What a hidden gem in Rome! Went here about a year ago and still think about this meal to this day. My party stayed here a long time, and the restaurant eventually filled up (we got there early for dinner). The break down of what my party ordered: Pane (bread) x2 - €2 - didn't really order this, it was just brought out at the start of the meal. Sauté Di Cozze (mussels sauté) - €10 - not a huge mussels fan, but I ate a couple. Looked really good, so I'm sure if you like mussels you would enjoy this dish. Risotto alla crema di scampi (risotto with scampi cream) - €12 - the scampi cream really stood out in this dish. I'm a big fan of risotto so this dish was still pretty good, but I personally don't care for scampi cream. Spaghetti alle carbonara (pasta with beaten eggs, bacon, pecorino cheese) - €10 - I've had carbonara before this (and have even made it myself at home), but I've never had carbonara as good as this. Usually I get sick of cream sauces on pasta pretty quickly, but I could eat their carbonara all day everyday. Definitely my favorite dish of the evening. - the pasta was the most al dente pasta I've had in my whole time in Italy. Spigola alla vernaccia (sea bass, olives, vernaccia wine, cherry tomato) - €15 - solid dish, didn't stand out. Panna cotta della casa (homemade panna cotta) - €5 - classic panna cotta, nothing special but still a great way to finish off the meal. To drink: 1/2 liter of wine - €7 - delicious for a wine and light, got me tipsy 1 liter of water - €2.50 Limoncello on the house! - the staff was very generous with their limoncello. It made the experience at this restaurant even better than it already was! Although there were a lot of dishes that weren't to my liking, it was more because I'm not a fan of the raw ingredient rather than the restaurant preparing them poorly. Since the carbonara really changed my life, the alcohol was generous, and the staff was amazing, I still give this restaurant five stars. I would definitely come back here again and recommend it to others. read more

I adore this restaurant. It has been a long time dream to eat real, properly made, and delicious Roman dishes IN Rome and this place came through. The cacio e pepe and carbonara quite literally made me emotional. It's so good. The mussels were also excellent, as was the fish and shrimp ravioli. We spent 4 days in Rome and ended up here twice. Hands down the best meals we had during our entire trip. Just go ahead and order the liter of the house red, you're going to want all of it. We even asked for more wine to go, which I don't think they do regularly because they filled us up a spare bottle from the back and it was perfect. The couple who runs is are accommodating and kind, no matter how much or how little Italian you know. Support places like this! read more

We got turned away from this place due to it being too crowded on the second night of Rome. We made reservations the next day and was able to get a table for 3. Upon sitting you get bread, breadsticks, and this flat, flaky bread with olive oil drizzled on top but they will charge you 2 Euros per person. We also got the house white wine which was pretty tasty as well. I got the carbonara and it was delicious here. I'd highly recommend if you are not craving the seafood pastas! All the workers were so kind here and made us feel very welcome. read more

@justpadge_eats Let me start of by saying 'RESPECT' to Frankie for an amazing dining experience. He chatted with us throughout our meal, a very genuine man. You can tell the passion and love for his job just in the way he speaks. I started off with the Sauté di Cozze (Muscles Sautéed) the portion size was larger than expected and they were so good I couldn't keep them for myself. I rarely share my food so my friends jumped at the chance to try some. Their reactions were similar to mine, bliss! These muscles were Silky, Smooth, Buttery are the first three words to pop into my head. Next the wife wanted me to take a picture of her dish she was so excited (and also let me try some) Cacio e Pepe (Cheese and Black Pepper) simple ingredients but a mouthful of flavor. I decided on the Ravioli di Pesce Cremolati con Gamberi e Zafferano (Ravioli stuffed Fish, Shrimp and Saffron Cream) when asked how it was, I couldn't answer and took another bite. I was in another place, this dish damn near broke da mouf! You can taste the love placed in making this dish. For dessert we had a Tiramisu that Frankie made himself. Like I said in previous posts, Italy is going to get me enjoying desserts. Then came a Limoncello Sorbet that was made right in front of us that was the icing on the cake. Smooth like gelato! Nice surroundings, but food was not something I would come back to. We had the starter of mussels and clams, which was the best dish, the seafood was cooked just to the right degree. The two pastas we had were both extremely cheesy, with little else in them apart from the meat, and did nothing to excite the palate. We also had the seafood grill main dish. The sea bass in this dish was crispy on the skin, but not flavored at all, not even with salt, and was overdone, so we ended up having bland dry fish. One of the large shrimps in our plate was exceedingly fresh, all the others were average. Total price was 55 euros for two people, it was a bit too much food and we didn't finish it all. The free starters they provided was a nice touch, it includes a bread basket, a glass of white wine each person, and a thin crispy bread we liked. Overall, the experience was ok, but I would not come back. read more

