I had a previous HVAC maintenance company with a technician that told me that he couldn't change one of my filters and didn't help me configure my DAIKIN thermostat. Called Airnizer to come help - and they delivered. First off they were extremely responsive - came the next day. The technician was very professional, showed me what was happening with my filters, spotted that the filters wasn't snug enough, helped me configure the thermostat, changed the filters that the other guys failed at. These guys came to our place to look at our air conditioning unit. The guy who showed up did not speak english. At the end of the visit I asked if I needed to sign something. He said no, talk to Eugene (the owner). Within 30 minutes of the technician leaving, I get an angry call from the owner saying we haven't paid yet and accusing us of "taking advantage." It was LITERALLY 30 minutes after his technician had left. Also no invoice provided whatsoever. Just a string of emails. Our A/C stopped working in the middle of a sweltering hot and humid heat wave. As one does, we turned it off hoping it would somehow kick itself into gear after a brief rest... to no luck. And so the search for an "emergency" HVAC repair began in haste. Such a first world problem, I know... Our condo neighbors provided some recs in the Hoboken area, but due to high demand, we were told to wait 2-3 weeks. We expanded our search, sent out a quote request thru Yelp and stumbled upon Eugene and Airnizer. Godsend. Eugene was very quick to respond, telling us he could come by the next day to get to the bottom of the issue. He was communicative and professional during the whole process, from scheduling the appointment, walking thru issues/costs on the day-of, etc. He promptly arrived at the time he said he would, masked up and ready to roll. Once we identified that the fan and capacitor needed replacement, he called around to find the necessary parts and fixed it right then and there. The crew at Airnizer came out promptly on Monday assuming the problem with was a simple refrigerant refill and found more than they bargained for, a shoddy installation job with crossed wiring. Within a few hours they diagnosed the installation issues and fixed the wiring without missing a beat. Throughout the investigative process they outlined their theories, plans, rates, and were openly communicating with my wife and I the entire time. ***Beware Of This Shady Company*** It is my opinion that this company tried to take advantage of someone that didn't know anything about HVACs. Same way a sleazy auto mechanic would. Had a HVAC unit that had a slow drip out the bottom. They charged me $250 to come look at it. After fumbling around a bit they told me a piece was broken and the only way the fix it was to make a hole in my drywall of my bedroom and replace the pump. Total of $2150! That did not include repairing / painting the drywall which they said they would not do. It sounded crazy to me that this one little piece dripping water would be this big of an issue so I told them no. I ended up getting a 2nd opinion from another company in NYC. Anyway, the other company fixed it in about 35-45 minutes. Charged me $150 total! It's been a few days and the AC is working like new. I reached out to ask if they would give me the $250 back. They asked for a receipt from the other company, which I gave them. Still would not give me a refund. Then asked me all these questions about what the other company did.. Again, I'm not an HVAC repair expert. Said they must of done some cheap fix.. blah blah blah. All I know it that it's working great now. When texting with the office to explain the experience I had a with them. They responded by threatening me about lawyering up if I posted a negative review. Just use another company.
