Sit back. This is gonna take a bit. Don't want to miss any details. Two days ago, my Acer laptop's power port broke, so I immediately ordered the correct replacement part online to be shipped overnight, and I moved all my important files to an external hard drive before the battery dropped to 0%. After getting a few estimates from other businesses in the area, I contacted ACP and outlined the issue. They quoted me a low price and an hour for installation, so I brought it in immediately. yesterday. Rajeev called me after an hour or so to let me know that the part needed to be micro-soldered. I already knew this in advance. He then informed me that he didn't know how to do it, but there was "a guy upstairs above [him]" who could. After quoting me $200, I let him know there was another repair shop who had quoted me $150, and, after a brief consultation away from the phone, he offered to match their quote. I gave the go-ahead to fix it, with the understanding that it would take a couple of hours. This morning, I went to the shop to pick up the computer. He showed me how the port was repaired, and I saw that the charger indeed fit in the port. My laptop wouldn't start when I pressed the power button. At that moment, Rajeev informed me, "Your computer won't start up. You're going to have to re-install Windows via a USB flash drive." Confused, I asked him to plug in the charger so I could start it while it was charging. It initially booted up, then displayed a "Security Boot Fail" error and wouldn't start up any further. He refused to accept any responsibility for the problem and said, "It's YOUR laptop. It must have been already like this when you brought it in. I just fixed the power port like you said." I was frustrated - it's my work computer - I've got a backup, but it's not as fast and awesome as this one. I'm not ridiculously tech-savvy, and was VERY unhappy that I might lose all the purchased software and settings I still had downloaded on my computer. After I told him that I had no idea of how to even get Windows on a flash drive to install it, he suggested that he could do it, but he would charge me $150 to do so. "But then it's wiped clean! I have programs on there that I need! I don't want to start from scratch!" I balked. "If you would like to make sure all of that is restored, we can do it, but then it will cost another $100." I was irate. "My computer was fine before I brought it in! Running great! No problems!" "Well, you called me...you had a broken power port." "Yes, but the power port has nothing to do with the rest of the computer. You guys had to have done something that triggered this. It wasn't like this." "All we did was fix the power port. This is YOUR computer." "So, you'd charge me $250 to simply get my computer back and running in the condition it was in before I brought it to you? I technically just paid $150 to have a working power port on a NOW-BROKEN AND USELESS computer?" I told him it was akin to holding my computer for ransom - and remarked that it was like bringing a car in to get the brakes fixed, and then coming back to find the right side of it smashed in, but him telling me that the brakes are now working perfectly. Rajeev shrugged and shook his head. I paid the $150 by credit card, which came out in two separate transactions of $100 and $50. When I asked him why it was in two separate transactions, he said, "I forgot and put in $100." Interesting, as he had initially planned to charge me $200. My guess is that $50 goes to him and $100 goes to "the guy upstairs." I left, panicked, thinking that I now had a useless computer that I would need to replace and have everything re-installed on by Monday. Getting home, I looked up "Security Boot Fail" on Google, which gave me direct instructions and a YouTube video showing me how to press F2 at startup, enter the Boot submenu, and change a few settings. I restarted the computer, and, voila. ZERO PROBLEMS. BACK TO NORMAL. What ACR wanted to charge me $250 EXTRA DOLLARS FOR, I was able to do in a period of FIVE MINUTES. It was an easy fix, but unless you KNOW exactly what to do, you'd think your computer was scrap metal. If he wanted to provide good customer service, he could have walked me through it right there at the counter. Because I know that's exactly what they would have done if I had left my computer with them. I wonder how many people who wouldn't know where to look for answers have fallen prey to Rajeev's insane scam. Two stars, because the power port works great now. But BUYER BEWARE. They will try to upcharge you a ridiculous amount.

A bad policy adopted by one or everyone is still bad policy. My plan price dropped by more than half. It as that way for 9 months while i paid the old price. I had had calls with them and never was it mentioned we have a better plan / pricing for you if you're interested (many other companies ask this but not all). Only when i tried to cancel: The website MADE me call. Then of course they have wonderful pricing all of a sudden. Not only did they try to promote this dishonest practice, the level of attitude, i guess maybe they don't like it for a customer to criticize a policy. In any event..i'd rather pay more than the new price they finally offered than pay a clearly dishonest company any more money. My new plan is less than my original price with Frontier but more than what they offered to avoid my cancellation by $10/month. Money well spent. -sun 2026

Anyone thinking about switching to Frontier (by Verizon)? Do yourself a favor and don't…read more We switched to Frontier (by Verizon). What's mess. Worked for several months. Then out of the blue, zero services - no Internet (we have jobs and kids who need access for school) and since TV came over the line, none of that either. Every morning, noon and evening I'd get a text saying restoration of service by X (i.e. 4pm the same day). After a day or two that showed itself to be a straight lie. No human to talk to on the phone, either. This baiting fraud went on for two weeks until we switched back to Spectrum. They owed me $7.01 per their recurring bill and kept it for months and months instead of just sending me a check. Eventually they sent a prepaid MasterCard I never requested containing my $7.01 which, if I activated, screwed me over with annual fees, etc. I finally got in touch with someone in the Philippines who said they'd send me a check; haven't gotten it yet - been about a week. Frontier is about the worst company with which i've had the displeasure of doing business. Shady and unfair business practices at every turn, in my view. Stay always unless you're a masochistic glutton for punishment. Consider yourself warned.

We recently updated all of our phones and added Phone Answering Service App. It was the best decision we could have made. Franklin at FTS customized our recorded greetings to go on at specific times, as our office hours vary, this ensures that our patients can reach a medical professional at any time, which is incredibly reassuring to our patients and us. Our new office phones have great features, but the best is the mobile app, we are able to go on exchange by changing a setting in app from our cell phones (no more worrying about forgetting to put phones on exchange, or thinking "did I put us on exchange?!"). Through the app we are able to call patients from our mobile phones without showing our phone number, the number that shows on caller ID is our business name and phone. This comes in handy when we work remotely. I highly recommend FTS, Franklin and staff. Great customer service and prompt attention. The call handling is efficient, and the staff are knowledgeable and professional.

This was one of the most frustrating Verizon experiences I've had…read more I came into the store to upgrade two of my kids' phones. I was told that in order to receive the full promotional credit for the new phones, I first needed to pay off the remaining balances on their current phones. Based specifically on that information, I paid off both phones. Only after I made those payments was I told that the promotion had apparently ended the day before and that I would now only receive about 50% of the value instead of the full promotional credit. To me, that felt like misinformation and a bait-and-switch. If I had been told upfront that I would only receive about half of the expected credit, I would not have paid off both of my kids' phones. I then spoke with Gema, the senior manager, and explained that because I made those payments based on incorrect information from the store, I wanted the situation corrected. I told her that if Verizon could not reimburse the payoff amounts, then I was asking for an account credit instead. Gema refused and said she could not do that. Her only offer was a very small credit. What made the experience even more disappointing was that no one apologized for giving us the wrong information in the first place. There was no real acknowledgment that we had made a financial decision based on what their employee told us. Because the store would not reasonably resolve it, we contacted Verizon Corporate directly. Corporate advised us that, as a senior manager, Gema did in fact have the authority to issue an appropriate account credit to help resolve the situation. In the end, Corporate stepped in and resolved the issue for us. Mistakes happen, but when a customer makes a financial decision based on information provided by your employees, management should make a reasonable effort to correct it -- and at the very least acknowledge and apologize for the misinformation. Instead, we had to escalate the issue to Corporate to get a resolution that could have been handled at the store level. Very disappointing experience.
