It was going to be a single day, but our "mission glitch" was some less-than-up-to-code electrical on the old system that needed to be brought up to code. When booking, I was quoted $209.00 (possibly $219) and told there would only be an extra $50.00 charge if the vent went through the roof. My vent is incredibly short--it goes straight through the wall adjacent to the dryer for about 5 inches to the side of the house. At the end of the service, the technician, Richard, showed me a total of $209.00 on the payment screen. I tapped my credit card and signed based on that amount. However, when the invoice arrived via email, I discovered I was actually charged $305.75! The breakdown revealed multiple hidden fees that were never disclosed: * Base price hike: They changed the base price to $269.00, later claiming it was because the dryer is on the 3rd floor (which was never mentioned during booking). * Tax discrepancy: They charged a 10.66% tax rate ($28.68 on $269), which is higher than the actual Seattle tax rate of 10.55%. * Hidden surcharge: They tacked on an undisclosed $8.07 credit card surcharge. The final amount was completely hidden from the screen when I authorized the payment. This is an unethical business practice. Check your receipts closely with this company!

They only did the outside and when I asked him about going inside he said that is appliance issue. My husband ended up purchasing brushes on Amazon and cleaned the vent out from inside, which in turn made him have to clean it out from the outside again. Not to mention all the lint that it pushed through on the roof again. Very frustrating. I actually took a picture and emailed it to them with all the lint that was taken out but never got a response.

I prefer companies being proactive. Their verbal quote in person felt like bait-and-switch, as it was not anywhere near the online quote. I had turned down other options as I liked the online bid. I explained this to the techs, and they were able to "negotiate" a better price (slightly higher than my online bid) so it was not exactly what I expected. What I liked is the job was complete on the day I requested. The techs tried upselling me in person, didn't give me anything in writing, and kind of hesitated when I'd explained I wanted them to either take off their shoes or wear booties, as the floor was recently cleaned. Again, they did the job on the day I'd requested and came highly reviewed, but I still have not received a written receipt (it's been nearly a week) and I don't care for the upselling when everything on the price menu is online. As they were able to finish one home I hired them to do another, based on time. Would I hire again, I'd give them a 3/5 stars, so not necessarily. It was 100% based on scheduling on why they got my business and they sold me on the instant reply and online menu, but I wasn't impressed with the mess (had to vacuum after they came) and the upselling and their hesitation of booties. Our entire HVAC duct system was very thoroughly cleaned by him, and the furnace, heat pump and mini split were maintained and carefully cleaned as well. He also figured out a way to upgrade our older wireless thermostat to do what we wanted without requiring wiring. He showed us all of the work he was doing as he was doing it and did not charge suggest or charge for anything unnecessary. The pricing was fair and transparent, and his expertise in HVAC was clear. They were able to come out very soon after my initial request, and all communication was prompt and friendly.
