Beyond easy experience with Chris. My dryer suddenly started giving off a burning smell, which I…read moremistakenly attributed to the lint catch being overloaded. But even after cleaning it out, the smell wasn't going away. Then the vent started giving off either smoke or steam, and in a panic I immediately turned off the dryer. Thank God I didn't start a dryer fire. The second I shut it off and made sure everything was ok, I opened Yelp and searched for a dryer vent cleaner. Chris's Insulation came up, he had great ratings, he was super close by, so after calling a different service and going to voicemail, I called Chris. Chris picked up after the second ring. When I told him that I needed someone to clean our dryer vent and what had happened, he said he could come out either between 5:00 and 6:00 pm that evening or the next day. It was already mid-afternoon when I called, so I was surprised to hear him say he could still come out same-day, but I decided to have him do that since I was free and also still a little shaky following what happened with the vent either smoking or steaming. Chris showed up during the window he quoted and wasted no time getting to work. He started the second he arrived and was done within the hour. His pricing was incredibly reasonable and fair and so far, in the couple of weeks since he was here, we've had no issues with the dryer. Before he left, he also sent us a ton of pictures of what the vent looked like post-cleaning. Super happy and relieved.

We were initially told by another HVAC company that we needed to replace all of the air ducts and…read moreinsulation in our attic, add insulation in the rafters, and address rodent droppings in the crawl space. When Elmer came out, he took about 30 minutes to walk through the house and gave us a completely different--and much more reassuring--assessment. He identified entry points where rodents were getting into the crawl space, explained that the air ducts did not need to be replaced, and instead recommended insulating the rafters, reinsulating the attic floor, and cleaning and reinsulating the crawl space. He also suggested installing an attic fan to improve air circulation. Throughout the visit, he was straightforward, knowledgeable, and very approachable. We decided to move forward with the attic fan. Umar updated the contract promptly and even came out personally to help program the fan and connect it to my phone. Their team worked tirelessly over four days and did an excellent job. They were professional, detail-oriented, and left the house clean when they were done. We enthusiastically recommend Insulation Alliance. Thank you, Elmer, Umar, and team! ST, Redwood City

That's exactly the type of professional I want because you can tell they truly have your best interests in mind. His team was also great when it came time to do the work. They went extra distances left and right to fix things along the way and point out new issues. Their dust encapsulation and safety gear were very great to see as well because it shows attention to detail along with care for the customers as well as their own employees' health. We ended up with quite a large job with them but I would hire them again for anything I can. Simply exceptional.

They weren't quite as "clean" during the install due to having to grab new materials and put them under the house. It's no wonder they get such good reviews. They took pictures of under my house and the install but I won't bore you with them. As long as the heater works and is more efficient.

They were in and out in a day, made sure not to make a mess on our carpets, and the house has maintained a much more consistent temperature through the most recent heat wave. Nice! There was a little miscommunication about an add-on service, but when you do a few hundred jobs a year a couple of them are gonna go sideways. This add-on wasn't an attic service, and our expectations probably put the job a little outside of their scope, but even so they didn't disappear, they kept saying "We wanna make sure you're happy," and they negotiated a solution that was more than fair. We called Attic Pros…read morewho did a cursory "inspection" and recommended complete replacement of attic insulation, replacement of most A/C duct work in the crawl space below the house, sanitizing, and sealing up "all" entry points for critters. It was very expensive but we went with them mainly because the "inspector" (a salesman through and through) had excellent English and promised to personally manage the project. He answered one subsequent question and then disappeared, never to be heard from again. The estimated 3-day job took 3 weeks, with schedules shifting daily, different crews, minimal work days, redundant and often incorrect communication via text and email, and no explanations of what was going on. The crews were friendly but spoke minimal English. It was difficult to understand what was done, not yet done, or not intended to be done. Once they left, the critters remained. Staff came back 3 or 4 times to seal additional openings ... to the wrong area (crawl space rather than attic). The most recent visit by Jorge was very good. He had good English so his explanations were understandable and helpful. He found and fixed two more openings - these at roof level - and recommended a spray that can repel rodents from returning. I bought and used that (why don't they do that themselves?) and the first night at least was the first "quiet" night in months.
