    New items!

Came with my daughter last Monday. I been wanting to try out this sushi restaurant ever since I seen the signage of sushi rolls being 50% off. We were greeted upon entering and seated. We ordered a new menu item Chicken Karage (fried chicken bites) and four sushi rolls. We ordered the Truffle Delight, Hawaiian roll, Alaska roll, and Coconut roll. All the sushi rolls were delicious and unique in their own ways. If you are a fan of truffle flavor, highly recommend the truffle delight roll! Does not have rice and looks like a squid! Super cute presentation. The Hawaiian roll is a must order for seaweed salad and tuna lovers! Delicious! The Alaska roll with generous pieces of salmon sashimi on top makes the roll buttery and delicious. The coconut roll is an elevated California roll with a coconut and mango twist! The restaurant was very casual and had a laidback vibe. My only note is the service staff could be a bit more personable ie asking if refills, utensils, or sides are needed. Highly recommend for high quality sushi reasonably priced!

Sashimi plate we added rice delicious, and fresh, Oh baby roll in the back very fresh and delicious crab and tuna

Yes, I would strongly recommend the sushi place to anyone. We thoroughly enjoyed the taste. The ambience the food and definitely the service was excellent. We will definitely be back..

Prime Sushi is the kind of local spot that makes you wonder if you've accidentally wandered into a love story--because honestly, I think I fell in love... with a sushi roll. And with their 50% off rolls, it's basically a buy-one-get-one-free soulmate situation. The moment the plate arrived, the sushi looked so gorgeous I considered introducing it to my parents. The fish was fresh enough to whisper sweet nothings, the rice had just the right tenderness, and every roll was crafted with the precision of a poet who also happens to be a ninja. The spicy tuna? A little flirtatious. The rainbow roll? A full-on personality. The crunchy shrimp tempura? A plot twist I didn't see coming, but am eternally grateful for. And let's talk about supporting local restaurants: Prime Sushi doesn't just serve food--they serve community magic. The staff makes you feel like you're part of the family, the kind that hands you extra soy sauce and compliments your chopstick skills even when you clearly have none. If you want a meal that feels like a rom-com starring you and a beautifully discounted sushi roll, Prime Sushi is waiting. Go support a local gem, treat yourself, and maybe--just maybe--fall in love along the wa

I came back because I wanted to try the ramen. The portion size is big and they do add a lot of meat to the ramen. Is it my top ramen choice in Bakersfield, no, but I'm reviewing off my tastebuds, so I would still suggest to give it a try. I would continue to come back for the rolls. The service was ok this time around. My server didn't bring a drink I asked for and a robot delivered my food. I also had to walk up the cashier to ask for my check to pay.

I just love sushi and a good deal. Sometimes it's hard to get both!! However, Prime Sushi has had their 50% off "Grand Opening" prices, and I just say, it makes their rolls taste that much better! I do enjoy the ambiance inside the restaurant. Nothing too small, not too big. It's very clean and there is always decent seating. Service is generally friendly. There was one time when it seemed a little busier than usual and our server seemed a little annoyed, but overall still had decent service. Absolutely no complaints about the food. There isn't one roll I haven't enjoyed and the portion sizes are perfect!

Wow! That was excellent, it has been awhile since I've had food this good. We loved the spicy seafood ramen! We had the spicy salmon roll and sun kissed roll as well, both had great flavor and very fresh. Our server, Mustfasa was so kind and attentive. We alway appreciate good service. The vibe was upbeat and we felt like we were out of town. 10/10

Went on a Friday afternoon around 1:30/2 and dined in for their 50 percent off deal. We had the rainbow roll and dragon roll. Both were good. Service was just a bit slow. Our rolls came and we didn't have our water or beer yet and had to ask the sushi chef. The music was also bumping, like loud club music with profanity, just a bit of an energetic vibe for an afternoon lol but can't beat the price! We will be back

I've came here a few times and it's a great place to enjoy a variety of sushi and soju at a good price. I'm usually only a fan of sushi with mainly shrimp, but we got a variety of salmon rolls and they were all delicious! Our waitress was very kind and attentive. The only downside is that they refuse to switch the TV channels. If you ever want to stop by while a game is on this would not be the place.

We decided to give this a try as the 50% off signature rolls was calling our name! My sushi was on the baked side but inside the sushi the spicy tuna felt raw?? I still ate it, the flavor was good but that threw me off! California roll is as expected. They only had one server and people were coming in and out so we NEVER got offered a refill on our drink. We had to constantly be trying to get her attention, not her fault but our experience.

Went for lunch on a Sunday for our first time eating here. It was very quiet and relaxing. Service was excellent and we were happy with our food. Ordered three rolls and a teriyaki chicken. Kids ordered a California roll and shrimp tempura. They were generously filled and satisfying. I ordered the rainbow roll, it was presented nicely and definitely filling. The teriyaki chicken was perfect and we went home with leftover. Glad we tried this place and will be back.

