So delicious- I randomly stopped by as I was running errands in Burbank last night and wanted a semi healthy meal (I say semi because I had lots of evil rice and crispy pita which you know are deep fried). I saw the yelp reviews and decided to take a detour here and it was worth it! It's in a random shopping plaza- at night it's easy to miss because it's actually tucked towards the back of the plaza and you enter where the Starbucks is. At night I missed the sign (because it wasn't visible from the direction I was coming from) and had to u-turn to go back. There is ample parking and it's located on the far left side inside. The interiors is a basic no frills set up, a couple of tables and chairs and 2 tvs by the door. You walk to the back to place the order- when I was there, 2 tables were occupied so it wasn't too busy. I ordered their chicken shish kebab plate and asked for the fatoush salad instead of the salad- there was a $1 upcharge for that but I was fine with that. I really wanted to get the fried kibbeh but I resisted because I didn't want to have too many fried things (I just went nuts at Porto yesterday so needed to calm down). I did not mention that I wanted it for takeout but they had it in a container for me (they never asked me and I never told them either...). I still ate there anyways- the food did take a good 10-15 minutes to make so at least it was fresh. So let's talk about the food- the chicken shish is usually a very basic meat, I've had my fair share of it having worked at an Armenian banquet hall and also from living by Glendale. This one was super flavorful and juicy, it was delightful! And I really loved the rice pilaf- it was a little different than the typical plain basmati/long grain rice they use at middle eastern restaurants, this had little pieces of thin noodles mixed in and you know they used lots of butter (delish). The fatoush salad was tasty too, with crunchy pita bits and some pickled radishes, tomatoes and lettuce-so glad I got this and not the regular salad. It also came with some pita and hummus- their hummus was pretty good but not my favorite that night, I will have to try their baba ghannouj next time because that's usually my favorite (over hummus). The total for my bill came out to $13.75 including tip- not bad for a lot of tasty food. I will definitely be back and want to try other items on their menu. read more

If I could have Aleppo Kitchen everyday I would. All their food is fresh and delicious! I have tried a lot of their food and everything has been delicious. My personal favorites (which are a lot) include the falafel, sarma, Greek salad, cheese bourek, and the french fries. Oh and the rice. If there's one thing you have to try it's the rice! It's so flavorful and glistening with just the right amount of oil. They're always very punctual when we order to go and the times we have dined in they have been extremely friendly. This is a great location for fresh Mediterranean food. Hummus is on point the rice wonderful and the Chicken Shawarma is very tasty, one of the few places I've found that makes their shawarma with lean chicken breast and not the cheaper dark meat cuts with a lot of fat. They also have a very good falafel that is shaped a bit different than the ordinary ball, very good and the tahini is fresh made and well balanced in flavor. I actually like the food here and it's one of the only places who's falafel isn't dry but I can't give them more than 2 stars. First off, I can't ever eat here as it's actually depressing inside. The colors, the tables, the entire vibe is just off. I can't explain it, if you've been here you know what I'm talking about. Other than that, the owners are extremely unpleasant. They never even say hello when you walk in. All they do is take your order/money/push the bag of food towards you without saying a single word. They really seem miserable being there. A little hidden spot on Glenoaks just off Scott Road - was bookmarked and on my list for over 2 years, but finally got to try it during COVID. It is in the mall area but facing back towards Scott Road/the parking lot - takes some effort to find if you are not familiar with the area. Cute spot - lots of funny food related (mostly kabobs) jokes on the wall. I ordered online and was told approximately 20 minutes for pick up. When I got there 20 minutes later the food was not quite ready - about a 5 min wait. Everything tasted fresh. Generous portions on the hummus and meat. We tried almost one of each of the fried appetizers and the cheese roll was unanimously the best. The beef Kafta was different than your normal luleh/chicken/beef/sharwma Mediterranean options and felt like a spiced meat quesadilla - delicious. read more

I previously gave this place 5 stars. Some of their plates are great. Their chicken shawarma plate and falafel plate to name a couple. But over the past year, they got rid of some of their unique options, like a great dessert they made, and I just had a chicken shawarma wrap which was the size of taquito or a thin hot dog. So my family is from Syria and we had high expectations of this place. I ordered their shawarma which was decently good, but scores second tier from other places where we've had a similar shawarma. Here's where it went sour. We ordered the babaganoush and it tasted 95% hummus and maybe even 5% eggplant. This was a huge let down as we have never tasted babaganoush with so much hummus. It was basically hummus in our opinion. Since this was our first time trying this place, this ended up being our last - sadly because we hoped to continue to support businesses especially from countries where my family reigns. Ok. I have been coming here weekly for a year. It gets better. The Kafta and Muhamara are my favorites. We get the four person plater and never have left overs. The pita is so thin and pliable that you don't get full from them. Rice is flavorful. Service is warm. read more

