Le Lapin Sauté - Poutine with pulled rabbit

I also had a great Seatea Kombucha made from Nordic sea buckhorn. Great lunch experience. Service was fast, friendly and efficient.

Absolutely adorable restaurant outside and inside. You feel like you're in a rabbit burrow. The decor is carefully thought out and charming. The pulled rabbit poutine was great with a mustard sauce instead of the brown gravy you usually get with poutine. The small appetizer poutine was already the perfect size to share along with our smoked duck winter salad and onion soup. Onion soup was made with ale and was covered in cheese. The only thing was that I wished the soup had more broth than cheese. But the onions were tender and cooked down thoroughly. The cheese pull you get is foot long! The broth had a depth of flavor that is not replicated elsewhere. I had the honey pie years ago and remembered that it was sweet, but very good. We didn't have room for dessert, but the maple amaretto creme brulee sounded amazing. All in all, a great meal everytime.

We were seated on the patio and our very sweet server was right out to take our drink order. Since we are eating Poutine all over Canada in search of our favorite. We so enjoyed sitting on the patio, it was a beautiful day, we were people watching and enjoying the umbrellas place up the alley. Our poutine was delivered to the table and I can honestly say it was our favorite. The fries were crunch and creamy on the inside. The gravy was rich and had a deep flavor and the cheese curds had lightly melted. Every bite was perfect. The eatery and bar are tucked into a stone house that dates back to 1668, if only the walls could talk. The bar and restaurant feature local Quebec cuisine and is a gem. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere.

We had 9 people and they sat 5 at a table and 4 at the bar and we were completely fine with the arrangement. It is quaint and small and we could see our family and even shared some food since we Were close enough. The cheese fondue is not to be missed . It was absolutely the perfect start to our meal. Then we shared an original poutine and it also was delicious- best I had on our trip thus far! I ordered mussels for my meal and a steaming pot arrived and they were yummy. Ambiance and service were great. They accommodated our awful French attempts. Drinks were large. Honestly, I feel lucky to have dined here. Everything was wonderful!

I don't eat deli ham, so I was wondering if I should swap it out for chicken or just leave it off, but decided to trust European style dining because we're not in the US, peeps, and yeah, it was chunks of real ham. Came with a salad. Should have each ordered it and skipped the respectable but can get it anywhere strawberry & blueberry crepe with raspberry sauce, because I will rhapsodize about that Crepe La Saint-Louis. Then we also had a maple butter crepe, which has a scoop of ice cream inside, and which would have been so much better if we'd eaten it in the other direction. Thing is, when you maple butter the crepe on the griddle, it's the center working out that gets the good stuff, not the edge. And folded around the ice cream, had we started at the thickest part we'd've had the best part and work our way out to be mopping up the melt and squish and spill from forking up ice cream using the drier edge part. But starting with the edge, it seemed like a very unimpressive, largely just crepe batter concoction, and by the end we were trying to mop with the part that was already saturated. Learn from our mistakes! Attentive service, patio seating very chill.

Personally, it was a treat for me trying out something different, but I do not think everyone would appreciate its almost raw meat and liver-like texture. The Tartare comes with fries, a salad, and crouton to round up the order. We upgraded the side of fries that came with the Tartare into their Tout Cochon poutine. I was happy with that option that way I was able to sample their house poutine without needing to dedicate a full meal order for it. I can say this was among the best poutines I have had. The gravy was rich and flavourful. The poutine was also loaded with a variety of different proteins like the Gaspor farm ham and the bacon-wrapped sausage. The perron cheese curds also perfectly topped off the whole dish. Our last order was the Quebec pork chop marinated and grilled with maple and tamari. It was served with apple chutney, sweet potato mash, and seasonal vegetables. It is exactly as you would expect with the ingredient details of the dish's name. You get a lot of different flavour profiles and textures with the meal order. Some saltiness with the pork chop then some sweetness with the apple chutney. Meaty tenderness with the pork chop, mushiness with the potato mash, and then some slightly crunchiness with the seasonal vegetables. We dined on Sunday lunchtime the day before Family Day. There were people waiting to be seated by the time we arrived, but fortunately our group of only 2 people has a table spot available so did not need to wait. We were led down flights of stairs to the lower floor which was level with the street below. The whole place with its classic walls and decor exudes with classic charm.
