Amazing dinner! I had the sea bass with crispy skin and endive. My husband had the lobster linguine. We both enjoyed our food. I believe mine was the epitome of Italian cuisine, simple ingredients singing harmoniously. We absolutely loved the panna cotta as well, a must order. The chef is brilliant. Best meal this entire trip! It was so good, we went back TWICE! My coworker highly recommended I try this place when I was visiting Rome. He said Ai Bozzi landed in his top 5 all time food experiences. I immediately booked a reservation and the rest was history. Before we started the meal, the server brought out a bag of bread and a salmon and mayo starter. The first meal, we ordered the grilled octopus, pappardelle and 2 desserts. We let the server know that we were sharing dishes and they nicely split and plated the pasta for us. The grilled octopus was the best dish we had and the reason we came back to Ai Bozzi the following night. The octopus was so tender, it had the texture of mushrooms. CRAZY! We were blown away. The desserts are very well platted and not extremely decadent. We loved the meal! We told our server we will be back tomorrow night haha The following night, we ordered the exact meal the table behind us ate. We ordered the fried meatballs, more octopus, a polenta and pork dish, and biscotti. The fried meatballs were delicious and the green sauce on the bottom tasted like a chimichurri. The octopus was perfect again! The polenta and pork dish was not on the special that night, but they said they could make the dish for us. It was enough for the two of us to share. The pork had a clean simple flavor and was so tender. I was only expecting 1 or 2 biscotti, but I was so surprised when they brought out an entire bowl. It tasted like the blue tin cookies that my relatives replaced with their sewing kit. Definitely add this to your food bucket list! I hope I can one day try fresh porcini mushrooms at Ai Bozzi. Excellent with allergies! Came here on a Thursday night with allergies to tree nuts, peanuts and sesame. Considering that we had been turned away from other restaurants who were unable to accommodate our allergies and then also having an anaphylactic reaction at another establishment after being assured it was safe, we were weary to say the least. I walked in and spoke to the owner, showed him my allergy card written in Italian. He took pictures of it and walked back to talk to the chef. He came promptly back and said they would accommodate our allergies. We were escorted inside and served on by Hanif. Our server knew every ingredient and was very kind. We ordered steak, sea bass and spaghetti, everything was cooked to perfection. The owner came to check on us as did the server. I highly recommend this place for anyone with allergies, they even brought out our bread in bags with ingredients on it. We were in heaven and felt safe eating everything. It has an excellent vibe with air conditioned indoor seating as well as outdoor seating with fans, umbrellas and lights. The bathrooms were very clean as was the entire establishment. read more

Went to Ai Bozzi on recommendation of local chef. GREAT recommendation. To star, we arrived shortly before the end of their lunch hours (about 2:45). They could have easily turned us away or provide crappy service. Instead, they sat us quickly and provided for our every need. We ordered their Tuna Tartar to start, which was incredible. A massive pile of fresh tuna, complimented by a duo of sauces drizzled about the plate. My wife had tagliatelle with a red sauce, but the highlight of the meal was my Cacio e Pepe with Fig. I was concerned that the sweetness of the figs would fight with the cheese sauce, but that's why I'm not a chef.... I was soooo wrong! I found myself seeking bites of the delicious fresh figs to round out the creamy, peppery sauce. Oh, and that tonnarello? LEGIT. Such a great texture and mouthfeel. One of the best pasta dishes ever! It was now well past 3 (closer to 4) and the waiter still offered us desert and coffee. Unfortunately, could not eat another bite! We'll be back. read more

We loved this place! At first we were alittle concerned because the restaurant next door was more full and lively but we were more than satisfied. Every dish was delicious, but the taste wasn't the only thing that impressed. The presentation was thoughtful and the dishes were creative. They did a spin on cacio e Pepe with gnocchi instead of spaghetti. Calamari stuffed with the local specialities of artichokes and tomatoes was a visually appealing treat. Incredible Birthday dinner in the Trastevere neighborhood! We sat on their patio overlooking a really cool cobblestone street. This patio was very lively because there is a wine bar across the street and another restaurant next to it, also with a lively patio. As a result, the energy was great here. We ordered the Vino rosso della casa (Red wine of the house). It was absolutely delicious!! and very inexpensive. With our wine, our waiter brought out a dish of soft, warm focaccia bread. mmmm.... For our appetizer, we ordered the antipasto misto della casa. This dish had a variety of very unique seafood items involving salmon, squid and cheese. Each item was fresh and delicious. My primi tonight was the rissoto crema di scampi e tartufo. It was a large shallow bowl of rissoto in a pink creamy sauce with skinny shellfish parts. Soooo good. My wife's primi was gnocchi calamaretti e porchini. it was a bowl of small gnocchi with a variety of shellfish in a tomato based sauce and parsley sprinkled over the top. The gnocchi were soft and amazingly delicious. She ate the whole thing! I mean...it took her a while, but she did eat the whole thing. We shared a secondi out of curiosity more than anything else. Not that we needed another dish, but it was my wife's birthday, so- it was celebration eating. We got a bistecca di manzo donese. It was a medium rare thin piece of steak served with lettuce, cherry tomatoes and a lemon on the side. We also ordered a side dish of vegetables that wound up being snow peas cooked with tomatoes. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu, of course. It was so decadent! Oh my! Has this place changed ownership?!? Just went back (April 2019) and wow, my fab review has gone way down south! Rude waiters...they barely acknowledged us even though we had Italian, French & English speakers with us. We had to "beg" them to pay attention to us and serve us. Menu was limited and they were out of Prosecco, Four Roses Whiskey, many beers And even sparkling wine! It took half and hour for bread to come, and our Pastas were mediocre. They were out of so many things we wanted to order. It was 9:00pm on a Friday night. We had such a great experience last time we were here. I guess all good things must come to an end. The worst dining experience of 2018! I never write these reviews, but these guys really made it special. The vibe and the wine was good until they brought my entree which was pasta with asparagus and bacon. It was ridiculously over-sesaned. I rarely send food back and I really tried to eat it, but it was impossible. When I explained it to the waiter, he said it was some kind of cheese that they used. But then when other people asked what was wrong, he made it look like some foreigner is took picky. He brought some random tiny portion of pasta without even asking me what I want for substitute, and waited for me to taste it with everyone around me looking at me. Then he brought the check with full amount. I would recommend to avoid this place. There are plenty of options in this neighborhood. I live in New York. I have many different cuisines all the time and I'm well traveled. This was my third dining experience in this area. read more

Great food. We had the grilled octopus with truffled mashed potatoes. It was delicious, tender octopus and the potatoes complimented the octopus well. The only problem we had was the service. We felt rushed to order and finish our meal. We waiting 15 minute to be offered a dessert menu. We asked 3 different people for our bill and 30 minutes later we finally were able to leave (after we just took the bill inside to pay since we didn't want to wait again for the server to bring out our receipt). I would give this a 4-5 for food but a 2 for service. We'll probably give it another go since the food was great. read more

Wow, what a dinner! Last night in Rome and hotel suggests this place in Travestre. Travestre is a must on a visit to Rome. Had the shrimp risotto and "grilled" octopus. It was actually pan seared but menu said grilled. Wonderful food, atmosphere, and service. We were completely surrounded by Romans and were the only tourist there on a Saturday night. Make sure to go inside and look at the deserts. There is a picture of the wait staff on the wall that is classic. There are six people in the photo and all of them made it to our table throughout the evening. Our main server explained the menu to me in detail and made sure that I found the dish that best suited my tastes. The menu has a note that they wish people not to blast negativity on the internet but rather hand write them suggestions on how they can improve and better which I thought was awesome. read more
