My AC stopped cooling late yesterday evening, this morning I called Airco at 8am and set an appointment I was told to expect a call an hour before the service person arrived and that would happen between 1pm and 7pm today. I had great service through Airco. My AC went out on one of the hottest days in August, so I messaged them through Yelp before opening hours. Got an auto-response saying they would get back with me quickly, and Wes ended up reaching out within 10 minutes of opening. Then Jeremy called to say he was about 30 minutes out, and arrived promptly. I explained the issue, and he took a look and found the problem quickly. He walked me through it, explaining my options. He ended up giving me a quote that was lower than I'd expected based on what needed to be fixed and even got me a discount. He got it replaced within about 15 minutes and now the AC is working again! I got a project up for a AC problem that needs professional. Airco has the lowest service fee and came to do estimate the next day, very efficient for sure, but then I was told there's a loose wire issue seems like a big project that needs 5 hrs to fix and quoted me over $900. They came the next day since I agreed the service, I need it fixed so I didn't go with other place. They came replaced the wire around 1.5 hrs and completed. Very fast. After the service I called other places asking to quote the wire issue as they described. Feel like I'm way over charged. DON'T recommend based on their prices but recommend for their fast and responsive and get it done really quick I learned the hard way next time will get some more quotes even having to throw away more service fees. read more

I called Airco late at night as my AC had stopped working. Airco was the ONLY company to offer emergency service the same day. Shortly after calling, the HVAC technician Tony called me directly, and it was apparent he was super knowledgeable on ACs and in particular my relatively complicated Daikin Fit Inverter system. Tony gave me great real-time suggestions, all of which were great tips but didn't solve the problem. Work on this type of equipment required Tony to get management approval, and he assured me he'd call me back first thing in the morning. I generally don't have good luck with people following up, but he called and texted me back multiple times and said he'd come by. Fortunately, by then another contractor was able to come out, but I ran what they found by Tony and he said it was a good plan and should work, and fortunately my AC works. I leave 5-stars because Airco is the ONLY company that got a tech to talk to me at 9pm, and Tony himself was so kind and genuinely empathetic. He followed up consistently and went out of his way to give me advice. You don't see that often in companies or individuals. As a result, Airco will be one of my first calls, and I really hope I get Tony every time! read more

Friday afternoon in a Texas summer and the AC goes out. Not good, not good at all. To the rescue was John Paul from Airco. He came out within a few hours, immediately diagnosed the problem and had a fix. He also looked at the entire system and showed me on the multimeter the reading compared to the listed max on the unit. It was way high...I didn't want my system to blow out in the near future, so I agreed to the additional fix. Both were completed quickly, and he was happy to show me around so I knew what he was doing and why. Did I mention he was a joy to be around? When the heat is on, a friendly attitude from your savior is a great thing. The fix was done, the power connected, and the vents blew cold! Yay! (And extra points from the wife & family.) Wow! We called late morning and by late afternoon Jon, our service tech was calling to tell us he was on his way. The office worked to get us squeezed in on a Friday afternoon BEFORE a holiday weekend and we could have been in real trouble. Thank you office team! The tech was great. We asked about wearing a mask if he needed to come in and he was totally gracious and understanding. But, he didn't even need to come in, lol! Jon was able to diagnose everything from outside, it was the capacitor. He replaced it, but he also gave me some instruction about cleaning the fins (which didn't look blocked by a layer of stuff, but he explained that when they get coated with dust, which they very much are, it hampers the cooling). I asked for an estimate to replace it and the price was very competitive. There was no weird pressure to close on a sale there on the spot (like some places do). And the cost of the repair today can get credited to the cost of the new unit for two weeks. Finally, awesome communication. Jon called us, not the office, and that makes things easier. Our condo is super hard to find, and I was able to get him in through the shortcut because he was on the phone, not a dispatcher. Good work AirCo : ) read more

Our HVAC was 16 years old and one of the units was not cooling at all. Not good in the Texas summer. I immediately called the Nextdoor recommended HVAC service company. They required me to purchase the annual maintenance program or pay for the visit first. I opted for the annual plan. After over 2 hours inspecting and cleaning and testing the 2 units it was determined that one unit had a leaking coil and repairing it was a waste of money. I asked for a quote and a representative visited our house and quoted a Lennox system for what I thought was a very fair price. My wife insisted I get competitive quotes from at least 2 other HVAC companies prior to purchase. I requested quotes from Yelp suppliers; 4 in all. 3 suppliers responded quickly. I had them each visit and quote. The vendor I chose was AIRCO because their initial quote was for a Lennox system (the same exact units as the first quote) for 30% less and it included a whole house air filtration unit and programmable thermostat for both. They were extra cost from everyone else. Plus AIRCO would fill out all the rebate forms for the units and thermostats at no additional charge! All quotes were made without me revealing the other quotes or systems. They arrived on time. Installed both systems with minimal intrusion on the family (we did leave since the air would be off). The outside installation was very clean, neat, and looks better than before. They programmed both thermostats, connected them to the web, and taught us how to use and program them from the phone app. As a follow up, they called to check a couple of days later on the systems and the install. I praised them. The overhead lights in one room directly beneath one unit were not working. So, I asked if it was possible that wiring was damaged during install. The lady on the phone immediately scheduled a follow up to diagnose the problem even though I was not sure it was theirs. The technician followed up the next day. He found nothing wrong with the system or the install, but he wanted their electrician to follow up. As he was turning out the attic light he noticed a loose wire nut which wasn't theirs. He reattached the wires and wire nut. Voila!! The lights worked. He said it was an old connection and it had simply loosened. It was nowhere near the installation area. All of this was free!! Price, service, installation, features were all excellent and above expectations. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

I previously submitted a warranty repair and the company sent someone over from A-US Air Conditioning (https://www.ausairtexas.com/). They told me the issue was due to a bad thermostat wire and that I'd have to pay out of pocket for the repair. I now understand why A-US has such terrible reviews! I wanted a second opinion and ran across Airco Heating & Air Conditioning. I chatted with Wes, the manager via Yelp messaging and within 2 hours, Martin arrived at my door. He was friendly and listened to my issues before heading straight to the attic to start his diagnostics. He quickly determined that the thermostat wire was working fine and was able to manually trigger the AC - it was blowing cold air again! Martin walked me through all the steps he took to come to his final conclusion. Turns out the issue was my Ecobee thermostat not sending the right signal! The charged less than my warranty company's initial service fee. I'll report back once I replace the thermostat to confirm whether Martin's hypothesis was correct. read more

My twenty-three year old HVAC SYSTEM had to be replaced. The old unit was replaced with a matched Communicating 16-SEER, two-stage, Condenser, ECM, and Gas Furnace with a communicating WiFi capable Thermostat. Replacing this equipment is a major and costly project. It's a process and consumers MUST determine their needs, research the different brands for economy, reliability, and warranty. Once you are in a position to express your needs to companies, you can review their estimates from a perspective of "apples-to-apples"... this was my approach. I contacted companies based on Yelp Reviews as well as a few big box stores. My estimates looked a little like a scatter chart final prices were all over the proverbial graph. From this I extracted the most reasonable, thorough, and efficient options. My estimate from AIRCO stood out as the very best. The installation was completed today and I am proud of the honesty, follow-through, and service rendered toward my project. Thanks to Stuart (sales) and Mr. Leal (installations) for making this mammoth project easy. Mr. Leal and his team made sure I understood how to use the thermostat to operate the new components efficiently. I, without hesitation recommend this company to anyone contemplating a project like this. AIRCO also offers the longest installation labor warranty in the area.
