We took the light rail from the new Northgate station and thought we'd just wander around and have lunch. This is right next to the exit of the light rail. Very convenient spot! The food was really good. We had the lamb and beef gyro and the chicken shwarma wrap with fries. The fries were really hot and the gyro and wrap were very good. Lots of meat and lots of quality veggies. They give you generous portions of everything. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. The people working there were friendly and efficient. It took less than 10 minutes to get our food. I would love to come back and try other options on their menu. read more

They are very generous with their portions! We ordered 2 plates: one with gyro lamb/beef meat and the other chicken gyro. I had the chicken gyro meat and was confused as to why there was another menu item called chicken pieces for a $1 more. It became clear to me why that was the case, the chicken gyro meat is combined with something else, think spam, and it didn't really look or have the texture of chicken (which I was a bit surprised since, of all the places I've had gyro meat, chicken was never an option to be mixed with something else). I'd come back to try their real chicken meat pieces platter but not their chicken gyro meat (don't know what's in it). read more

Went to this restaurant after a night out with friends, it was quite crowded in the restaurant but we were still able to find seating! I ordered the albacha gyro lamb and beef it was quite tasty :) it really hit the spot after a night out and service was rather quick for the most part. My friend ordered a different gyro and just thought it was ok, but I recommend the one I ordered! I like how it's open late it's perfect after a fun night and your craving the munchies. read more

Got the Falafel wrap and the Al Bacha Gyro Wrap. Both were very fresh, packed full, delicious and just hot the spot. No frills, nothing fancy, just really good and solid food at an affordable price. The sandwich/wrap looks smaller than some other places but it's very filling. Pro tip: Ask for spicy sauce in the sandwich too as they make it. read more

The portions here are great!! I got the beef/lamb gyro plate and it turned out to be 3 meals for me. The meat was tender, well seasoned and came with a generous amount of tzaiki sauce on top. The salad on the side was refreshing and helped balanced all the spices of the meat. The hummus was really creamy and went perfect with the warm pita bread.  I also got to try the Greek fries and they were a little soggy (cause we got them to go) but it was very yummy nonetheless. This place is across from Cal Anderson and right next to the light rail, making it very convenient to get a quick byte. The menu is really straightforward; it's mostly gyros and wraps. I've tried a bunch and they all taste great. They're also open until super late, unlike other restaurants in the area. The prices are also on the cheaper side, and for the portion size, it's a good deal. I recommend checking it out! read more

Super bomb. The meat (chicken and lamb) was tender and flavorful. The pita was fluffy and light. The fries were fresh and crispy and a good pairing. I could have eaten spoonfuls of the tzatziki by itself, it was so good. I do wish there were more tomatoes and cucumbers, and less lettuce in the gyro to balance it out more. I felt the price for the combo was super reasonable as well. The food safety rating isn't super high though. :/ read more

Walking by Al Bacha doesn't look like much, but this place always has people walking in and out with their orders. They do have decent dine-in seating but people usually just go here for to go orders. I usually order the Arabic chicken shawarma wrap or bowl. The chicken is cooked and seasoned perfectly! I absolutely love the vegetables and other fillings in the wrap. It also comes with a garlic dipping sauce which elevates the wrap so much. The bowl has most of the same ingredients as the wrap but has rice on the side. The bowl is pretty big for me so I usually portion it out for 2 days or share it. I've also gotten their garlic fries and those are to die for! The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the garlic sauce and feta cheese on top is one of my favorite combos! I've gotten both sizes but the smaller size is still way too large for me so i usually share that as well! The pricing for the quality and quantity of food is amazing! The employees are super friendly and funny! And the ambiance of the restaurant feels very rustic and in style with most Mediterranean restaurants I've been too. If you're in the Capitol Hill area, looking for a quick bite, craving some Mediterranean food, or garlic fries would definitely recommend!! read more

My boyfriend (designated driver!!!! no worries!!!!) drove me here after a night out with friends. The only reason we ended up coming here was because Dick's had just closed. And honestly, I'm glad it was closed. My boyfriend got me the chicken shawarma wrap, and I truly believe it's one of the best meals I've had in a long time. It was so flavorful and filling -- it was exactly what I needed after a night out. My boyfriend got a gyro, and he said it was super good. There was quite a bit of a wait -- I think because so many people flooded over because Dick's closed -- but the food made up for it. I DEVOURED my wrap, and I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I daydream about it. I need one asap. 10/10 highly recommend trying Al Bacha. read more

