They were quick and efficient and they left everything clean. They did a great job. They explained what they did and what they saw that might need work And at that point, they walked out the door with a five star review. Here's where it gets dicey. When they came, my flue was open. Being widowed I've learned to make fires but I have never opened or shut the flue. It was open when they got there and when they left the last thing they said was "OK now you can make a fire". But they didn't tell me that they had shut the flue or damper. I didn't know it was a thing until I made a fire and my house filled up with smoke. Opening all the doors and windows didn't work. The fire alarm kept going off. I couldn't make it stop. I shut the glass on the fireplace. Ended up having to call the fire department. I had to get my cats and throw them out in the rain and wait outside. The fire dept confirmed the flue was closed. They opened it and they brought in big fans to air the smoke out of my house. It's still smell smoky. The worst thing is this was super traumatic for me. I didn't know why the house was smoky I didn't know what to do. I didn't have my husband or anyone to help and I was panicked. It was a really horrible experience except for the hot firefighters lol. Based on that they would get zero stars so I gave them 2

Both gentlemen were 5-star courteous and professional. Removal/disconnection/disassembly of my 30+ year old twin stack washer/dryer appliance was not required for vent access. After field inspection of the condo rooftop site and unit appliance location because my dryer vent was a short location from the vent exhaust location (less than 12 LF upward) cleaning from the vent exhaust location was easy and was completed within 15 minutes. Vusal tested the dryer airflow after the cleaning and measured at 6.5 m/s (1280 ft/min). After the vent cleaning, Vusal also cleaned up all the areas where the decades old loose dryer lint that had been extracted/expelled. Afterwards Vusal also was able to recover & retrieve my mini-vacuum extension that had previously fallen down into the vent screen shaft inside the dryer vent system. Workers left project site by about 12:25 pm. For this day and this specific project they get an easy 5-star rating. Paid by check for the quoted amount and I believe all is good. But even after cleaning it out, the smell wasn't going away. Then the vent started giving off either smoke or steam, and in a panic I immediately turned off the dryer. Thank God I didn't start a dryer fire. The second I shut it off and made sure everything was ok, I opened Yelp and searched for a dryer vent cleaner. Chris's Insulation came up, he had great ratings, he was super close by, so after calling a different service and going to voicemail, I called Chris. Chris picked up after the second ring. When I told him that I needed someone to clean our dryer vent and what had happened, he said he could come out either between 5:00 and 6:00 pm that evening or the next day. It was already mid-afternoon when I called, so I was surprised to hear him say he could still come out same-day, but I decided to have him do that since I was free and also still a little shaky following what happened with the vent either smoking or steaming. Chris showed up during the window he quoted and wasted no time getting to work. He started the second he arrived and was done within the hour. His pricing was incredibly reasonable and fair and so far, in the couple of weeks since he was here, we've had no issues with the dryer.
