The contractor had no clue how to fix this and we were left without reliable internet. After reaching out to many services, Mendel was first to respond. He perfectly understood the issue and offered to come immediately, early AM on a weekend no less, and at a VERY reasonable hourly rate. When he showed up, it was clear why he named his service "Friendly" as he's the nicest person I have met. He immediately identified the issues, involved me in the process, and managed within an hour (not all day as I had worried) fix everything. You can see it in my photo below. This was a total disaster, but to him it was a walk in the park. Mendel had a huge vehicle full of every imaginable IT gear as well. On the morning of the 15th, I texted my arrival time a few hours in advance, to which he never replied. I arrived at the shop with my laptop, and the employee working said there was no order for me, which was confusing because the owner had been so communicative. He said he would order the part and it would be there later that week and I agreed to come back. I got a text confirmation with my order number and everything. Fast forward a week and a half: silence. Nothing. I replied to the order confirmation text asking if it had arrived, and I don't know if it went through or not, but it's just weird they wouldn't have the part by now or some kind of update. I gave up, bought a kit on Amazon for $35, and installed it myself in 10 minutes. I don't know where this project fell apart, but if the shop didn't want to take it on, they could have declined it. I'm just confused by lack of follow-through because they have so many good reviews, and I thought I had done everything I could, both in person and online, to confirm I wanted the service.

Shady business practices…read more Took my laptop for a water spill repair, they told me the motherboard was not repairable, and the drive was toast without a chance to get back my old data. While i do believe them about the motherboard, i put the drive on my desktop computer and its working completely fine. I'm even writing this review on the drive they told me didn't work anymore and needed a replacement. The quote they gave me for a drive replacement was $200 FOR A DRIVE THAT COST ME $70 ON AMAZON... WITHOUT SAVING MY OLD DATA!!! all for a drive that is still working perfectly fine with all my data intact. Avoid this place. UPDATE: Turns out while my main usb-c charging port was not working, the secondary one still works, AND ITS ABLE TO CHARGE MY LAPTOP! I'm currently writing this review on the very same laptop they told me the motherboard was fried. So the only issue was literally 1 (one) usb-c port. If I could leave 0 starts I would. Waste of $40 for the diagnostic. Do not come near this place.
