Don't come here. First off, the portions are extremely small. I got a regular bowl (comes with 2 scoops of protein) and was very disappointed to see how small it was. The total came out to be ~11, which is ridiculous for how little they give you. However, the main issue isn't the price - it's the service. I came with my cousin and she was ahead of me in line. The cashier mixed up our bowls (we had different proteins) and put all of my cousin's topping choices on my bowl. After pointing it out, the cashier simply took a pair of tongs and proceeded to remove the toppings from my bowl and haphazardly dumped it all into my cousin's bowl. She didn't do a good job of taking everything out so my bowl was left with some toppings and sauces I didn't even choose. Here's what upset me about the whole thing. She didn't even offer to start my bowl over from the beginning. She just left it like that, with the rice soaked in sauces I didn't choose and leftover toppings from my cousin's bowl. This has happened to me at another poke chain before and the cashier apologized and offered to replace my rice and proteins. Instead, the cashier here just proceeded to ask me what I wanted and kept going like nothing was wrong. It's a really good thing I'm not allergic to anything or there would've been some issues. She also messed up my cousin's choices of proteins (gave her the tuna luau instead of the normal tuna) and just rushed us along even though my cousin tried to point it out to her multiple times. She basically ignored her the whole time. In the end, we just decided to pay and leave because it clearly wasn't worth the trouble. The worst part is that the poki wasn't even worth what we paid. The cashier put too much sauce in my rice so it was extremely overwhelming. This could've been avoided if she had replaced my rice after messing up earlier. But instead, it was soaked with sauces (that I didn't even choose) so I couldn't even taste anything else. I definitely don't recommend coming here. It's not worth it when there are so many other great poki places to choose from. read more

I come here ALL the time (at least 3 or 4 times a month). I usually come on Tuesdays or Fridays before meeting friends for our weekly cigar night across at the Bean. The food is fresh and healthy, they have a great salmon and staff is friendly...USUALLY. Today not so much. I ordered what I usually order, salmon salad, everything mixed. If fact I eat here often enough, if the owner sees me walk in, even if there's a line, she'll ask if I want the salmon, so they can get it in the grill, because it takes awhile to cook. I usually grab the front table, eat, listen to my music and read, enjoying a leisurely relaxing dinner after a "tough day" at the office. Today (Tues, 11/12/19 4:00 pm) I ordered the same thing. A tall young lady who has helped me often started the order and then passed it to a smaller Asian young lady (they aren't wearing name badges). As she's asking me questions about toppings, I said I wanted the toppings mixed in as well. She said, "We don't really mix those in because they get stuck to "something" (I don't remember what she said here). I told her pleasantly, "Sure, you do. I come here all the time and I get this all the time.". She said, "We don't because it gets..." I cut her off and said, "I get this all the time.". She said, "Well we're supposed to tell you." with this sarcastic smirk on her face. "It sticks to...". I said, "I don't want to argue with you. I'd like you to do as I ask." and I walked to the register. When I look back, she places the toppings the way SHE wanted. At this point I decided to mix it myself and not deal with her anymore. As those of you who read my reviews know I believe food is objective, service is not. The food here is really good, but not good enough to endure poor service or sarcastic servers. The are plenty of Poki places in Long Beach. I have enjoyed coming here and, up till now, the staff has been courteous, pleasant and on point. Disappointing. Parking is shared with the other businesses in the plaza it can get packed here also due to its in the near vicinity of CSULB so students may roam to here. We got the large poke bowl. You get your choice of white or brown rice and three choices of poke toppings and sauces. I went basic with white rice , tuna, salmon and albacore with some edamame, crab salad and furikake to top it off. Everything was good and fresh. The staff was so friendly and helpful the gal was great who helped us she was very encouraging and seemed like we needed more stuff in the bowl lol. AhiPoke is just okay. Not great, but not the worst. The garlic soy mirin sauce was good, but the tuna and masago were bland and the pickled ginger was dry. I'm super disappointed because I'm missing 5 toppings from my order: cucumber, furikake, daikon sprout, sesame seed, and mixed crisps. The restaurant wrote on the plastic bowl that they were out of cucumber, which is understandable. But it was frustrating to be missing so many others without a note or anything. It's your typical "build your own" poke place and I can't think of too many things to distinguish this place from any other poke place. Most other places give five scoops of protein for that price. It also charges $1 for avocado and tamago. I have been here twice so far and the food has been fine. Closest poke place to my house so I frequent this place pretty often. Its a small place hidden next to the Ralph's and it is super clean. I usually order the regular size (two scoops of protein) with half salad half white rice, a scoop of tuna luau and salmon, with soy garlic and house creamy. It always tastes fresh and sometimes I order the spam musubi for my boyfriend and I, which they cook when ordered. Nothing really that stands out here and the price is a little more than other places that give more protein which is the reason that I'm giving 4/5 stars. Today though, I was helped by a smaller, older, asian lady and since I know what to order ahead of time there was no way I was in there for more than 5 minutes which was great. I came here today for lunch on the recommendation of a coworker. