    two drinks on a table
    Erika T.

I'll start by saying we just came for cocktails so I can't speak to the food taste. The service around 5pm on a Saturday was pretty good. Our server did seem a bit miffed we were not ordering dinner, but we were at a high top in the bar area because we only wanted cocktails. He left us alone after delivering our drinks which was fine because we were playing a card game, but he also seemed to be ignoring us in favor of tables with higher tabs. The ambient sound was good, not too loud despite the restaurant being fairly full. The runners passed by our table with food that smelled heavenly and desserts that looked excellent. We would've gotten a small bite if we didn't have dinner reservations in under an hour. The drinks were good, average priced, and strong. Pretty water views from most tables. Parking is available in the garage and it sounds like they probably validate it. Not sure how long parking is available for.

Duck confit salad and a bloody ceaser

Stopped by on a whim and we were not disappointed! Seated right away at a table with a beautiful view of the river . Had bloody ceasers while watching the sailboats go by . The duck confit salad was perfection ! Will definitely stop and visit again !

GRILLED SQUID on the menu, but actually it turned out to be Calamari steak in US English term...

We came in just before the storm hits the town. I can hear the wind howling. The restaurant had good ambience, music and lighting to keep you warm and cozy. The waitress was friendly and made her best to speak French accent English with us and through the menu and questions on the drinks. We ordered different dishes and there were some good and miss and fun...(I will explain alter). Dessert Lemon meringue pie was awesome. Friends were happy about their main dishes. Appetizer, grilled squid, was disappointing by the look and we soon found out it was actually calamari steak. Not sure it was US vs French terminology on "squid". It was fresh and decent but if we knew it's calamari steak, we wouldn't order. Veal Liver was soft and cooked with wine. Also It was salty due to the sauce. They didn't cook off the wine fully, so; at the end of completing the dish, I was drunk... Other waitresses were nice to order the taxi for friends and I. Also the storm actually started to kick in when the taxi arrived. Friends were very happy to have the taxi taking us back to the hotel we stayed although it was intentional in the first place. (We walked about 1 mile or more from the hotel to the restaurant). Overall, yes, we will be back next time when we re-visit Quebec city.

Delicious brunch with a beautiful view of the river! We had: veg omelette, Eggs Benedict with salmon, Two egg combination platter, and fruit. Friendly and helpful server.

Absolutely amazing Canadian French cuisine. Perfect service and reasonable prices. We had dinner and came back for brunch. Enjoy

Beautiful resto. If you can get a table by the window the view is remarkable. The food awesome. Staff great! Was there for my birthday and I enjoyed every moment.

Great view! Great staff however, the menu said classic items all included potatoes but they just ignored it even though I brought it up. Had to order extra.. if there's ever soemthing you don't offer, just remove it

Duck leg confit - delicious and filling

Wonderful service, delicious food that is worth the $$, extensive wine list! **Disclaimer: Contrary to what we thought as tourists, this is not affiliated with the notorious Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. We originally didn't do much research and thought Le Café du Monde was related, but nope! Despite this... FOOD: Selection was great! There's some classic and creative menu items. I had the duck confit, which was tender and seasoned well. The duck leg sat on top of a light cranberry sauce that complemented it well! It came with delicious vegetables (asparagus, carrot & tomato) and roasted potatoes with a sweet balsamic glaze. Delicious, one of the best duck leg confit I've ever had. SERVICE: Our waiter was charming, accommodating and very knowledgeable! He checked in with us, gave very helpful recommendations, and made light conversation, which was nice since we were visiting Quebec City at the time. VENUE: Le Café du Monde is located along the St. Lawrence river, above this nice porch area where live music was playing during our dinner. The restaurant is large, with indoor and outdoor tables, and is classy in decoration. We were able to relax and enjoy our time while looking out at the view. Overall, would recommend for a nice dinner for an occasion!

    Chocolate mousse.

