I recently tried OK Love Sushi while I was in town for work. It wasn't very busy during lunch time and I was greeted and seated immediately. I was told that they haven't been opened long - about a year, which is short in restaurant time. The staff were friendly and checked in on me often to make sure the food was okay. The restaurant was pretty big and there were ample booth and table seating options. I didn't see any outdoor seating though if that's what you're looking for. I also liked that the restaurant had really good lighting. I got the Kangnam Style Roll. I thought that the prices, which was $18, is average for most sushi restaurants in California. The roll was the right size to fill me up for lunch - I think there were 8 pieces? The fish tasted fresh and the rolls were well made; it didn't fall apart on me. Worst service ever. Waited over an hour after we had placed an order only for the same waitress to come back to our table to ask us if we had already placed an order and are we ready to order? Like if you checked in on us like you were supposed to, you would've caught that you forgot our order. Mind you there wasn't a full house or anything it was literally a few others there. We were wondering why people coming in way after us were getting their orders before us. Also during that whole hour of waiting no one came and checked on us but gave us constant eye contact? Service, food, and ambiance is thumps up. I think its a family run business. We got free sample appetizers which tasted good. We ordered the Gangnam style sushi and it was really good! I usually don't pick salmon sushi but this was very flavorful. The portions were big as well. I think they also have Korean dishes. My only negative comment was the pork tonkatsu; i think it was a lil dry and thin. Other that that, I recommend this place and will definitely be back! read more

The restaurant is always welcoming and always offering some type of special. This place is such a delicious sushi spot. Hidden off of Camino Media, Ok Love Sushi offers a plethora of amazing rolls and so much more. The ambiance is nice, I could hang there with friends for hours and feel comfortable. I have been to this location twice and both times, our service was exceptionally great! They're understaffed, but I could tell the effort the servers put in was commendable and quick! Both times, our servers offered us free items for us to try thanks to the sushi chef. Speaking of which, the sushi chef was amazing. Watching her make sushi was like watching art being created. The love she put into it really is apparent and respectable! After ordering our food, we sat for over 30 minutes. We started to notice people that came in after us were already eating. The waitress clearly forgot to put in our order. 15 minutes later, They brought out the wrong roll. Instead of quickly correcting it, i had to wait for them to make everyone else's food first. This is not your typical "love sushi" restaurant like the others in Bakersfield. They have Korean food as well! We didn't get a picture of our Tteokbokki or Bulgogi dinner as we ravished it as it hit the table. We've had Tteokbokki at other places and this has been the best by far. We had the Mexican roll which was amazing and the service was great. Very prompt and respectful and they tended to us very well. This place was surprisingly empty on a cold Wednesday night. We opted for udon and ramen. The flavors were sooooooo good. They use Korean instant noodles for the ramen but it still tasted good. I was Very happy with love sushi during the reopening I have gone several times throughout the month. The customer service felt very family oriented. I have taken my family there multiple times. They even call us by name? sushi chef has moved apparently to a new location. Tonight I was very disappointed due to my shrimp tempura crunch roll was raw, and the shrimp was still gray. I called in to see if I can get a refund or new roll. I would've taken in the old one to show them, but I was declined. I was told no refund and could not have a new roll. This place is a must-try! My boyfriend and I stopped by at around 11:37 because we didn't know when they opened. The front door was locked. As we walked back to the car, the owners parked and quickly asked if we needed a table for two. We walked and sat at a table of our choice. Within 5 minutes, they gave us a little appetizer and edamame on the house. The service was friendly and fast. The decorations of the dolphins on the walls were adorable. We ordered the Hawaiian roll and Coco roll. Both were very fresh and flavorful, and they looked beautiful. As we were asking for the check, one of the owners gave us a freshly cut orange.