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! I got a large with half salad half rice with spicy tuna, tuna, and albacore. They mixed the regular tuna and albacore along with the toppings and sauces in with the salad putting the scoop of spicy tuna on my rice. They topped it all off with a scoop of krab salad, masago, spicy radish, seaweed salad, and sprinkles of furikake and crispy onion. The topping are optional and you can pick and choose what you want. I wanted all of it so that's what I got. They charge you $1 for avocado but it's a half an avocado so to me that was worth it. Overall, the rice wasn't very fluffy and the onions were stale but everything tasted super good when mixed together. I got the house sauce and spicy creamy mixed with the salad and a little more spicy creamy on top. It was very filling and tasted very fresh. It was a happy experience right when I entered the door. The owner was there greeting every customer and they pounced to help me with my order immediately after I stepped into the restaurant. I just dove right into the order, but I did see a customer trying out the different sauces and fish before making his order (so if you're picky, this is a great place to go). I ordered the regular (2 scoops for $9.50) half and half (half rice and half salad) with yellowtail (additional $1) and scallops. The house sauce and house spicy sauce were very good (not too overwhelming like other poke spots). Don't be afraid to try the house spicy sauce. I'm not the biggest spicy eater and the sauce wasn't that spicy, but it added an extra zest that made everything taste a lot better. All the toppings were very good as well. My only crack at this place is that they weren't very generous with the yellowtail and scallops. But by taking advantage of their 50% off a bowl deal by buying a bottled water for $1.99, I really can't complain after getting such a great value. Tip: Apple maps did a terrible job of leading me to the place. It's in the big plaza with the Ralph's, so just go there. I've been coming here for a while and the food is very delicious and they alway did a good job and the customer service was great HOWEVER this last time I went I ordered through their app. I ordered kelp noodles with greens and also sesame seeds on my plate. My plate was missing greens and sesame seeds. When I called to let them know so they can pay attention and so that it won't happen to anyone else , because I couldn't drive back mind you I was on my lunch, a rude little girl answered and when I told her my issue she did apologize but barely and said that if the greens didn't show up on the receipt when they printed the order there's nothing they can do about it, so what I'm understanding from this is you're going to pay a good amount for a plate but if you order through their app and it doesn't come out on the receipt when it prints you're screwed and thats not their problem. It's like fast food poke. Not very fresh, not very good. Just there. Very expensive and small portions, so it's like a reverse fast food restaurant. Employees are nice though. Probably won't ever come here again. It's tough to find good Poke round these parts, I tell you what. Also, they up charge for tuna here. Man, I really regret eating this Poke bowl. I literally had to force myself to continue eating this bowl because I paid like 20 dollars for it and I don't believe in wasting food. It is a quaint, modern, Subway style poke bar that is a refreshing option for lunch in an area overwhelmed with fast food. You have the option of brown rice, white rice, salad, or half and half. A regular is 2 scoops of protein and a large is 3. I paid about $14 for a large and that seems a tad overpriced for what you're getting. Although yes, filling, still higher in price than other poke bars in Long Beach. I love the tuna luau, octopus, and kimchi shrimp. Everything I've tried has been fresh and delicious. There are a ton of options for toppings and add-ons!!! Everything is pretty much included in the price except avocado (although Tuna luau has avocado mixed in). Service was unfortunately a major downside. You can justify the overpriced meal with quality and portions but service was unbelievable. The employee clearly was bothered by customer presence and made all of us (myself and 3 friends) uncomfortable. With every topping and mix in I mentioned, a more bothered expression and heavy sigh was released by her. If I'm in the area (which is always), poke being an option brings me such delight but hopefully service improves. Give them a try, it's hard to find good poke! read more