This place is good. I was walking around Seattle and needed something to eat late at night and this place was open so I gave it a try. I was very happy that I walked in the place despite the area dealing with weird looking people everywhere. If I am ever around that area again, I wouldn't mind eating there again. Don't expect a fancy place where you sit and a waiter comes to take your order. I was hesitant to try Al Bacha being as I had mixed reviews from friends, but it was very delicious, and I highly recommend them! I have had both the Beef and Lamb Gyro and the Chicken Gyro and both have been incredible. The staff that works here is always incredibly nice to me when I go in and very customer centric. I always get the Gyro combo, which comes with a can soda of your choice and fries. So worth it! It has a good price tag as well, especially for a quick dinner or lunch. It is conveniently located as well right on the main street of Capitol Hill. The Gyro is cooked to perfection and is fresh and juicy. The vegetables are fresh as well, and they will customize the Gyro to your liking as well. The sauce they use is incredible as well. I highly recommend Al Bacha if you are looking for a good Gyro in Seattle. They also have a variety of other foods and sandwiches as well. read more

There is a new Greek restaurant on Capitol Hill next to the Annapurna Cafe and it is a great new addition. It is a casual dining place where you order your food and then call out your number. They serve not Greek food, but also burritos. The decor is nice and new. I ordered the class Gyro Lamb and Beef. It is not your typical gyro. The lamb and beef are more in chunks than sliced, but come in a wonderful marinade that really brings out the flavor. The vegetables were really good quality, particularly the tomatoes. It did not have much tsatziki sauce--but did not really need it. Service was not super quick, but will probably improve over time. You can place orders over the phone and supposed to be able to do so online, but their advertised web page is not set up yet. I will definitely be eating their again and look forward to trying some additional items. read more

Overall the meal left me full but the food did not feel too heavy. My meal was ready in less than 15 minutes, with 2 people ahead of my order. This might be a 4-5 star place for the drunken crowd, however, it's a solid 3 for the sober crowd. The service was sloooooooooooowww. We were the only ones in the restaurant at lunchtime and it took our meals quite some time to arrive at our table. I had a chicken kabob plate and my partner had a gyro. My chicken was shriveled, dry, and bland. The yellow rice was a bit al dente and bland. The hummus was bland. The salad tasted weird...? The sliced veggies (cucumbers, tomatoes, etc.) tasted like they were tainted with the spoiled-food flavor of the air in the cooler they came from. My stomach cramped up while I was eating and I had to run to the restroom. My partner enjoyed his gyro only slightly more than I enjoyed my food. We're from out of town and this was sadly the last meal of our journey. This is the only place from our weekend adventure I would not return to. :( read more

I ordered takeout during COVID-19. I got the Lamb & Beef Gyro plate ($12.50) and Hummus ($6). Hummus was good but not amazing or surprising. It also comes with 2 pieces of pita bread that are fluffy and tasty. Pairs perfectly with the hummus. The plate was solid. Salad is normal and the hummus portion was good. Meat was really savory and the white sauce on top of it was refreshing. Meat was not dry or tough at all. My main dislike would be the rice. It almost tastes sort of sweet and not savory enough? Not entirely sure how to describe the taste, but it wasn't to my liking. Portions were good for the price. Solid place to go. I got a couple plates that included falafel, hummus, baba ganoush and pickled beets, all the classics of Arab/Mediterranean cooking. They are also some of my favorite foods on the planet. Except I didn't like any of these. The falafel were dry and crumbly. The hummus and baba ganoush were boring. I couldn't taste any tahini, lemon, garlic, or olive oil in the hummus. Other than chickpeas that's all that's in hummus. What are they making it out of? The baba ganoush barely tasted like eggplant. In fact, it tasted and looked a lot like the hummus. The pickled beets were a relative bright spot, in both color and flavor. They also had pickled cauliflower, which was new to me. I liked it, but not nearly enough to go back and subject myself to that hummus or baba ganoush. read more
