I did blow-in attic insulation to R-38 with RB over the insulation in 2019 based on Sam's recommendation. After the new insulation, I didn't feel any difference in house. The new insulation and RB covering didn't change anything in my two-story house. The heater is still running in cold days. Also, Sam told me that they would do EXTRA blow-in on the existing ducts in upper attic; however his team who did the job didn't do EXTRA on the existing ducts. I told them about the extra blow-in and showed them the picture, but they didn't care. Very unprofessional. (Refer to the picture). I would never ever hire Sam for any jobs because I feel that he just tries to sell his "Green" products through his presentation to get the job. We had the attic insulation in our townhouse upgraded by Premium Shield in 2016. Sam and his team did a great job, in and out all in one day. The little debris on floor was vacuumed up by them. We paid extra to have the reflective shield added. Highly recommended as the shield over the insulation keeps heat inside the house in winter, but keeps summer heat in attic from penetrating downwards on hot days. I was super excited to get insulation installed in my home, the meeting with the owner Sam went really well, he explained things thoroughly, showed me pictures of my attic, and told me what to expect. 10/10 for my interaction with him and the product. Where it didn't go well was today during my install, 3 gentlemen showed up on time and did a great job, until the end. As the main gentleman was vacuuming up the insulation that had fallen, he said "I don't know what I am doing, vacuuming is women's work." I was so taken back I didn't know what to say to his caveman views. Looking back the same gentleman also let me know that insulation does not act like a heater or air conditioner. I wonder if he would have told me this if I was male? I have thought about these comments for the last several hours and it sickens me to think that in 2022 I have been made to feel less than, as woman in a house I own. ALL I CAN SAY IS IF YOU DON'T USE PREMIUM SHIELD FOR YOUR INSULATION NEEDS THEN YOU ARE CRAZY.....I was looking for quotes on Yelp last Friday, Premium Shield responded within 30 minutes. I was contacted by Sam who is the Owner/CEO of the company and asked if he could come out on Saturday to give us a quote for the job which of course we agreed to a 10:00 am appointment. Sam showed up fifteen minutes early and was ready to get down to business. What I loved is that Sam brought a demonstration kit that shows you the importance of the heat shield he uses and how it works. The presentation took about 30 minutes and we were educated on how his technology works compared to just the standard blow in the attic insulation. After an hour of hearing about his product and his business it was a done deal....Sam provided us with a quote that was less than two other insulation companies that didn't even provide the heat shield technology in the attic. Sam told us that his team can be at our house on Monday morning at 8am to complete the work, we booked it right there an then......Now to Monday morning.......Chuck and his worker showed up right on time and was ready to get down to business. Chuck was professional and was funny to boot. They starting with blowing insulation into our attic to about 18 inches before installing the roll out heat shield. Everything went perfect from beginning to end.....I AM SO HAPPY THAT WE CHOSE PREMIUM SHIELD to do the job. Sam and his crew did a very good job. Sam's demo and quote were very thorough and easy to understand. Sam himself is a good guy to know. They kept their time frame and left no mess. They even moved a few things around in the attic, which I thought was over and above. Sam came to look in on the crew while they were working. I was very pleased. I highly recommend this product. this last June 18, when the temp was about 100 outside, my indoor temp stayed about 10 degrees cooler than it would otherwise have been. In the past my indoor temp would have been at 89, but it only went up to 79! This is a good investment to help you save energy and stay cool. Sam approached us with a demo and I was very impressed with the all the tips he offered for insulating the house. Ofcourse, we went ahead with insulating the house. I waited for a couple weeks to write to this review so I could firsthand see and feel the difference after we got the insulation done from Premium Shield. Initially our heater used to run every couple minutes and now given the same weather condition, it runs only a few times a day. What a difference, not only saves on my energy bills but my son doesn't have to breathe all that toxic fiber glass insulation that was used for the "existing/virtually non-existing" insulation prior to Premium Shields work. I contacted Sam on a Saturday and he came as soon as he was able to and he was very thorough in identifying the solutions for our dilemma. Sam is a very nice guy, very respectful and very knowledgeable. His contractor Chuck and his installer Teo was very prompt and they finished the job as promised. They cleaned up everything before they left like there were never there. Cost wise, it might be a bit higher than others but you are getting your money's worth. Now my family and I have been enjoying our warm home, less run time of our furnace as the heat stays longer than it used to so it's worth it. They are the best out there. Sam and his team is really great ! They are very professional and don't try to upsell. They know what they are doing and how an insulation can help a house. For us we did it to avoid allergies for our kids and family. But believe me if it was anyone else other than Sam i would have said NO to it. I did this to lower my heating cost over the winter months. Several weeks after the installation, I noticed huge cracks in my kitchen ceiling though no one but the installer of the insulation had been in the upper crawlspace above the kitchen in over 2 &1/2yrs. and it had been painted less than 1&1/2yrs. prior to the installation. So probably the installer stepped off the beam onto the up side of our ceiling. I called the office of the company (Premium Shield) and he sent the owner to look at it. He immediately said, "Not our fault but we can fix it and you pay" in addition to the nearly $4000 we paid for the insulation. We were going to have them repair it but they continuously disregarded our phone calls for an appt. for an estimate. They messed up and cracked our ceiling and will not repair it! I would suggest that if anyone wants insulation in their home, which is the largest investment most of us working class people make, this is not the company I would ever recommend. read more
