I gotta give it a 4 star. The sushi could be a bit more better but it was good Enough to satisfy my stomachs. The 3 roll lunch wasn't too bad of a price at all considering where they have their store located in. So overall I'm satisfy and the price was decent. read more

Very good sushi for a reasonable price. The salmon avocado was by far the best roll i had. The atmosphere is nice especially when they open the front door and back patio! read more

They closed early tonight, and the waitress was very curt when she informed us. Won't be back to try again. Change your posted hours and train your staff to be polite. read more

Okay so this place use to rock. Amazing all through, the rolls are fresh the apps are yummy it's a cute place, backyard in the summer. Unfortunately though, for the last few months it's declined so much. I've had funny tasting fish, messed up deliveries, messy rolls which is honestly super frustrating for me. Part of my sushi experience is the visual aspect. That's the tradition. Also their ginger is not that good. If it weren't my local sushi go to I would have stopped giving it chances. Hoping I will have a satisfying experience, but it keeps missing. read more

Came for lunch great food for a great price. Katsu chicken is a great choice for kids. It cost about $60 for only 4 people at lunch. Salad and miso soup were decent and served quickly. Rolls were decent and the sashimi was excellent. What makes this place great is the price. The best deal you will find in Brooklyn. read more

Food was not bad. We ordered rolls and were happy with them. Fresh ginger was very dry. The ginger we usually get it is fresh and moist, the one they served was super dry. The waitress could be nicer. She never came to ask if we are doing ok. We had to look for her and ask for things. We were done and wanted to pay, she asked us to wait 5 minutes because the system is down and she can't swipe the card. We waited probably 20 min. She never came to tell us what is going on. Never offered free shot of sake or anything else. I am sorry but you should treat customers better. read more

I went here with my father. They have nice outside seating and quick service. Very quite and non crowded. I had sushi and sumi Both weren't that good. I've been eating lots of sushi in NYC. This place is not all that. read more

I love this place because they have a great quality for the price. I haven't been able to find another place in the area, or even in times square (where I work) who has the same grade food for the great prices. Lunch special is a steal! 3 rolls/$11 or 2 rolls/$9 Also, the service is wonderful here. The wait staff is always friendly and very prompt. One time when I dropped my chopstick on the floor, they were already giving me a new one before I even had time to pick it up. The outside patio is very nice when the weather is enjoyable. One of the best things is that it is BYOB and there is a wine store adjacent to them & a deli right across the street for beer. My boyfriend and I usually get the sushi for two because it is an insane amount of food, (with colorful lighted decorations) for $40. We've also tried the sushi & sashimi for two for $50 but it's way too much food. They also give you soup & salad when you order the sushi for two. We always leave stuffed & happy. read more

Despite its ridiculously convenient location on Bedford avenue, it happens to have the best sushi in Williamsburg!

The owner and his wife made us feel so at home. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long. The service was wonderful, they hung back, wasn't always watching over us and gave us our space and time to enjoy the evening and our meal. To the two idiots who were there Saturday, June 20th, 2015 in the evening looking for a kickback by complaining that the service was not good, everyone in the joint saw you for who you were. It was pleasantly full but not crazy crowded like it usually is on Fridays. I can't wait to go back. read more

I love their sushi and their Nabayaki udon. Fresh and great value! Attentive servers and quick delivery.

Great service and vegetarian options. Not a long wait to get in. Great wine selection but can bring your own for a 10$ fee. Not too crowded, right next to all the fun bars on Bedford ave. Perfect weeken spot for dinner. Right next to Bedford L train read more

Great food, incredibly fast service, and a sort of understated, elegant yet rustic ambience you can only find (and truly enjoy) in Brooklyn. The Golden Dragon roll is delicious, as well as the rock shrimp tempura. We also had the green tea tiramisu as dessert -- WOW. 5 stars. Thank you, Ako! read more

A solid sushi place when you just want good food without all the hipster shenanigans the neighborhood now is known for. I sometimes stop by on the way home from work and wait for it to go. Drink a glass of sake at the bar and by the time you are done, the food will be ready. read more

