My dryer smelled smoky today so I turned it off and called around for dryer vent cleaning. Ventflow was able to come same day, lucky for me! It turned out to be a bigger job than expected. After initial work was done and inspected, he found my dryer vent was not up to code and that required cutting into the wall to replace things. What came out of the wall looked more like a slinky than a dryer vent. A quick job turned into a few hours and more costs but I can now feel safe about running my dryer. Ventflow was fantastic and really saved me from what could have been catastrophic damage caused by an underpowered and poorly installed bathroom fan. After a few bouts of leaking from the exhaust fan, I called Ventflow. Following a quick five-minute phone call and the exchange of a handful of images from my attic and bathroom, we had a plan of attack and an appointment scheduled. The team showed up perfectly on time, removed the offending, soaking-wet fans and ducting, and even checked the roof to clear out insulation that didn't belong there. They were punctual, communicated clearly, cleaned up thoroughly, didn't mind my dog barking at them, and explained everything they were doing. I found this small company on-line, and so glad I did! I called Karla, and we quickly set up time for them to check out my dryer vent issue (I suspected a blockage and possible disconnected vent duct). Todd and Karla stopped by on-time, after texting me to give me 10 minutes ETA. I explained the scenario, and they figured out the issue (end of the vent was disconnected, and the line was in need of a good cleaning). They did a great job with a very thorough cleaning, replaced the flex connection from the dryer, and even reattached the vent louvers with cement screws instead of the flex seal silicone. And explained everything in great detail. Prices were very reasonable, and their customer service excellent. They were I chose them because they are a small minority-owned company, and they had their business license endorsement for each city where they do business (yes- that's important- and it shows attention to detail by the business). I'm so incredibly impressed with this company! I have a house with a walk-out basement, so the sides of my home are sloped hills, and my builder ran my dryer vent up to the attic from the second floor. This means my vent was 25 feet off the ground! American Classic, my home builder, also decided to use a $5 part to cover the dryer vent, a cheap three-louvered design. After nine years, two of the louvers broke off, so I had a hole in the side of my house. Not surprisingly, a bird decided to fly in there to get out of the cold. The bird went all the way into my house - right up to the dryer - and died. So I had a vent 25 feet off the ground in desperate need of a real vent cover, and a dryer hose that had never been cleaned in nine years. I got the bird out, but I couldn't fix the other problems. I called around to at least eight different places, and none of them could/would work on a vent that high off the ground or service the Renton area. Ventflow to the rescue! They came out on Monday after I called them on Friday (so quick service), and despite the challenging scenario of getting up on a ladder to mount a new, strong vent cover, they tackled it perfectly. I really wish every business was like VentFlow! I can't get over how smooth, easy, quick, professional, and cheap they were! I found them via Yelp and saw that all the reviews were 5-star--that's not normal. Between all their great reviews and mesmerizing before and after photos I reached out via the Yelp app to see if they were available. Not only did they reply within minutes, they gave a flat rate quote and was able to come out ASAP. VentFlow arrived on time with masks and gloves (and little bootie covers for shoes when inside!) and went right to work. My dryer vent vents out our new roof --and the roofers did not put the right vent on! It was a total fire hazard. They explained what had happened with the "vent" and what they did to fix what was there. They were only hired to clean the vent, but went way above and beyond. There was no bait and switch on price and there was no up-selling at all. I asked THEM what it would cost to cut into the roof and install the proper vent and it was WAY less than I anticipated. Our roof is under warranty, but if I do end up replacing the vent--I'm going with VentFlow. That should tell you something about them and their super reasonable rates. Seriously, just go with Ventflow! We moved into a new house without a washer and dryer. We did our research, found the perfect washer/dryer, brought them both home, and then discovered we didn't have a dryer vent. We considered installing our own dryer vent and then realized we only had about a few inches of space to work with and decided we should probably bring in someone who knows what they're doing. I called Ventflow and Todd picked up right away and gave me a ballpark quote ($350 - $550). Other companies either gave