Came on a weekday during lunch and there were a few people in line. No one came to take our order for awhile so I was a little confused. A person came up and took like 5 orders at once and made all the bowls. I got the salmon shoyu poke bowl and it was pretty good. The fish had a nice texture but some parts were a little too salty for me. I wish they had more salmon options because I think there was only 2. They had a so many good sounding tuna options tho!! Definately a to go place they have no seating inside.

Have to update because of recent experiences. Giving them 3 Stars. Always fresh Poke. This is the bowl almost same as a plate. Love that it's a quick spot for fresh Poke. Customer Service is not out of this world just ok. It's not a sit and dine place. Don't like that they close their doors before posted closing hour of 6pm. By the time I get here after work it will be 5:30-5:45pm and they are CLOSED! This has happened on too many occasions. But I still come back. Giving 3 Stars because they close before their closing time.

Came last week & the value is good for the price but the shoyu tuna didn't have much flavor & didn't taste as fresh as the other flavors. The rice was also more on the dry/rough texture which is not to my tasting

Poke Etc is the spot for fresh poke and they never disappoint. This has been my favorite place since their Cerritos location. There's no seating available at the restaurant, so we had to take everything to go, but it was still just as good. We got the Hawaiian Cali, our all-time favorite, with shoyu salmon and spicy mayo. The shoyu salmon was a little too salty for my liking but still tasty, and the spicy mayo had a really good kick to it. The serving was also very generous, which made it even more satisfying.

I've been coming here for years, and I must say they are the only one that are very close to authentic Hawaiian style poke. Fresh and delicious. The Kama'aina Plate with lau lau & kalua pork with fresh Ginger Poke. The lau lau is a little salty, but the meat was tender. Kalua Pork was so moist and juicy. The Poke was as close to oyster sauce style as I could get. Mini cubes were nice and fresh. they only had a couple with that white connective tissue. Took a pic of their Musubi lineup but did not buy any. But I've noticed that the service has gone down lately. The new worker just doesn't have the warmth and welcoming attitude that the previous workers. There are a couple of stools if you want to eat in, but most are takeout orders.

FANTASTIC FIX if you're craving poke like how they do it in Hawaii and don't want all those extra sides!! Very helpful staff! They offered samples and gave generous portions--makes it really a bang for your buck and reasonably priced. Very easy parking too, just no dine-in options. If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time!

Quick service and fair portions! Plenty of flavor options; I always go for the spicy mayo but Hawaiian Cali is good too! Small shop but they also sell Filipino and Hawaiian goodies.

I've been coming to Poke Etc. for about 4 years, and the food has always been fire. Not gonna lie, a few months ago it felt like it was losing a little flavor, but they definitely made a comeback. The spicy mayo poke is my favorite, along with the kimchi tako and the spam musubi. The service is solid -- the people are cool, some are more talkative than others, but always chill. This spot is small, but that's what makes it special. Only real poke heads know about it. I love it here!!!!

Salmon poke spicy mayo

Was in the area and craving poke so I stopped by here for the first time..I got salmon poke. It was completely drenched with spicy mayo. Hard to taste the salmon when all I could taste is spicy mayo. I do love spicy mayo but it was over the top drenched lol. To top it off, it did give me a really upset stomach so maybe salmon wasn't fresh. Service was just ok.

Im not mad at this place at all. I forgot the flavor that I got but I was impressed for sure. The taste and portion was super fair in my opinion. What I liked about this place is they didn't go crazy with anything and kept it very simple. Included was just the poke and rice.

4/5 Customer Service, the young lady charging was nice and welcoming. 4/5 Store Cleanliness 2/5 Flavor and quality of food Had the combo plate with 2 different Poke's (Spicy Mayo Salmon and Sweet and Spicy Tuna) and added Mac on the side. First off the seaweed salad that comes with it was warm. I ate maybe 3 min after leaving the store, so no reason for that to be that warm, decided to just throw away. The spicy Mayo salmon poke was just okay, the fish tastes pretty good, not the freshest I've had and the sweet and spicy tuna was just bland... nothing sweet or spicy about it. The Mac salad was also bland. All together the total was a little over $22.00 Unfortunately, stomach isn't feeling too good after eating. Not sure if I'll be trying again. Maybe came on an off day..

