There's some good sushi places here in Bakersfield but Jin sushi downtown is hands down the best, the service is usually on point, the fresh rolls are my favorite! My husband loves the baked and tempura rolls. The sushi always taste fresh and the sauces are amazingly delicious. We usually order to go and the food comes out within 10 to 15 minutes of ordering. They always provide list of condiments and chop sticks which is a huge plus because most places won't give them unless you ask. Jin will forever be our go to sushi spot. read more

I have been a regular customer to Jin's Southwest location. I decided to check out their downtown location for lunch. This place is much bigger, dark tone, black wall, black table, black chairs, with nice accents. I was greeted right away, and the lunch was on the table before I could blink. I ordered the mango roll and volcano roll. The mango roll with sweet with sweet sauce, a very nice clean and fruity surprise. The volcano roll turn out to be a show stopper. They set the whole thing on fire, and you eat when the fire die out. When I opened the foil, a delicious and slightly spicy aroma hit me in the face. The roll was warm and delicious from the fire. I am very impressed with both rolls. I need to go back and try the dinner menu soon. read more

We were so happy we got to try Jin Sushi! We went in on a Friday night and only waited like 20 minutes for a table - which was not that bad for as busy as this place was! We were sat and they took our drink order and brought out the drinks (hot tea was yummy). The server was awesome with helping us with our questions and balancing all their other tables. I was seated very rapidly and my waitress appeared immediately to take my order. I began with the garlic edamame and mixed veggie and shrimp tempura. Enjoyed the large chunks of garlic with the edamame. The tempura is coated with a little too much coating for my preference but a good variety. They do have a fairly good selection of food which was a plus. I then ordered two rolls, the rainbow roll and the Pinky Funky. Both were filled with fish. I came on a Friday evening with my partner for dinner before the Bill Burr comedy show. It was very crowded and the servers were super busy. The inside was very lively and festive with all the decorations. We were seated after 20-30 minutes. We ordered the volcano, blazing dragon, toro tuna, blue fin tuna, and regular tuna nigiri. This is a go to for sushi whenever I'm downtown! The service was helpful and accommodating. We sat in their outdoor dining and it was quite enjoyable. Jin sushi.. your food and waited service, has absolutely hit it out of the box. BUT please read the whole review.. We shared the garlic edamame which was my absolute favorite and the best edamame I had ever tasted whatever seasonings with the generous amount of garlic was just heavenly. JIn Sushi could absolutely be my most favorite sushi place in Bakersfield if they fix a couple of little things It's only two problems I had with this place one was the seating issue, that they created when we first walked in I had a reservation and waited 25 minutes to be seated I only knew it was an issue because I talked to the lady behind me who had a appointment 15 minutes after mine with three friends and was seated before me, the whole process seemed unorganized and the young lady running it seem to be stressed trying to get it right. The next issue was me reading the health score violations during my extra 25 minute wait and trying to avoid any of the foods that were listed. Something I probably wouldn't have seen if I didn't have to wait 25 mins. after my reservation well researching any complaints about wait times. If management gets the seating issue corrected,and place up front who will stay up front and take command of the seating, keeping track of who comes in with reservations I think this would have been a overall better experience. I am a regular here, and happy hour Monday-Friday is definitely the time to try it out. Service is always fast and the girls are all so friendly, I love sitting outside and they have no problem setting it up for me every time. It can get a little busy sometimes but they are so fast that you are seated and food comes out quick. I haven't had anything I don't like here honestly. we ordered sushi and was horrible, it was made previously and when we brought it to waitress attention just we were told she is sorry and will talk to kitchen staff and left so we asked for manager , again the same things happened, she said she is just assistant manager and she didn't do anything, so we asked for general manager ( owner) we were told he is eating and they don't want to bother him!