me a similar quote or refused to give me an estimate. I decided to go with Todd because he was nice and upfront. A couple days before Ventflow arrived, I installed the washer and then immediately became anxious about the whole thing: maybe I shouldn't have installed the washer, maybe the washer isn't level enough, maybe it won't be possible to install the dryer vent at all, maybe we bought the wrong house, and so on. The day of the install, Todd and Karla show up right on time, check out the tight spot where they have to install the dryer vent, and then get right to work. While they were working, I very nervously worked on hooking the dryer cord to the back of the dryer. After Todd and Karla finished, Todd turned to me and said, "Did you want to hook up the dryer today?" Then they came over, helped me finish up my work on the dryer cord, installed the stacking kit and put the dryer on top of the washer, and finally made sure the dryer/washer were level. To install the dryer, they even had to take the door off the closet because it was such a tight fit. Altogether, the cost was only $360. Honestly, as a very anxious new homeowner, Todd and Karla were just what I needed: honest, friendly people who do quality work. Our dryer's dry time increased suddenly from 25 minutes to 62 minutes. Turns out that our bird trap outside our vent was clogged and causing a backup of lint. My review is late, but around the beginning of October I contacted Todd because I noticed my dryer was taking an unusually long time to dry my clothes... which is its only job.... so I figured the vents were probably due for a cleaning since 1. we'd been living in our house for about 4 years and hadn't cleaned them yet and 2. the people who lived here before us were so lazy they never even got around to painting (this is 100% true), so I doubt cleaning the dryer vent was very high on their to-do lists. I requested a quote via Yelp and Todd responded quickly (within a few hours, actually), and we set up an appointment. He came out when he said he would and did what he said he would, which if you've ever tried to get technicians out to your house you already know that puts him above like 80% of the people you'll deal with. I wish I would have kept the photo (no, actually... I don't, it's embarrassing) of all the lint that flew out when he cleaned my ducts, because it was quite a bit. Like my own personal lint snowstorm in my backyard. Todd also cleaned around the washer and dryer in the utility closet, which was nice because I never had (I said I kept house, I didn't say I kept a clean house). It's been about 2 months now and my dryer is MUCH quicker at drying clothes and (probably) no longer a fire hazard, so I'm pleased. Like a lot of the comments on here, I have a new dryer that wasn't quite doing its job like it had previously. I've only owned my house for a little over 3 years, and had not had the dryer vent cleaned out, so I figured it was about time for a good cleaning! I called Vent Flow to find out about their availability on Monday, and was pleased to find out that they had time slots for both Thursday and Friday of the same week. This was an unexpected delight, especially being so close to the New Year holiday. Todd and his team were running a little bit late from a job clear across town that had gone a little bit long. They called 45 minutes before my scheduled time to let me know that they were running late, so I could adjust my plans. The courtesy of the call was truly appreciated, so I didn't have to wait and wonder! The team that came into my home wore protective boots on their shoes so they didn't track debris into my home. I was able to direct them to the laundry room and exterior vent. Within minutes, equipment was on the move. The vent cleaning itself went considerably faster than I expected (about 30-45 minutes in total). When the team went to clean the exterior vent, it was in pretty poor shape. The builder grade plastic louvered door was in the process of coming apart in a pretty impressive fashion. Todd gave me a few options for replacing the door, and within a short time, was up on a ladder making this one repair I won't have to worry about for a long time. The laundry room was impressively cleaned out, the dryer was running great, and it was deodorized, which was a pleasant surprise. The team left me with a pocket lint roller and a solution to run through my washing machine to clean and deodorize it as well. I had a great experience with Vent Flow, and will be contacting them again in the future when I need their services. I am so impressed with the great job that was done my over clogged dryer vent. he took my dryer out took the vents off air blew them out got up on my roof and clean the vent on the roof then he vacuumed and cleaned up after himself and then he took the clothes that were taken out of my dryer so we could do the cleaning and put them back in after I put my dryer back into the closet that's going above and beyond in my opinion and I'm very impressed.
