It replaced the old insulation in my attic; replaced the old insulation on my air ducts and furnace with new reflective foil insulation; and rodent proofed the entire house. The trap door to the attic was split in two, so, as a special request, AA obtained plywood, measured it to fit the opening, painted it and replaced the door. American Attic was professional in regards to the work performed, their communication to us about what was being done and when, and their pricing was very fair. Short version is that our older single story home is now warmer in the winter where I was consistently running our furnace and dehumidifiers. Now thanks to the work done by American Attic, our heater goes off a lot less and the home feels more comfortable throughout the day. We had blown in insulation done in our attic and had insulation batts and vapor barrier installed in our crawl space after we saw them working on a neighbors' property. After speaking with our neighbor, we decided to ask them for an estimate. The owner, Juan, came by and spoke with us personally. He inspected the property and the job and explained what was needed for the job and gave a detailed invoice for the estimate. On top of the insulation and vapor barrier, we got two sub pumps installed as we live on a hill and their was excess water in our crawlspace. I was very impressed with their concern about the level of cleanliness while they were working and after they left. What also impressed me about American Attic was Juan. After the first day when they installed the sub pump, I informed Juan that I had spoken to our neighbor about their exit valve and how they wished that they had chosen something different. Even though my neighbor's job was technically done, and American Attic was paid, Juan made a point to go speak with that neighbor to insure that they were happy. Juan and his team fixed the issue that the neighbor had even though it was the neighbors' choice to have the exit valve positioned where they had it. This showed me a lot about his concern for a customers' level of satisfaction and also the pride he had his his company's work. I contacted American Attic after reading the countless reviews of customer satisfaction. I also researched a little further and discovered that they specialize in Rodent infestations. I emailed Juan (owner) and he responded immediately. He offered a couple of different times for free estimate. The flexibility was a good thing. Upon arrival, I explained my problem. Rat infestation. He checked the interior of the home, including crawl space, exterior of the home and offered a few different solutions to resolve the problem. Once we agreed upon a price, his team arrived on time the following day and worked professionally and expediently through the interior and exterior of the home performing every task that was on the estimate. Lastly, they laid traps throughout the home and provided a plan to follow up for the next three months, no extra charge. The price he gave me included the warrantied work. After checking their stellar reviews on line, I contacted Juan, the owner, who promptly scheduled an appointment, sending his son Luis, who did a complete, mindful and tidy inspection of my project. (Special Note: Luis actually gave about 40 minutes of his time helping me help a neighbor who was in physical distress!!!) I required the addition of insulation, to the attic and within our expanded crawl space of the original section of our 1925 redwood framed/stucco CA cottage, Luis emailed a detailed and fair quote, which considered that my project only required install, no removal, no debris cleaning & no apparent rodent incursion. After quote review, I booked the job. American Attic company is family owned, intentionally kept small and employs a dedicated crew, with one exception; a contract specialist was brought in to properly insulate an attic of an upstairs room, NOT accessible via the larger attic. In this case, small holes were strategically opened in the room's ceiling, so to evenly blow in & distribute the insulation. Good know for neat-niks, those concerned about site cleanliness: Luis' team wore booties over their shoes, taped down a walkway of thick plastic & put up a plastic containment curtain. They also minimized incursion into our home by running the insulation supply hose through a window. This job was completed within 5 hours. Luis was on-site for part of the time to provide job oversight and to answer my questions. I have had experience with many trades people. Most were good or very good.
