We were here with 12 starving young adults. There were a decent amount of customers for around 5pm. Initially I thought that it was but pricey as rolls were about $20 each and dinner bentos for two items were $23-25 bucks (considering we are from California) I was pleasantly surprised when our food came that there portion size were huge, good enough for sharing. The fried items were hot and crispy, the teriyakis were flavored properly, and the rolls had good rice to fish ratio. The place was clean and appealing. Check it out
Why have I not been coming here more often!? Especially when it's down the street!? Things were absolutely amazing tonight for our dinner and I think this might turn into a weekly affair! My husband got the Chirashi bowl and a Spicy California Roll and they were both top notch! He really liked how well the sushi rice was seasoned. I got a side a sushi rice, sesame chicken, and agedashi tofu. Now this might be blasphemous but I asked and the chef said all the chicken they used was breast meat!!!! That is huge for me cause I'm a white meat girlie and I can confirm the sesame chicken was breast meat and was SOOOO flavorful and moist!!!! Best fried chicken in town kinda chicken! I couldn't believe it! Plus we both got free miso soup which I almost never can eat because of too much dashi making it too fishy for me but this miso soup I could eat! The staff was sooo accommodating with me asking for different side sauces.
I came in a party of four on a weekend for lunch. I heard great things about Ahi sushi and after trying other local sushi restaurants, I was excited to try Ahi. The ambiance is very no frills and clean. The service was relatively quick after we ordered. I ordered the lunch bento with hand rolls of salmon avocado and tuna avocado. I also had salmon belly and otoro. The hand rolls were quite large and very tasty. The salmon belly was very tender and delicious. The otoro was the star of the show - it's my absolute favorite cut of tuna and I order it whenever I get the chance! It was so tender and melted in my mouth! Overall, we had a great time and I'll definitely be back for more otoro!
I'm not a sushi fan and I won't eat anything raw. That being said, Ahi Sushi is my new spot for rolls. Really tasty and the service has been consistent that part couple times we've gone, everyone welcomes you when you walk in the door. When my husband's boss comes out for work, Ahí is always his spot too. So I'm happy to tag along.
Went to Ahi Sushi to celebrate a friend's birthday with a group of 10, and overall it was a great experience. We timed it well and beat the rush, which definitely helped with seating and service. The service was good and the server was attentive and friendly, especially considering the size of our group. The food was fresh and came out in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the garlic edamame, which was flavorful and a great starter. The sauce that came with it was delicious and I used it with my sushi roll as well. I also had the rainbow roll and added jalapeños, which gave it a nice extra kick and made it even better. Overall, good food, good service, and a fun spot for a group celebration. Would definitely come back
Service was great! Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. My roll was not the best but maybe I got the wrong one.... I'll would try something different next time, but I don't think I'll return. The actual spot is small and cozy .. nothing special to return to
My wife and I love sushi, so we finally decided to try Ahi Sushi. I had read tons of positive reviews about this place and I'm glad to say it lived up to the hype. The staff were all very welcoming and extremely friendly. The sushi was all excellent. Everything tasted so fresh and was so flavorful. My favorite was the monster roll. It was my first time trying it. The rainbow roll was also great tasting. All the fish that was laid on top was all fresh and great tasting. My wife chose the Jimbo roll. The presentation was beautiful. We will definitely return as this is probably our new favorite sushi spot here in Bakersfield
Was invited to a birthday dinner and they had reserved a table for a large group. The restaurant itself is not very big. However, it is very popular, as we noticed, a huge turnout. It was also Friday evening. Service was excellent, very warm and accommodating. I really liked the miso soup; I finished mine as well as my husband's! The sushi rolls were standard, nothing spectacular. I suppose portions are good. My husband also ordered the mixed fried rice and it was good. I will definitely be visiting again.
Still one of the best sushi spots in town. The cucumber salad I ordered off the recommendation of another yelp review. Delicious! Much larger than I thought. We ordered it to split and still only finished half of it . The sushi we ordered was great. The food is really good. The 5th star is for the service. Above and beyond friendly.
3 years have passed and though we don't visit as much as we did in the past, the food is still great and the staff is great.. Looks like the prices have increased slightly but can't blame them for that and the portions (tuna dance, Hama Hama, edamame, and cucumber salad) continue to be healthy.. Looks like they have have managed to hire some additional staff to accommodate the increased crowds.. Keep it up and here's to the next 3 years!!
I went back after one year for lunch. Still the same great service. Same great vibe. I ordered an appetizer and 2 rolls. The portion was so generous I had to take half of the food to go. The soft-shell crab was amazing. The Stockdale roll and spicy tuna was amazing. Great sushi
If you haven't been this is absolutely the best place in Bakersfield for Sushi!!! Jenny and her husband put out a great product. The service is awesome and super friendly. The sushi is super fresh!!!!
This place was great. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. All the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. It was very busy in there but it didn't feel loud or chaotic, definitely a nice ambiance. Our waitress was new but she was lovely and very helpful. If you're looking for a nice place for lunch or dinner, this is a great one. You will enjoy the food and the space is nice too. Can't believe I hadn't tried it before!

