Their menu board focuses on fondue but that's not a breakfast offering, and besides, crepes! AMAZING Crepe La Saint-Louis, which had ham, mushrooms, cheese, & cream sauce. I don't eat deli ham, so I was wondering if I should swap it out for chicken or just leave it off, but decided to trust European style dining because we're not in the US, peeps, and yeah, it was chunks of real ham. Came with a salad. Should have each ordered it and skipped the respectable but can get it anywhere strawberry & blueberry crepe with raspberry sauce, because I will rhapsodize about that Crepe La Saint-Louis. Then we also had a maple butter crepe, which has a scoop of ice cream inside, and which would have been so much better if we'd eaten it in the other direction. Thing is, when you maple butter the crepe on the griddle, it's the center working out that gets the good stuff, not the edge. And folded around the ice cream, had we started at the thickest part we'd've had the best part and work our way out to be mopping up the melt and squish and spill from forking up ice cream using the drier edge part. But starting with the edge, it seemed like a very unimpressive, largely just crepe batter concoction, and by the end we were trying to mop with the part that was already saturated. I was intrigued with the place every time I passed by. Crepes and fondue, what could go wrong? So we planned to eat here for our last meal in Quebec City. Service was fast and really friendly. It was really central and a cute little place. There was even live music. At 6:30 pm, the place was not so crowded for a Friday night. We got crepes: Apple and cheese, and ham and cheese. Pretty basic and tasteless. The maple syrup was definitely needed. But it couldn't be helped. The salads were douched in dressing, and I just couldn't finish it. My child's spaghetti was pretty good at least. I think for the price point and location it was not a good. There are many great places to eat in the area, and more value. read more

I really don't like giving negative reviews but I have to be honest, the service here is terrible. We went in on Saturday afternoon for a cocktail after walking around town. Our server Pascal, could have cared less that we were there. We were impressed with the fondue on their menu so we made a reservation for Sunday at 6 for our dinner hoping it would be a better experience. It was not. Even though we had a different server we still had to flag someone down to tell them we had not been approached by anyone to even take a drink order much less our food order. We watched as two ladies got disgusted with the fact that nobody came to their table to serve them and they got up and walked out. The fondue was good, but the management needs to wake up and address this because no one wants to be ignored when they are paying for food and service and the service is non existent. Have been to this place a few times now - and we make sure to visit every time we are in Quebec City. This little restaurant sits literally in the shadow of the grand Chateau Frontenac Hotel which itself is on the boardwalk of the St. Lawrence River. The restaurant faces Rue Saint Louis and is in the heart of all the activity. We dropped in one evening - when the place really comes alive - to have a few Canadian beers and some poutine (what's not to like about that mixture). The beers were great, and the poutine was 4 star stuff with a nice rich veal-based gravy. And they know how to French fry the potatoes to avoid giving you limp ones - good poutine. We did not have any crepes! All in all this was a nice place. Great location, nice vibe to all the activity going on in the neighborhood, and really a perfect walkable spot on your adventure in Quebec. The restaurant has a dozen or so tables inside, but most of the seating is on an outside deck that is fabulous when the weather co-operates. Give this place a try - and have poutine. read more

If I could give this restaurant zero stars, believe me, I would. For a place that prides itself on authentic Quebecois cuisine and traditional French desserts, this establishment fell woefully short of expectations. Upon ordering my dinner, the "parmesan cheese" tasted more like sugary sawdust than any cheese I had ever tasted. Never have I seen such an atrocity! It was a culinary crime, one I find unforgivable in such an establishment. Even the "tomato sauce" on the spaghetti tasted more like watered down salsa than anything with French heritage. The atmosphere of the establishment was equally dreadful. The owners clearly don't care about creating a hospitable environment; they have no appreciation for the aesthetic of the restaurant and the ambience was stale and offensively forgettable. I don't want to get on a soapbox, but as someone who takes pride in the spectacular cuisine of Quebec City, I find it appalling that this restaurant continues to stay open and taint the good name of the great city. Went here for a late breakfast one morning because, as were all of the places we dined - close to our hotel. And because they proudly display a large awning with the words "creperie". You first walk into a small reception before getting seated in the back which is a decently sized room with an entire wall of windows. It feels like a sun room almost. The decor and table settings were very minimal. I ordered a breakfast crepe - eggs and bacon . It wasn't all that special, nothing to write home about. Pretty plain tasting. Not much to say but if you're looking for a nice ambiance then stay. The outdoor courtyard where we were seated was delightful and Our server was decent no complaints there! Our late lunch here was just short on one thing "taste" and it's such a shame cause this place has such potential with just where it's located nearby such an iconic hotel. We ordered the Crepes and they were like burnt shoe leather and stuck to the plate (if I made what they served us at home my dog would have jumped up and bitten me where the sun nebber shines!) We wanted crepes for lunch and found this place near the Fairmont. There were only two tables occupied at lunch. This didn't appear to be a popular place. I should have checked reviews first. We thought the crepes here were simple. Mine lacked flavor and was dry. I had the apple and cheese crepe, my husband had the egg and mushroom. We ordered hot apple cider which was fantastic, though. The glass was rimmed with cinnamon and had orange slices as garnish. The man that seated us was also the server. He wasn't very friendly and I felt a bother to him. He had no energy and looked like he'd rather be elsewhere. The restaurant itself would be cute at night when candlelit, but he silverware was cheap and the white paper napkins even cheaper. Good fondue and a good place to try raclette. We had never tried raclette before so after reading about this restaurant, we decided to try it. The menu also includes fondue and crepes. Ultimately we settled on fondue for two (plain cheese), one order of raclette, and one plain veggie plate (which we ended up using as well.) the fondue was delicious. And while I did not love the flavor of raclette cheese, the presentation of it by the restaurant was quite strong. A good family restaurant, the dining room may initially seem a bit chilly, but once your fondue or raclette arrives, you'll warm up pretty quickly. read more