If food is good but the service is HORRIBLE, I would never go back again. I wanted to order take out for my workers. Just to note: we are on a time crunch. I called the orders in one by one at 3:15PM and the guy said they would be ready by 4:00PM. I said we didn't need it until 4:15PM. I send someone to pick up the food with the list of everything we ordered at 4:15PM to find out that he didn't even start making the food! It's FINALLY ready at 4:45PM. After paying, the guy gives my worker a hard time about a low tip and argues with him to tip more. REALLY?! People normally don't tip when they do take out orders but I do. However, if you don't have the orders ready when you say you will and are rude, you don't deserve as much. My worker arrives with the food and we go through each one. 5 of the orders were wrong. I send my worker back with the wrong order to get the correct orders. My worker comes back telling me that the same guy made him pay for the correct orders that HE got wrong. The guy said that we were wrong and wouldn't give us the correct orders unless we paid for them. I understand that people make mistakes but when you don't own up to your mistake and make the customer pay for it, that is NOT acceptable. I will NEVER come back here EVER again! read more

Best Mediterranean food ever It's super clean and healthy and feels like homemade food

My boyfriend and I came here after looking at the Yelp reviews. We had a great dining experience!! The owners are extremely friendly and made me want to come back. We wanted to try out every meat so we ordered the combination plate (#34 I think?). The chicken was tender (my boyfriend's favorite), ground beef was so delicious (my favorite), filet mignon was as expected. Their hummus was delicious as well! My pallet wasn't used to the spices in the dressing they put on the salad, which I'm sure has to do with my ethnic background, but it seemed fresh. We decided to be adventurous by trying out the yogurt drink (the owner warned us that it was salty) and it tasted exactly as described. I'd come back again - it was a great experience! read more

So after a year of browsing yelp and seeing nothing but good things about Aleppo kitchen I decided to finally give it a try. I noticed on yelp there was a button to "order now". So I went ahead and clicked the button powered by eat 24. I then began to make my order. Tawok shish, Fatoush Salad, and and Kabob-Shish-Kafta. I figured my family and I could get a good taste of everything this way. I went through the ordering process and about 45 mins later a friendly delivery man was at my door. Unfortunately I was only able to tip a few dollars. Since there was no area to tip at time of delivery on my credit card. (Sorry delivery guy you deserved more) I was so excited. We rushed to get the food on the table and opened up the boxes. To our surprise. The pictures we looked at on yelp and what we were seeing packed in these to go boxes were in fact two different things. Now to not judge a book by its cover we decided to do the taste test. I would say out of the everything the chicken was probably the best tasting and ideally looking. The fattoush salad we ordered seemed old as the lettuce leaves were wilted and the pita chips were soaked in dressing. Now the kafta. As shown and my pictures the portion was very small. Two breakfast sausage looking pieces, rice, hummus and pickled vegetable that took the place of the salad that was listed on the menu. Id say for living in burbank all my life this was very disappointing. I thought to myself immediately the price only being 8.95 per plate and delivery should justify this. I just couldn't get over it. Yelp had done me wrong. The pictures were so deceiving. Even for take out. I could have taken a 2 minute drive to zankou and gotten better quality and value at what seems like a fast food kebob chain. I will not recommend this place. 3 stars. Decent portion on the Chicken Shawarma plate. Swapped out the salad for tabouleh for an additional $1.50. The plate standard is $11. So what's pictured was roughly $14 with tax. Decent, but not totally worth it for me. The shawarma was a little different spice-wise than I've had before. Not a bad thing or good thing. The rice had a nice richness to it. Tabouleh was average. The chicken shawarma wrap was only $7. You get what you pay for portions-wise. Comes with tomato and pickles. A little lackluster. The bread wrap itself had a great flavor. The service started off a little cold, but warmed up eventually. My partner wanted the garlic sauce on the side and got some weird pushback. He was eventually granted the sauce on the side. The sauce itself was tasty, as expected. Front staff were both wearing face coverings amid COVID.