Ahi Sushi is a family favorite! We've been coming to this restaurant since it was Ninja. This place is a hidden gem, located next to a Little Caesars in the Rosedale Shopping Center. When you walk inside, you're immediately greeted. The service has always been great! It's a nice, cozy vibe. The sushi bar is to the left of the entrance and there's booth-style seating on the right side by the wall. I love ordering their tempura rolls. The hot night roll and super dragon roll are some of my top picks! And their rolls are very filling. Great portion size! I love getting their green tea fried ice cream for dessert. Very clean establishment, especially their restrooms. Dim lighting is always a favorite for me, especially when I'm out with my hubby. We had dinner here and it was both of our first-time. I really hate that I have to give this place a 4 but it's because the spicy edamame was not to my liking and they do not carry pineapple soju. The food is definitely a must try, especially the beautiful yellowtail sashimi. The seafood yakisoba was so delicious. I did not care much for the baked salmon roll, Love Sushi takes first place for that roll and Prime Sushi take first place for spicy edamame. The crazy tuna roll I ordered was so big! The crunchy pieces on top can stand to sit in some absorbing paper towels because they were a bit oily but went well with the Tuna dance. I personally did not care for the bluefin tuna. Overall my babe and I enjoyed our dinner and will most definitely return for more. read more
Lovely little sushi spot in the Rosedale area. We took a lunch break here a couple weeks ago and ordered a cucumber salad and a spicy tuna had roll. To my absolute surprise, the cucumber salad is THEE BEST CUCUMBER SALAD I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!! I'm dead serious, you must try it, super fresh, great flavor and portions are bountiful. When I ordered a spicy tuna hand roll, I didn't realize it came as 2. Pretty average, though nothing really stood out about those. Complimentary miso soup is always a plus. Staff is friendly. This place was great. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. All the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. Came on a Friday for lunch and i was surprised how many people came at lunch time! But looking at their menu They have some good lunch deals. Interior was warm and clean, and had great soft lighting. Great fast and friendly service. My friend and I were seated quickly and given drink options. We had some questions about the menu and then ordered. They brought out 2 bowls of miso soup which was a nice touch, really yummy. I had 2 rolls, rainbow and Las Vegas. Both had some of the biggest pieces of fish I've seen at a sushi place! Really appreciate the big portions. Everything tasted fresh, I did taste a hint of something like vinegar and I think I normally like my sushi just a little sweeter if that makes sense, but all of it was delicious! We came to Bakersfield for a cheer competition and we were looking for places to eat. I will never regret to came here, service was great, food was amazing, atmosphere was peaceful, the bathroom was clean, all in all 10/10. 100 recommend read more

