I was told I would receive a call with an update the day after I brought it in. These guys had my PC for five days with no communication whatsoever. I can't get ahold of anyone over the phone, so I go in physically and ask what's up. They had misplaced my information and hadn't started working on the PC. Fine. I show them my info and leave them to it. Four more days pass. No call, no email. I go in again. What's up guys? They've eliminated one possible source of the problem, no dice. They act busy, tell me they'll call me with an update soon. For real this time, I guess. Two more days. I call them. Turns out they have been stuck and need my bitlocker password now, I'm happy to provide it and they tell me to wait for an email from them and then reply to it with the key. No problem. I wait for three hours before going over and hand-delivering it to them. They're working on eliminating a second possible source of the issue, and it's looking promising. Excellent. Before they close that evening I go in to see if it's solved, and I'm told that the yep, it's a faulty graphics card: they'd plugged in a different one and had no freezing issues. Great! All I need to do is take the PC home, get a new card, and we're good. I pay them $35 and I'm on my way. Though as I'm watching them go to unhook their test card, I notice that their test monitor definitely looks frozen. But they're the experts. Get home. Before I drop $800 on a new card, my spidey sense tingles, and I remember I do have an old graphics card on hand. Put it in my machine, just to see. Still freezes. So nearly two weeks went by between when I brought them my PC and when they incorrectly told me what the issue was. They are probably great if you don't know how to change your facebook password, but I would absolutely not take your stuff to them if you have anything more serious than that. Unless you like babysitting grown men, in which case you can probably still find a better way to get your fix.

What had happened was that I had bought a new laptop from LG (~9 months ago) and its' performance was just so weirdly slow from the time I brought it home. In particular, the proxy setting just would not turn off no matter how many times I disabled it. Plus, the PC performance was horrifically slow. Not a good sign and I did a lot of malware scans with no luck on finding any issue. Finally, I got fed up and, after a bit of research, I found Allstate. The guy at the repair shop was super nice and attentive to my observations. The end result was excellent - all the issues were fixed (proxy and computer speed) and my PC is as it should be - fast and efficient and it has been 3 months of excellent performance. So if you crack it, just go back and get a replacement protector. But from the quality, it doesn't seem you will be making many visits to utilize the warranty. Pro tip: schedule this service around lunch time and go to the restaurant across the street for yummy eats while you wait.

He told…read moreme he had a refurbished original iPhone 15 Pro Max screen in stock and said he could show it to me because it had very minimal scratching. That gave me confidence that I was getting a genuine refurbished original Apple display. When I arrived, he showed me the screen, it looked good, and I agreed to pay $199. The installation took about 20 minutes. After repair, I noticed that the phone did not recognize the display as an original Apple component in Settings, which was not normal and raised concerns about what was actually installed. When I raised this issue to Shakeet he said "Oh you can just ignore that." Whatever.... About 20 minutes after leaving the shop and using my phone normally, half of the display turned completely white. The phone had not been dropped or damaged. I returned the very next morning 10am as soon as they opened and showed Shakeed the screen. He made big dramatic eyes at me and his first response was, "What did you do?" I said, "What do you mean, what did I do? Nothing. The screen just failed. I don't think this was worth 199!" He smiled, and said "Ok take a seat." After 20 minutes he came back out and demanded, "Brother, you have to pay me $55 to do this repair because I think you dropped the phone as soon as you left here." I was STUNNED. Absolutely flabbergasted. The phone had NOT been dropped, and the screen had failed within about 20 minutes of installation. At that point, I lost my temper and screamed, "Give me back my f______g phone! I'm taking it to Apple! Don't touch my phone! Give it back right now!" He continued insisting that I had dropped the phone, and I kept yelling, "Give me back my f______g phone! I did not f______g drop my phone!" I continued demanding my phone back until finally other staff members intervened. Then without asking, they removed the refurbished original screen and installed a DIFFERENT display that they described as an OLED screen, but they still charged me the full amount I had originally paid for the refurbished APPLE screen. In other words, I paid for one product and left with a cheaper/different one. I have read several of their reviews online where they have done this exact same thing to other customers as well. Ie: They replace the screen and then shortly after the customer gets home the screen stops working. The customer then goes back in and then they try to charge the customer again to replace or downgrade the screen. I think this is a scam they are engaging in and I think they are doing this on purpose to milk more profits from the original sale. I am now disputing the $205 charge with my credit card company. A screen that fails within about 20 minutes should be covered under a repair warranty, not blamed on the customer. Instead of standing behind their work, I was accused of damaging my own phone WITHOUT ANY EVIDENCE, just a baseless accusation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business. Furthermore, like every phone repair kiosk on Venice or at the strip malls there are no prices listed anywhere. Huge red flag. You will get scammed if you come here. He was working in the crawl space while we were home (not easy working conditions). It took about 9 hours start to finish. After 1 month I am satisfied with the results. My speeds went from about 75 mbps to roughly 250 mbps avg, sometimes as high as 500. I would do business again in the future.
