We recently had an emergency leak in our kitchen. Even though it was Saturday, Juan was able to make it over in about an hour. He arrived and quickly helped us diagnose and stop the leak. He took the time to guide us on what brand of kitchen faucet to buy since we'd need a replacement. Juan also gave us a break on the after-hours fee and even called us Saturday evening after I got the replacement faucet to walk me through turning the water to the house back on. Juan responded to my request for a quote within 5 minutes on Yelp. He gave me the pricing for diagnostic work and for labor right up front. We scheduled him to come out the following day. He and his assistant Victor showed up on time, and they were very friendly and immediately got to work. What made this the best experience I've had with a plumbing company happened next: he took the time to show me what the problem with my disposal was (it had jammed and needed to be cleaned out and reset). With an Allen wrench, he fixed it in 5 minutes but walked me through it all as it happened. I feel like the next time this happens, I'll be able to troubleshoot before calling a company. Reviews online and on thumbtack really hyped this business up and now I think I understand why's Eric L Lopez from Juan & Only Plumber went above and beyond helping us install a new water heater. Shoddy building of the house lead to nails in the water line which caused a leak during the install. Eric helped to patch that up free of charge while working all day to get the new unit installed. The old unit had so much sediment it took a lot of time and effort for him to drain it. Thanks for hanging in there and taking care of us! I normally do not write negative reviews as I know that people, companies can have a bad day. My experience is one that I feel needs to be shared as it showed very untrustworthy practices. I selected Juan & Only Plumber to look at our hot water heated based on reviews and posts on Reddit. While searching, I found that people experience "zip code" pricing by some companies. I have never experienced this and did not believe it until working with Juan & Only Plumber in Austin. The tech was supposed to arrive between 1-4pm. I called at 4:30 to see if we needed to reschedule. I was told I would get an update ASAP. Finally at 6:20p, I got a text saying a different tech would arrive in 15min. My husband met w/ the technicians, they decided it best to replace the hot water heater. We were given a verbal quote of $3250 for replacement of the propane heater. I received a quote later that evening for $2650 that stated in 3 areas replacement of a propane heater, propane lines & propane set up. I accepted the quote. In the morning, the tech texted, said he quoted incorrectly as it was not for a propane heater and would send one for the $3250 he told us. I then got the same exact quote from the night before with the only change being the price which was now $3750. I pointed this out via text to the tech. Someone from the company then texted & emailed saying that I should accept or deny. No explanation of why my price jumped overnight by $1100. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. read more

The whole experience from start to finish was smooth and professional. I got a very reasonable quote, and then I was able to set up an appointment for the work that needed to be done very promptly. Xavier arrived on time, was courteous, professional, and did an excellent job. We were missing some fittings, but Xavier threw it in without any charges. Once the work was done, he tested everything. We observed a leak (which later turned out NOT to be a leak) and called GC Services. They sent out a plumber ASAP, and it was just a loose housing. They did not charge for the follow-up visit. Juan was the 3rd plumber who came to check out our washing machine drain pipe that was backing up and flooding the laundry room. Previous plumbers said to expect to dig under the slab because the old cast iron pipe (1960s) was probably collapsed. Juan suggested trying to snake the pipe again (which had already been done twice without success). He was patient and took his time and had the drain open in less than 20 minutes! He could easily have suggested a bigger job but he knows what he's doing. Of course we may eventually need to have a huge repair but it was not needed now.
