back, yes the soup is amazing, all the things LOL. They have a rosemary chicken that is supposed to be the best seller but I didn't come for that. I would definitely try that next time. I was very satisfied with what I got!
