Good food but on the expensive side for what you get. Still not high quality Mexican food which is common in the PNW.

Beware: overcharged by a few bucks! First I would like to mention that the food is actually pretty good here. But dont expect chips and salsa when youre seated. They give you a corn tortilla with refried beans inside and salsa for dipping. The salsa was made for white people as it was so bland and not spicy at all. But what left a bad taste in my mouth was the fact that they were super busy when we went on a Sunday night and because they looked like they were running around like chickens with their heads cut off they mistakenly overcharged me. They brought me one receipt which had a certain amount and I put my card to pay, they ring it up and bring me another receipt with the amount they rang it up for. The receipt they brought back with my card was a different amount. The waiter who looked like he was 16 didn't mention it at all! So when he walks by I'm like "hey why is this amount different than the other receipt?" He says "oh they accidentally brought you the wrong receipt, the one they brought you first was for a different table" So I just took his word for it but I still felt uneasy. The next day I look up their menu online and realized that whatever random receipt they brought me totaled to $3 more than what we ordered. I didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of calling them for a measly $3 but still I'm pretty annoyed about being overcharged. So in summary, the food is really good, but your bill will be a surpise! read more

I like this place. It is the antipathy of a chain Mexican restaurant. Located in a small house, half a block off the boulevard, we would have never known it existed without this site. There are Maybe 8 tables. The menu is varied but delicious. Never know how to describe authentic but this might come close. My shrimp was described as hot and spicy and that was accurate! Everyone enjoyed. Two adults, two kids, two premium margartias , two deserts, less than $60. A hidden gem. We will return and soon. read more

Amazing food and such awesome service!!!! The carne asada plate was well prepared. So tender and such a healthy portion. I had the pollo a la diabla. It was perfect! So i live like 300ft from this place so i decided to check it out. There food is just like any othere Mexican restaurant, they dont have authentic food and its way over priced! I can make the same thing but its authentic i make it my own and i make my tortillas as well so when they lower there prices and make there food more authentic then i will consider going back. read more

Tiny cute little Place, don't blink or you might miss it. However their food is amazing, I seriously could eat here everyday and never get tired of it. We have been a couple of times and I enjoyed the food and service. I love their tortilla soup and the nacho is great! Big enough for an entrée or a starter for four. I have been here 3 times and every time I say why don't we come here more often?! The food is so excellent and authentic! Everything tastes fresh and such great flavor. Their margaritas are delicious and I am not a huge fan of margaritas but I always order one here. Instead of chips they bring you little bean tacos that are very tasty and as much as I love my chips and salsa it's refreshing to be able to enjoy your meal because you're not full on chips by the time the food arrives. The service is spot on. The staff is always cheerful and friendly and prompt! I highly recommend the Carne asada! Probably the best I've had at any mexican restaurant outside of Mexico!! This place is amazing! My husband and I went last night. It's within walking distance from our home, and we were really glad we finally went inside. Found this adorable Mexican place by accident with the intent of going to the tea room that used to be at this location. What a fortunate accident! BEST tacos de pescado I've EVER had (and I've had them in Mexico before). My friend ordered the veggie quesadilla and that was delicious as well. The place is small, clean and cozy -- with walls painted in a happy yellow. The server/bartender was so sincerely attentive, I wouldn't be surprised if she recognizes me the next time I go there, which I plan to be very soon and often! Couldn't easily locate the bathroom, but I still feel it should get highest stars for the food, value, service and ambience. read more

Easily the best Mexican food in Gresham. A little out of the way and difficult to find, parking isn't great, but the food is oh-so worth it. It has some very rich flavor and spices. Excellent food! We were passing through town on our way back from Mt Hood and had read so many great reviews. Having family in town from Texas we wanted good, authentic Mexican food...and we certainly got it! We had a large group, but we were greeted immediately with little bean burritos with an amazing sauce! Our food arrived quickly, the waitress was very friendly and there was more than enough food. An old converted house. The service was good, and they gave us some bean burritos instead of the regular chips and salsa. The food I got was nothing special, but some of the orders around me looked better than what I selected. I was so excited to try this restaurant after reading many good reviews. I ordered for pick up and the person on the phone was friendly and helpful. When I got to the restaurant it was clean and the staff who greeted me and got my food were very friendly. But when I got home and tried the food, I was so disappointed. My husband had the tacos, both beef and chicken. The beef was tough and chewy (flavor was good though) and the chicken was flavorless. I ordered the burrito de la Casa with both beef and chicken. I took one bite and it was so salty, I couldn't eat it. I had my husband try it too and he agreed. It was as if someone accidentally poured a bunch of salt on it. I really wanted to like this restaurant, but it just wasn't good in my one experience. I didn't even like the food enough to give it a second chance. read more

The only reason that I have given this place the rating of a one star is that beer was cold. I had chicken tacos, they were the worst that I have ever had. The meat was very very dry and very tasteless. The meal came with a side of beans that I could not eat, they were terrible. Thinking maybe it was just me I ask my wife to taste them, her reply was "don't eat them" They had that fresh out of the can taste. This place is the only Mexican restaurant that does not serve chips and salsa, instead they give you a small corn taco with runny beans inside, very tasteless. The veggie burrito was the worst I have ever had. Anywhere. Billed as "SEASONAL" grilled vegetables, but no peppers or onion to be found. It's freakin' peak of pepper and onion season, tomatoes too! WTH?! I can seriously say that it was mostly filled with cauliflower, broccoli stems and florets, and carrots (the FROZEN crap you feed the kids on a busy night and hope they eat it). There were some fresh mushrooms and tomatoes and they were the only things going for this mess. Total lack of seasoning. I was literally dumbfounded when I unrolled it to put in some sauce. Very, very disappointing - and unfortunately this was our first time there and we placed a to go order due to family illness. So when we got home the burrito was picked apart and mostly tossed. Money wasted. AA needs to go to El Nutri Taco and learn what to put in a veggie burrito, especially if they don't want to put peppers or onions in it at the peak of the season! A few other notes: Guacamole was average (it at least was fresh and not out of a bag) but needed salt. Carne Asada tacos were filled with dried out beef (end of day Sunday...last call?), and the Casa Burrito per DH was mostly rice with little protein that was also dried out. He hated it.
