We should have gotten the ducts cleaned before installing an in-duct booster fan, but we didn't think of it, so we needed the cleaners to be extra careful with their rotating brushes in that area. They came out 3-2-26. We asked for photos of the fan. Did not receive them. We asked them not to use the fungicide but they did. Both requests were clearly typed right onto the Case Report. (Once we found out the type, we learned it wasn't as dangerous for sensitive people as we had thought.) The dryer vent was supposed to have a pre- and post-cleaning flow test per the Sales Order, but the results weren't reported. This cost a grand. I wasn't going to write a review at all until I saw what was on our filter only 9 weeks later. Today 5-9-26, we went to change the filter and found piles of crap on it... my husband threw it out before I could get a picture ... but this is some of it. I actually have an old ad that shows the prices charged for this kind of service 10 years ago... I used to get the ducts cleaned yearly back then. Now it is 20x more and far less dependable, obviously. Oh, and they tried to upsell us an Air Scrubber, too.

We were very reluctant to put a "ductless" system into our 93 year old house, desperate to maintain the look and charm - but Tyler walked us through several options that would help preserve the charm, and still keep us both warm in winter and cool in summer. He explained all of the benefits, and answered every (even silly) questions we had and made us realize it was time to "modernize" our home. To be responsible, we also had another company come out, to see what they would suggest and what they would charge. It was a no-brainer to go with Randy's. From the first visit, we felt they were the most professional, knowledgeable and patient. Tyler even came back out just to go over the details again, to answer more of our questions. They gave us options, 3 quotes to choose from, and the price was surprisingly affordable, alleviating my worst fears. (we didn't even wait to hear back from the second opinion!) The installers were completely professional, very concerned with keeping my house clean throughout the 2-day install, very nice, very informative the entire time. They went the extra mile to answer questions, and explain processes. I now have 2 Floor Mount and 2 Wall Mount "ducted ductless" mini splits keeping our entire house cozy, while all of the connections and tubes and such went under the house. We really thought we'd hate having these in our house, but we were happily wrong. They're fantastic, unobtrusive, quiet and fit right in. Even the outdoor unit that powers them all isn't a big deal at all. Nestled up to the side of the house, it's not even noticeable. This review might seem long and rambling but what I want to convey is how Professional, Caring and Outstanding all of the people at Randy's Heating are. Unfortunately, the roofers took an entire month to finish putting the roof on, and by that time, the whole house was sopping wet. This was exactly the circumstance we were trying to avoid, as my husband suffers from mold toxin illness. We called Servpro to see what could be done, and they came up with a plan that I am happy to say worked beautifully. They fogged the entire house and crawlspace heavily to eradicate the mold, and put as many dehumidifiers and fans in as our limited electricity would allow. They even came back out to spray a section in our labyrinth of a crawlspace where the fogging couldn't reach. They had some difficult circumstances to navigate, but they always figured out a way to get the job done, and to do it well. We are beyond thankful that they were able to save our house from the mold. They helped us navigate a nightmare situation and afforded us the peace of mind that our new home won't make anyone sick.

Unfortunately concerning Pristine we were met with resistance and denial. The representative went straight to saying they shouldn't do a heat pump, due to the lack of floor insulation. This didn't make sense to us, as three other companies already reviewed the home and claimed otherwise. However the representative from Pristine seemed to not want to hear that, and after a bit of back and forth said the words "I guess we aren't the company you want to go for". They made the decision for us, which is odd considering we were only trying to purchase more than a standalone furnace. Maybe it was a miscommunication somewhere but it's clear from the rep that they didn't want our business. Edit: Further reduced score based on the reply from the company including false truths, never once did we claim that what the representative had said was "B.S." and to be clear they never said nor verified the home was insulated properly. The claimed the floors needed to be insulated, which was debunked by other companies as heat rises, and floor insulation does very little in terms of holding the homes heat. Poor response taking no real responsibility.

Pro's - Basic work seemed to be done well and at a price that was competitive with others I contacted at least for the basic service. - Communication was prompt. - After some re-scheduling on their part, the team did the work swiftly and efficiently. - Most of the terms were clear in advance, using Yelp Projects. Con's - This is a fairly shiesty corner of the home maintenance world. Many providers seem to give you a low-ball estimate to get in the door and then upsell significantly. - Envirosmart is not an exception. - The initial quote was $200. This included scoping the ducts and doing the negative pressure clean-out. - Onsite, they then upsold me to $670 for a more thorough brushing of the vents, sanitation, and some other ancillary services. - They were only modestly well-organized. They called the day-of to reschedule because of a conflict with internal training. They also confirmed a different time than I had originally scheduled. It was the difference of a 9 to 11am original window and a 2:30-3pm arrival. - The Yelp Project communication could have been clearer. They did not specify whether they were calling to quote me or coming to do the service! Amid all this and with some clarification and flexibility on our part, we worked it out. I would have appreciated either a discount or additional service for the delay. None was proffered. I did not go ahead with the upsell as I had already gotten quotes for less from other providers with somewhat more transparent pricing. I think the work they did appeared fine. See attached pics. Your guess is as good as mine which are before and which are after! They did not specify when they sent them to me and email took off the timestamp. I'm hoping the cleaner ones. I probably will try another service when I do this again and with a higher rated provider. All in all, though, I had low expectations and those low expectations were met.