Snacky time for cuz. They had a decent selection. The place was clean & well organized. We got SPICY MAYO AHI to go. It was decent. I was not a fan of the smell of the poke to go or the place.

I've always been the type to only get the California Rolls at a sushi place and when I felt a little adventurous I would get the occasional rainbow roll, so I came into Poke Etc. with a coworker with not much expectation of getting anything. As soon as the nice employee gave me a sample of the California poke, I was HOOKED. The poke was nice and fresh had an amazing flavor! Definitely coming back to try the others soon!

Ask the Community - Poke Etc

I have been trying to call to ask if you are open on Thursday, 11/24/22?

Sadly like many other businesses that are privately owned small food businesses, they will either have a full inbox 24/7 or completely ignore calls. it's not ideal but has become the norm unfortunately

Is this open?

This place is definitely open. They're only closed Sundays.

Small parking lot available +they have indoor and outdoor seatings but space is limited so probably hard to find seats when it's peak lunch/dinner time +super friendly staff! +omg honestly everything's been great so far. We ordered loco moco, garlic shrimp, hamburger steak, poke and chicken katsu and we loved it all. Chicken katsu is pretty ordinary but loved how crispy it was and their katsu sauce makes it perfect. Hamburger steak taste similar to loco moco but with mushroom and onion in the gravy so if you like to do two plates combo, get hamburger steak if you like loco moco! Garlic shrimp was crispy and I personally liked the flavor but if you can't eat shrimp shells, I wouldn't recommend it. Normally plates will come with rice and Mac salad and I usually opt for both. +did I mention they have desserts and it's amazing?! Tried their lilikoi, guava and haupia cakes and they were all great but if I were to put in order by my favorite, it'd be 1) haupia 2) guava and 3) lilikoi. Can't wait to come back here to try more food!

The kalbi ribs and their staple ( to me anyway) Lahaina fried chicken ( both tender and well marinated) cannot be touched anywhere with a 100 mile radius. Pro tip: get the fried rice with your plate ( Portuguese sausage is our preference) - add Ahi Poke and fried wonton ( chef's kiss). On Friday nights, have a beer, enjoy the live band, and dance of some calories. The friendly staff and the amazing interior was so welcoming alongside the well priced drinks with all different games on each TV made this place feel amazing. Once I started off with the spam musubi, I was surprised by how it was bland and un flavorful it was. Even though it had sauce on top it tasted like I just had rice with meat as it was lacking the seasoning. Our entrees arrived, which looked phenomenal, but was then again hit with blandness even though it was smothered in sauce. The burger was bland and the Mac salad tasted like mush. Maybe some changes to the sauce and adding more seasoning may help these amazing looking dishes as I wanted to enjoy them but sadly couldn't.

"Welcome to Gardena Bowl"…read more This was the greeting I got from the jolly, heavyset Hispanic guy working the counter at the Gardena Bowl Coffee Shop. He had such great energy and charisma - something that is missing in this cold and dark world. Gardena Bowl Coffee Shop is truly a hidden gem, especially for folks not from the South Bay area. It's an institution in South Bay and worth the visit for those who are fans of diners or Hawaiian food. Gardena Bowl Coffee Shop is a diner located inside a bowling alley, how cool is that?! The diner opens approximately one hour earlier (8 AM) before the bowling alley (opens at 9 AM), and you'll see some of the senior league members stopping by for their daily coffee. Their waitstaff never miss a beat; they will refill your coffee before you even ask, especially if you're sitting at the counter. The big fella, who I honestly wish I caught his name because he was such a jolly and kind man, gave me some recommendations. He told me to look for the shaka on the menu, as those items are popular dishes. He also provided some of his personal favorites. I decided to go with the Garlic Chicken, which was a healthy portion of crispy garlic chicken that came with a scoop of mac salad, broccoli covered in thousand island dressing, and a slice of an orange. I got a side of bacon and sausage fried rice, as someone on Yelp mentioned it was worth getting. I would probably skip the bacon and sausage next time as it's a protein and sodium overload, but it was definitely good. I think I should have opted for the Kimchi Bacon Fried Rice. There are several dishes I hope to try the next time I visit, such as the Loco Moco and Oxtail Soup. This is a legit Hawaiian-style diner. There's a reason they've been in business since 1945. I liked this spot so much I picked up a shirt to add to my collection. I can't wait to come back again soon!