This was our 1st at Prime Sushi and I absolutely love this place. We went during lunch time and it wasn't busy at all. They are advertising 50%off sushi rolls. The staff were really friendly too. It was really clean and the ambiance was quiet. The rainbow roll was good and had just the right amount of portions. The only thing is that they didn't serve ginger and was I with your sushi. I'm sure you could ask for it. The Shrimp Tempura roll was one of the best I've had. I don't eat fresh seafood I have to eat it tempura style. I want to try the other tempura rolls they have and maybe one of their bento menu items. Definitely coming back.

The service here is spectacular. Very attentive. Very friendly and accommodating. The food is actually REALLY good and has great rolls. Lively and active location for conversation. Not much bad to say here. Only issue is the 50% off special rolls. The rolls are typically 40% less elsewhere so inflating the price, then doing a discount is a bit misleading. Still a great experience!

    Spicy bulgogi ramen, very good

A nice lunch date with the family per my daughter's suggestion. Always exciting to try out a new sushi / ramen spot. My first impression waking in was that I loved the vibe. Light music in the background, tv's at low volume, very relaxed. I was excited to try the spicy Bulgogi Ramen (keep in mind this was my first time trying ramen at a restaurant and before now the only ramen I had ever eaten was the dry bags from the grocery store ) We also ordered 3 different sushi rolls to share. The ramen: So good, I'm hooked. I'm the biggest sissy with spice so I was glad that their version of spicy was very mild. The broth was so flavorful and I also loved the texture of the noodles. The meat wasn't the best cut as it was a bit fatty and chewy, but I loved the dish overall. Fire Roll: Very good. Just what you would expect from a baked roll, warm and delicious. Honeystone: Very basic, plain. Looks great, but nothing special. Sunkist: Really enjoyed this one. Slightly sweet, very good. To drink I thought, what could go go better with sushi and ramen than a nice hot tea. Good idea, but not good. The tea had an odd smell, and the flavor was honestly tough to drink. Would not recommend. Service was good enough, but the waitress that helped us was a total mood killer. Zero enthusiasm, helpful but not friendly. My wife even commented how much she enjoyed the ramen and she didn't say a word or even crack a smile. Overall great food, but there are far too many options in town of the same cuisine to settle for unhappy service.

    Me and my amazing wife!

The food is definitely a must try, especially the beautiful yellowtail sashimi. The seafood yakisoba was so delicious. I did not care much for the baked salmon roll, Love Sushi takes first place for that roll and Prime Sushi take first place for spicy edamame. The crazy tuna roll I ordered was so big! The crunchy pieces on top can stand to sit in some absorbing paper towels because they were a bit oily but went well with the Tuna dance. I personally did not care for the bluefin tuna. Overall my babe and I enjoyed our dinner and will most definitely return for more.

I'm glad we did, because it gave us a whole new feel for the place. Inside isn't massive, but it's not cramped either. Think of it like the Goldilocks of restaurant spaces: just right. The vibe leans calm and cozy, dim lighting, black walls, and splashes of color here and there. It's got that "peaceful sushi zen" atmosphere without being boring. Our waitress deserves a medal (or at least an extra roll on the house). She was the only one working the floor, yet somehow managed to be friendly, attentive, and efficient all at once. Multitasking level: expert. Now onto the food, which is really why we came back. We ordered a spread: two teriyaki chicken plates, one chicken ramen bowl, an order of sushi crunch rolls, egg rolls, a large pineapple sake, a beer, and two iced teas. (Yes, we came hungry. Don't judge.) Everything came out quickly, hot, and fresh. The chicken was juicy, the rice perfectly cooked, and the little bed of veggies under the teriyaki chicken was tender-crispy and surprisingly addictive. Whoever thought of tucking those under there deserves a raise. The ramen had bold flavors that hit the spot, and the sushi rolls lived up to their name, they really were crunchy and delicious. Now, the egg rolls. Let me tell you, these might just be the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and stuffed with flavor on the inside. The kind that makes you regret ordering only one plate. Drinks? The beer was cold (and surprisingly affordable), the iced teas were strong and refreshing, and the pineapple sake... well, it was different, let's just say it's not everyone's cup of tea. Personally, I'll stick to tequila, lol, but my husband happily claimed the sake as his new favorite. Win-win. Prices here are fair and budget-friendly, which is always nice to see at a sushi spot. The place was clean and well-kept, and I'm happy to say it still holds up just as well as when I ordered takeout years ago. Bottom line: Shoyu Sushi is still doing its thing, fresh food, good prices, relaxing vibe, and service that makes you feel taken care of. If you want sushi that crunches, teriyaki that comforts, and egg rolls that just might ruin all other egg rolls for you, this is the spot.