I expected a bit better, but overall the experience was satisfying to a good enough degree for me. The location of this place can be a problem if you're coming from Gare Fluviale, cause there are no signs leading to this restaurant. There is a giant sign if you're coming from Vieux Quebec, however. The exact location of this restaurant is the side of what looks like a ferry building, and there is no free parking here (unsurprisingly). All servers here speak excellent English, so translating is definitely not an issue. They have an English menu for the everyday items, but their blackboard specials are in French, and yes they will translate everything for you. We had the chef's soup of the day (tomato cream soup), lobster special, french onion soup decomposed, fillet special, oysters, and duck confit. The soup of the day, lobster special, and fillet special were all excellent. The french onion soup and duck confit were nothing special, but acceptable. The oysters we had were quite small compared to the other raw ones I've had. Dessert include a creme brulée and a chocolate mousse. The chocolate mousse was quite thick, but a little too cold considering its thickness. It would've been much better if the mousse was slightly warmer to melt with the thickness of the chocolate. Service started excellent, but the server seemed to have neglected us after we got our main courses. Eventually another server took over and took care of us to a satisfying degree, however we were charged an additional 15% in service fees, which wasn't printed on the receipt...instead it was written in addition to the print. Maybe cause we were a table of 5? Not sure.

Nothing will come close to comparing! We heard good things about the hot chocolate here and wanted to check it out for ourselves after being out in the cold all day. We chose the spiced hot chocolate, as recommended by our server. It was absolutely delicious-- rich, flavorful, creamy, and everything that a hot chocolate should be. Although the price was a bit steep, we had enough for 4 small cups and it came with two scones and whipped cream on the side. We also got two "biscuits", which we thought were going to literal biscuits, but ended up being small pastries which were both tasty! We were lucky enough to snag the seats right next to the fireplace which ended up being the perfect way to spend an hour hanging out. We ended up coming back for a light dinner the same day and also really enjoyed our time. There was a live pianist performing which really elevated the dining experience. We started things off with some oysters, which honestly were some of the best I've had in a very long time. The dipping sauce was a bit strange and untraditional for me, but it was perfect with just a bit of lemon juice. We also got a burger to share, and when they accidentally brought out a side salad instead of the fries we requested, they let us keep the salad and brought a huge entire order of truffle fries for us (!!!) Canadians really have some of the best fries too because these were perfectly crispy and honestly didn't even need dipping sauce. The burger also didn't disappoint and was savory goodness. I wish we tried this place sooner! Would highly recommend, even if you're not staying at the hotel itself.

Rich, slow-cooked flavor, hearty without being heavy, and perfectly complemented by fresh greens and crisp bread. What truly elevated the experience was the amazing service from our waitress. Started with a few favorites from the fabulous waitress who took great care to go over the menu with my group before we ordered. The French Onion and Creamy Tomato were both excellent. In particular, the French Onion might be the best iteration I've ever had. The crusted cheesy, bready top held up well to savory broth and caramelized onions. The Buvette, Tartare, and Escargot were all also very delicious. The Buvette was tender and beefy on top of a bed of cream of corn, roasted corn and tomato caramel for a slight sweetness. The Tartare was a classic rendition, beefy and mustardy, and one of the few times I've had tartare that was filling. After our meal I was snapping a photo of the restaurant and the owner Louis saw me and took a few photos for me. He's an excellent photographer as well!

Absolutely adorable restaurant outside and inside. You feel like you're in a rabbit burrow. The decor is carefully thought out and charming. The pulled rabbit poutine was great with a mustard sauce instead of the brown gravy you usually get with poutine. The small appetizer poutine was already the perfect size to share along with our smoked duck winter salad and onion soup. Onion soup was made with ale and was covered in cheese. The only thing was that I wished the soup had more broth than cheese. But the onions were tender and cooked down thoroughly. The cheese pull you get is foot long! The broth had a depth of flavor that is not replicated elsewhere. I had the honey pie years ago and remembered that it was sweet, but very good. We didn't have room for dessert, but the maple amaretto creme brulee sounded amazing. All in all, a great meal everytime.