3.5 Stars. Was my first meal in Italy and was recommended by our Hotel. We went with recommendations from our waitress who recommended the 10 fish appetizer to start. We were a group of 4 so we thought this was an appropriate starter. The menu showed 17 Euros for 10 fish, so not too bad. Little did we know that they were to charge us 17 Euros per person for 4 separate orders of the appetizer. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. We would have definitely chosen something else, maybe a different variety, if we were all going to order our own appetizer. Also, we only ended up receiving 9 of the 10 fish dishes. The quality of the dishes was good, not amazing. I believe all of this fish was fresh which is a plus. We ordered a carbonara pasta which was filling and very cheesy. Overall I understand why some may give this place a high start review but for me this was my least favorite place for my 3 day stay in Rome. read more

Recommended by our hotel we loved this place and ate there twice during our stay in Rome. The staff mostly speaks good English and our waitress was super nice and friendly. We've had several dishes (all first course pastas) and have loved them. By no means a tourist spot (off the beaten path) but excellent eating and reasonable prices. Nice touches I enjoyed were the typical way of serving the apéritif glass of wine, the liqueurs at the end of the meal and the biscotti free of charge. I enjoyed the mussels as the starter, the linguini all'astice (linguini with lobster) as the primo piatto, and the lamb (abbacchio scottadito) as the secondo. Followed by the typical Sardinian dessert, seadas. The courses followed on at a nice rhythm, allowing just the right amount of time between dishes, with no rush yet no impatience. Great service. Good welcomed drinks and snacks. I read good seafood so ordered grilled seabass, but for me, it was overdone. I admit, I sulked at it for a bit while my husband ate his spaghetti and meat lovingly. He attempted to switch plates with me, but I figured I would just "not eat" my menu decision. The nice waitress brought me a calamari and crawfish plate to enjoy instead, probably because I was so sad my meal was blah. They charged me my original meal, but brought me a replacement. We're from the US and read about this place on Trip Advisor. We walked up and the manager greeted us out front immediately. We didn't know we should've made a reservation, but he found seats for the two of us right away. Let me say...we spent 10 days in Italy and this is the best service and some of the best food we had. Steak was amazing. 0.5L of house wine is just €6. Dessert was amazing...get the white chocolate cake. The manager even took off his suit coat, rolled up his sleeves, and started helping the servers when they were busy. Also checked on us, asked where we were from and how we heard of the place, and thanked us multiple times for visiting. Don't skip this place if you're in Rome. It was €69 for two entrees, 1 liter of wine, and two desserts...worth the money. They also provide great snacks/bread to start. read more

Best meal in Rome to my experience. I and my wife ordered grilled beef steak and 3 assorted seafood(crab, shrimp and cuttlefish) with spinach side dish. Truly tasteful on every piece of food. Not excessive but deep and smooth tastes coming from fresh resources and masterful cooking. Another joy was the choice of wine by the charismatic waiter that is meeting both beef and seafood. Definitely a bit out of the way, which was a blessing, because at the height of summer tourist season, most of the decently Yelp-rated restaurants in the area were completely packed with tourists. I had the tagliolini con fruiti di mare, as primo piatti and it was fantastic. I had veal for segundo and that was a mistake. It was fine, but the seafood is clearly the star here. The seadas for dessert was interesting and worth checking out. Service was pleasant and efficient. Prices very very reasonable considering the quality of the food. Definitely a winnner! read more

We were in Rome for 6 nights staying at a nearby hotel and happened on this restaurant on the last night. I'm sorry we didn't find it sooner, because the food was outstanding, and we would have returned. Of our party of four two had the ravioli, one the aribiatta and one the beef filet. We ordered the seafood risotto, lamb with potatoes, and prosciutto with melon. The seafood risotto is 11/10! Hands down best seafood risotto we ever had..
