Closed-cell spray foam in the crawl space, to include exterior walls, all ducts and pipes under the house as well as removal and disposal of the old batt insulation. Dan, the sales guy, said they don't do written contracts but just verbal agreement. I didn't feel comfortable with that, especially since they guarantee their work for 20 years, so I requested a written contract and warranty papers. Dan said he trusts the workers who do the job and that the workers will complete the job in one day. The reality was quite different from what was promised. Day 1: The workers didn't finish the job, so said they'll come the second day to finish it. Day 2: Out of the 4 hours the workers were here, they'd only worked for about 1.5 hours. They'd spent the remaining time standing around and talking amongst themselves. Something didn't feel right to me because there was a lot more to be done than 1.5 hours worth of work. Therefore, when the workers said they'd finished the job and left, I ended up crawling under the house myself to see what's been done and how since there wasn't an official state or county inspector coming at all to check the job was done to CA code. In other words, the workers performance isn't regulated officially by any governing body, so I had a strong feeling to inspect it myself. My strong intuition was right. The job was sloppy and far from being done. I immediately contacted Dan, the sales guy, and sent him pictures as proof. He contacted the workers and asked them why ducts, pipes, exterior walls were not done and some spots were patchy where the foam wasn't covering the entire structure. The workers had no excuses so said they'll come the third day to finish the job. Day 3: The workers spent close to 4 hours quickly finishing the job after I called them out on their sloppy performance. Dan, the sales guy, felt bad about the bad experience I had. Dan apologized profusely and later came over to inspect the job himself and bring me a few steaks as an apology. P.S. As the foam was drying, so within the first 24 hours, it emitted heat, so I had to lower my thermostat to 3 degrees F lower inside my house but after that, the thermostat was set back to normal temp. The foam is good for sound proofing since I no longer hear the outside noise of the highway or anything else going on outside.

Ask the Community - USA Spray Me

Do you inject spray foam by way of cutting small holes in the drywall, or does the drywall need to be removed completely?

Yes, we can provide this type of service

Is this a 3rd party spray foam company that subs out work or gets a referral fee, or is this an actual spray foam company? It's unclear, and the website has no address in the footer or contact us section, and no CSLB license info.

We are GC, this is our subdivision spray foam insulation, we have all equipment in house. Are you looking to get a quote for your project?

There has been this persistent smell of rodent urine in one of our closets for literally decades, no matter what we have done. Not any more! I could not recommend Rywen Insulation more highly for rodent control work. We've had rodent control people here before, but never at the level that Rywen takes things to. They put in place genuine long-term preventative measures to keep rats and mice out, not just patching holes. And that has made all the difference. No more smell in our under-the-stairs closet! And, I'm not sure if it is always a part of their service, but they offered us a one-year warranty. Rats and mice did return --- probably due to a contractor leaving our crawlspace door open overnight with the lights on, several times (oops). But Rywen took care of the problem immediately, no questions asked and no additional money requested, for the entire year of the warranty. They aren't cheap. But they are soooo worth it.

We had an excellent experience working with Eduardo and his team…read more From the start, Eduardo was incredibly responsive, helpful, and easy to communicate with. We had a pretty large job that included cleaning, rodent-proofing, sanitizing, and re-insulating our attic, as well as cleaning, rodent-proofing, sanitizing, re-running our ducting, and laying plastic in our crawlspace. It was a big project that took about a week, and they showed up on time every single day, checked in regularly, and worked hard throughout. Along the way, we discovered a pipe leak, which they fixed without issue. We also needed to reroute our dryer vent, and they handled that as well. Even with these unexpected additions, Eduardo stuck to his original quote, which we really appreciated. The quality of the work is excellent, and we are very happy with the results. On top of that, Eduardo is coming back in two weeks to make sure the rodent-proofing is fully effective. That level of follow-up and accountability really shows he stands behind his work. Overall, Eduardo went above and beyond. Fair pricing, high-quality work, a professional team, and great communication. We would absolutely recommend him.

