We were referred to Aircare USA to have our air ducts cleaned. My husband called and asked for a quote. He was sold on an "air scrubber". I asked him what that meant, he said it was like an air purifier. He was told we would be only paying for the air duct clean and the product itself. He was originally quoted $800 for the cleaning and the air scrubber for a $1600 package deal. We have an Aerus Air Scrubber cut in and installed into our HVAC system. As I walked in the door that night from work, I said, "why does it smell like an ozonator in here?" He asked me what that was. I explained that it was something that sucks the oxygen out of room to remove strong orders quickly. Companies that do Bio-hazard clean-up and restoration commonly use these machines. I am very familiar with this smell, as I have been in property management for 15 years. In fact, I own a small one for vacant homes. Ozone machines can make people very ill. My husband immediately notified Jim, the owner, that my son and I were smelling this odor and were getting headaches and our eyes were watering. It's important to note: we experienced NONE of these symptoms before AirCare USA. Jim claimed that they do not use ozone as they tried that once and he knows its bad. He had no idea what we could be smelling. Maybe it was the "sanitizer" they spray in the machine. He asked us to give it a little while longer. A week passed and still the smell was there and we were even more sick. I got on a step stool and unplugged the machine. When we called to ask them to remove it "100% Customer Guarantee" they pushed us out weeks. The day before the appointment I called Jim and asked how we would be reimbursed. He told me it would be up to Alex and he wasn't sure how much but he would cut us a check. Late that evening I received a text telling me we were not receiving anything back. During the appointment, Alex told my husband we would only see a refund had they been able to get their money back from the company. My husband asked why we should be on the hook for $1600 for something that was making us sick, Alex asked why HE should be on the hook for it. They buy these units in bulk and can't return them. He also said there was nothing in the unit and he has no idea what we would smell. As Alex was leaving my husband had to ask for our piece of equipment back that makes us sick, that they were going to take and not refund us any money. We have a patch in our HVAC system, you cannot find this model number of air scrubber on the internet anywhere and we are still out money. This was our experience with AirCare USA. read more

Great business! Honest, thorough, on time & professional. Brandon and Tony cleaned our ducts and air returns and did a very meticulous job. They had a $199 special - unlimited ducts - and I was so impressed with their service. My asthma is much improved. I asked their opinion if my furnace also needed cleaning (different/additional service) they gave me an honest answer (no, didn't need cleaning). Stay away from these bait and switchers, who do a horrible job. We called Air Care USA and Jim, the owner, said they'do a COMPLETE air duct SYSTEM cleaning with unlimited vents, for $149, as advertised in Angie's List - http://my.angieslist.com/thebigdeal/malloffer.aspx?itemid=288808&source=22. When they got here they said that the "SYSTEM" cleaning only included vents/returns (other companies include furnace cleaning as part of the SYSTEM cleaning). Jim said he'd include the furnace cleaning for another $120, and tried pushing other unnecessary services adding to over $400. At that point it was a clear case of bait and switch and I should have asked them to leave. Instead, I asked to only do the vents. The nightmare continues: we have an old house, and the vents don't close. In the past, when companies have cleaned the ducts, they cover the vents to prevent the dust from the ducts to come into the house. Jim didn't cover several of the vents, and for those that they covered, they used ill-fitting, dirty foam, that left many gaps. When I mentioned something, he said he didn't cover them to prevent the whole vent system from collapsing! In the meantime, they happily used some sort of air pump to lift the dust from the ducts. Now the whole house smells like dirt and dust, similar to the smell when remodel/construction is being done in a house. In addition, I checked some of the vents and ducts right by the vents, finding a lot of dust and cobwebs. Some of the vent covers are also covered by dust. Without authorization, he cut a hole in the return line by the furnace, claiming there was not other way to access it. As you can see from the picture, it is easily accessible by removing the filter, which is over 4 inches in height. Oh, and after they left, I found one of the big pieces (over 15 x 4 inches) of filthy foam they use to "seal" the vents left INSIDE one of the ducts - a true reflection of the quality of their job. read more

I met Jim the owner of Air Care USA at the Seattle Home show and I was very impressed with his knowledge and his rates were very reasonable - and I booked an appointment on the spot. Air Care is a family run business, and Jim's son, Alex (along with another gentleman) did the work - and they rocked. I was incredibly impressed with Alex's knowledge of furnace and duct systems and they did an amazing job. They cleaned the furnace, addressed a previous filter problem and put in the right filter, cleaned all the ducts and sanitized them as well. They were super pleasant, very respectful of my home. I had my ducts "cleaned" 3 years ago. At that time it took about 45 min. Hmmmm. Met Jim, the owner of AirCare about 4 months ago at a home show. He seemed very knowledgeable, so I hired him to clean my ducts. His employees, Tony and Brandon were great! They were very professional, shared tips on air duct care and maintenance. They showed me "years of dust" as they cleaned my ducts using a vac from a large van (had not seen that with prior "duct cleaning"). Told me how to test for torn or broken duct lines. I first tried several other companies in 2013 to do the vent and furnace cleaning job, only to be told I needed a new furnace because their equipment would not work here, that this was an impossible situation. We needed a full air duct, furnace and dryer vent cleaning on a 1948 house we just purchased. The previous owner had cats, we had just refinished the hardwood floors and there was a LOT of wood dust. Alex and Tony came to my place today for duct cleaning, and did a great job. I used this company a few years ago and also last year. And the quality of the personnel remains superior. They cleaned all as they advertised, but then went further-- pointing out what was in good shape, pointing out why things do what they do, and said I did NOT need to clean every 2 years, rather every 4 years. They showed me the purpose of extra levers, and offered a product that attached to the furnace, acting as an air filter- which I accepted. And the scheduling to get them was easy and professional. Best and most thorough furnace, air duct and dryer vent cleaning we have ever had! They called ahead of time with an ETA and were very prompt. Jim and his son did a thorough walk-through and inspection before any work was started and re-stated the price we had agreed upon when the job was booked. We met Alex at Air Care USA's booth at the state Fair. They were offering half-price duct cleaning, and after speaking with Alex about their procedures, we scheduled an appointment. Alex and Tony showed up right on time, and got to work assessing our system. Alex made a few recommendations regarding what he thought needed to be done, in addition to the duct cleaning, that would be beneficial to the system (cleaning the A/C coil and blower). After stating the price upfront, he left me to decide, and absolutely didn't pressure me in any way. I decided to go ahead and have the blower and coil cleaned, as well as have a lifetime filter installed. Jim and his assistant came to my house to clean my air ducts/furnance a few weeks ago and they did an amazing job. They are professional and courteous and it's obvious they enjoy what they do and take it seriously. Jim inspected everything and then let me know up front exactly how much everything would cost so there were no hidden fees or surprises. Brandon and Tony came to clean my air ducts and furnace today. HIGHLY recommend this company. They were courteous, left everything clean and were honest. I had a dryer vent cleaning scheduled with them. They told me that I could do it myself and save the money because it was such a short distance from the dryer to where the vent is - it's literally on the other side of the wall the dryer sits in front of. Not many companies I've worked with are going to tell you that. They showed me that my furnace is supposed to have 2 filters but previous Owners only had 1 in there so furnace was not collecting all the dust it should have been. I now have 2 lifetime filters installed that I only have to pull out and clean every few months.