tens, 10s, diez, dix. I love this place. so cute inside and the service is so great! the salmon belly really takes it over the edge for me :) its my absolute favorite on the menu. the rolls were really good with super big portions, and miso is complementary. i would absolutely recommend this place. read more
Out here in Bakersfield I went to try this sushi restaurant. Encouraged by some of the reviews. Everyone was friendly and seated right away. I had to take one star away because of two things. First, when served the nigiri I was told what type of fish I ordered. It is normal for the server to at least explain which pieces I ordered. I ordered salmon belly (worth it if you find it at a sushi restaurant), yellow tail belly, bluefin tuna, and Uni (from Santa Barbara more sweeter than from Japan and good). Second, I asked for their most popular roll and was told they had already thrown away my ticket when I asked about it.... It wasn't that big a deal for me but definitely something to note. The quality of the fish was good. Tasty and fresh. They did not place a dab of wasabi under each piece of fish in the nigiri which was a little disappointing. I did notice at the sushi bar it was reserved and as a single surprised I wasn't offered a seat at the bar but was seated at a two top. Again just a detail. It was a well lit place and had a family friendly atmosphere. I do recommend this restaurant and would come back again. Everyone is friendly and the food is tasty. read more
I am quite a hater of Americanized sushi. But Ahi Sushi is a good place. Huge servings, worth the price! I got the katsu and a salmon roll. The katsu was too thin I think, meat was overcooked. Makes sense with how thin they flattened the meat. I love that the salmon roll came with some slices of sashimi. The tempuras were great as expected, and you get lots of veggies between the steamed ones and the salad. Health is wealth! Our servers were fun, they were cracking jokes with us and it helps our vibes as patrons having a fun dinner. I mentioned that my friend was celebrating his birthday and they got us some fried ice cream to share. The portion is also huge. We were struggling to finish it! read more

Always a good time with great food at this place! I totally see why they made the Top 100 in the country list. I took the little mini me this time for some mommy/daughter time and we ordered some rolls and salads. She's in love with seaweed salad so she enjoyed that. I tried the Salmon Dance Roll and thoroughly enjoyed it and the Sea Breeze roll is always great. The service is always wonderful. Our servers name was Carolyn and she was amazing! She made sure our drinks stayed full and answered any questions we had. Most definitely will continue to come here and enjoy more food. read more

This might be my new fav sushi place in Bakersfield! We wanted to go on a sushi date and were adventurous enough to try a different place. Service was quick! We ordered three rolls and enjoyed them all! Tuna dance was our favorite. There's so much going on with it! The marinated ahi tuna on top was so delicious! That was definitely the highlight of our meal. If we could just have a plate of what was on top we'd be happy! The roll itself got a bit wet under all the toppings but we'd still get it again. Summer breeze is such a refreshing roll with the lemon on top! Crazy horse is a huge roll and so unique. I don't think we've seen anything with a cross section like that. Delicious! Overall, sushi tastes great and they have such creative rolls. We are excited to try more rolls in the near future! read more

This is my new favorite sushi place!!! Like oh em geeeeeee!!! When I leave, I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. However, a staple on my table will always be TUNA DANCE and SALMON DANCE!! Like, what the heck!??!?!?! Who made that incredible combination of rolls, poke, and then topped with crispy fried onions!!!!! Sheesh!!!! Staple. I'm telling you, it's a staple on my table. Ok, let's talk about the ambiance... it's a cute place to dine with friends and family. Noise level is like you walked into a really fun party where every is just enjoying their food and drinks. All you hear is laughter and the chattering faded into the background. Service was sooooooo sweet. They are attentive to your needs but not overbearing where they are in your face every 5 minutes. The servers are always smiling and willing to help with menu questions or suggestions (how do you think I learned about the Tuna Dance) I can't wait to come back again .... I might become a regular here! So far... my foodie experiences has been delightful. read more

Ahi is a great sushi spot! I've come here quite a few times. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I usually come here for their rolls, but this time I opted for a bento! It was a great choice and very filling. I just so happened to be there for their lunch special too, so that was a pleasant surprise. Since I was dining alone, I was seated at the bar. It was fun to see the sushi chefs make the rolls. However, I felt like I was getting in the way of the servers grabbing the orders. They never reached over me, just on either side. It didn't feel very comfortable though. read more

Anyone know if they offer gluten free food?
Sushi is typically already GF. Just stay away from tempura, soy sauce, etc. and you're good.