BLAAHH....Ordered Tuna blue fin toro sashimi came at room temp and spit it out.Left being to scared after a failed assassination attempt. Do I really have to tell a Japanese restaurant that raw fish must be served below 38 degrees ? I dont wanna get sick so I will never go back to a place thats trying to hurt me. Where are you department of health ? Save us from being poisoned please. Dine at your own risk and dont eat room temperature raw fish....Duh read more

This place blows, everything about their sushi is off. Bad temperature, cheap cuts of fish, bad rice, poorly rolled and on top of it expensive. Friendly staff though. Im do yourself a favor and pass. read more

I think the world should know that this afternoon, while Ako staff was unloading food from the truck, a box of mushrooms spilled into the murky, grey snow melted, muddy corner between the sidewalk and the pavement of Bedford avenue. The man just collected the mushrooms, put them back in the box, and brought it into the restaurant. It was beyond gross. Although I don't eat here very often, I certainly never will again. read more

We eat here here about once per week for lunch (3 roll special with salad and soup). Quality of their rolls is always consistent and clean. The staff recognize us and we've only had great service. read more

I got food poisoning, I even gave them a 10 dollars tip :( ...... I ordered something from the card called sukiyaki (not sushi), it ruined my vacation....... Don't go there, there are a lot of restaurants which are better and where you don`t risk to get food poisoning. If you check out some other reviews, you will see I am not the only one who got sick, be careful if you go there. read more

I frequent this place a lot when I want good affordable sushi... Like the atmosphere and service is good. I found it via Yelp and the reviews didn't disappoint me! In the last 8 months my boyfriend and I have gone to AKO at least once or twice a month to eat in or for takeout. Will continue to recommend this place and visit! read more

Best quality for fresh sushi and sashimi on Bedford Avenue. I live on N5 and Bedford Ave and have tried all of the options. Ako consistently has fresh sushi and sashimi. (My favorite is the salmon sushi and the spicy salmon sushi.) Last night the owner showed me all about the high-tech refrigeration system for the sushi counter as well as the deep freezer downstairs. Very impressive. Staff is friendly. Also, pro tip: the green tea + brown rice tea is free with any order, just ask. read more

Incredible sushi and saki at good prices! Highly recommended. The service was excellent. Great ambience. For seafood lovers please try the lobster rock n roll. The zen zen is a great vegetarian roll. Spring rolls were served hot and fresh. read more

Love Ako! I order from them a couple times a week. The fish is always great quality, the wait times for delivery are very short and they have a wider selection of fish than a lot of other local sushi restaurants (love the toro scallion roll and they've offered fresh uni in the shell). Would definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

Their sushi is great and very well priced. The back patio area is beautiful and perfect for a date or dinner catching up with a friend.

The service started well but was inattentive/nonexistent after the food came. The employees were very nice which is an extra star for this review. Unfortunately the fish was not very good quality for the sushi. The rolls masked this fact with the added ingredients. But the straight up sushi was very fishy smelling and tasting and was unremarkable. I think the gyoza were the best thing we had. read more

I have ate here a handful of times, food is good but there are better options in the area (Mizu/ Fushimi). Cute back yard like many of the restaurants on Bedford. read more

I've certainly had better sushi for a fraction of the cost. There are tons of sushi places in williamsburg that have the same quality but half the price. So why not go elsewhere? If byob is extremely important to the meal, then go for it. But otherwise, this place is like any other sushi place around the area. The food took forever to come and although it came in a tower of nicely carved ice, I could have done without if it meant the food would came out faster (it was a sashimi platter). I also had the oyster special..again, nothing out of the ordinary. I don't remember the price but I think it was $20 for 6 pieces? Not sure what kind of "special" it was but it felt like full price to me. I wouldn't come back here again unless majority rules. read more

The sushi here is not fresh. Very fishy and unappetizing. The rolls are ok because they mask the flavor of the old fish. Disappointing.

Delicious food. And good atmosphere. Decent portions as well. And they have outdoor seating.

Place changed ownership recently and I am a fan. Sushi/rolls selection has expanded and they have definitely stepped up the quality. A $12 special roll seems like a bit much, but they do put the work into it to make it worth it. Not sure if they got their liquor license yet though. Also, don't miss the small patio/garden out back. read more

I ordered delivery two times. The crunchy spicy tuna is delicious and their miso soup as well. The service is good and the food is consistent, not the top quality but for the price it is ok. read more