Our project manager Samuel Mor who did the initial inspection and coordinated the service went above and beyond to answer my questions, scope the work to meet my needs, and address what was top of mind for me in the job. The estimator's in-person presentation was very good -- professional, clear, and well organized. The overall process was explained pretty well however I needed more info after he left. The one key issue for me was the R-rating and since R-value is a major factor in comparing insulation options, I wanted to understand exactly what was being installed. I tried to follow up with the estimator to get clarification and asked for a call back. While multiple emails were exchanged from what seemed to be the corporate end, there was no actual human interaction, and my request for the estimator to call back failed. Because of that lack of follow-through, I ultimately decided to go with another vendor who was more responsive. AttiCare made a good first impression, but communication after the initial visit failed. I wouldn't proceed without speaking to the estimator. They lost a job due to that.

Gabriel, the owner, came out to do the…read moreinspection himself, and gave me tons of information about the differences and the pros and cons of each type insulation, and giving us a quote on the spot. We initially agreed to have both the attic and the crawl space insulated. When I told Gabriel that the kitchen fan is currently venting into the attic, and that we need to find a roofer to make a hole to vent it outside, he offered to connect the fan to an existing fan, at no charge. We later changed our minds about the attic and decided to just have the crawl space insulated for the time being. But Gabriel insisted on fixing the kitchen vent anyway, even though his men no longer needed to climb in the attic at all. I protested, but he said he'd agreed to do it, so he will, still at no cost. I was flabbergasted by his generosity. The three young men who work for him were all sweet, polite, and arrived early, and left the place spotless, both inside and out. (As opposed to another company whose inspector left muddy footprints all over the beige carpet, even after I laid down some newspapers.) I can't recommend Gabriel and his company enough. He treats his customers as if we were family. Oh, and there's ALWAYS a nice secretary, Jesiemae, who answers the phone and books you an appointment on the spot. No annoying voicemail tags. Thank you, Gabriel and your staff, for letting us start the new year in a warmer house!

I was initially impressed with what seemed like a thorough and well-considered estimate. It felt…read morelike the team really evaluated my attic and cooling needs. The addition of two QuietCool fans also seemed like a major plus, as I was already familiar with the product and expected it would significantly help with cooling. When it came to the insulation work, I was very pleased. The crew did an excellent job removing the old insulation and installing the new. They worked efficiently, protected my floors well, and ensured that no insulation debris entered the living areas. That part of the job was handled professionally. However, I was less impressed with the radiant barrier installation. This may partly be due to a misunderstanding on my end, as I expected a different type of material, but the end result did not meet my expectations. The biggest issue, unfortunately, was the installation of the fans. At best, it was very poorly executed. The fans are 16" units with 12" duct openings, yet they were installed directly against the gables, which severely restricts airflow. Proper installation should have included a box or shroud to help direct airflow effectively through the fans. Because of this poor airflow, the fans do not cool the attic--in fact, they appear to make things worse. I can actually watch the temperature on the thermostat increase when the fans are turned on. I reached out to my representative multiple times, but the response was disappointing. I was told they could not take the fans back, and when I asked why the attic temperature increases when they are running, I was told there was no explanation and nothing further could be done. As temperatures continue to rise, I'm left frustrated that I spent $1,200 on two fans that perform the opposite of what was promised, with no meaningful support or resolution offered. UPDATE: After posting my initial review, I was contacted by both the project manager and the owner. I reiterated the reasons for my frustration, explaining that my review reflected my honest impression of what I saw as a lack of clear communication and effective management of the project and customer expectations. The project manager apologized for the communication breakdown and asked if I would be open to giving them an opportunity to make things right. A technician was then sent out, and he took the time to fully understand the issue, carefully examine the installation, and make several adjustments to the original work. He believes these changes will help improve airflow in the attic. Since my attic has some unique characteristics, he also provided helpful suggestions for additional ways to improve cooling and airflow--something I feel should have been addressed during the initial planning stage of the project. Whether these changes will result in significant improvement remains to be seen; I'll have a better sense once the weather warms up. I do appreciate the follow-up and the willingness of the project manager to reach out and try to make things right, and I have updated my review accordingly. That said, I want to be clear that the increase in my rating is largely due to the technician and the time he invested in evaluating the full situation, as well as both implementing and proposing thoughtful solutions.
