Due to an unexpected emergency, I had to leave town the same day and did not return until January 22, 2026, during which time my computer remained unused at home. On January 26, 2026, I powered on my laptop and it immediately shut off. I returned to the shop to explain the issue. They kept my computer and later told me they had "good news and bad news." The good news was that the screen still worked. The bad news was that the motherboard was damaged. Concerned, I took my laptop to the Apple Store for a second opinion. Apple advised me that the most recent party to service the device is typically responsible for internal damage of this nature. I attempted to reconcile the situation with the shop, but the experience was extremely disappointing. Staff were dismissive, walked away from me, and were unwilling to have a productive conversation. The customer service at this point was very poor. Later, I received an email offering 50% off a motherboard replacement. This offer felt like an acknowledgment that something went wrong during the original repair, yet no full responsibility was taken. While the service initially seemed professional when payment was being made, that professionalism disappeared when an issue arose. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business. I strongly advise others to consider alternative repair shops in the Southgate area.

I had been experiencing thermal issues with my new i7-14700K build and decided to bring it to HeliX…read morePC after seeing all the positive reviews. Garnik, the owner, exceeded every expectation. I dropped off my PC at 10 AM and he had it completely diagnosed and fixed by 3:30 PM - same day service when most shops would have kept it for days. But what really impressed me was how Garnik actually took the time to explain everything instead of just doing the work and handing it back. He didn't just slap on new thermal paste and call it done. He properly reapplied the paste, then noticed my fan configuration was all wrong and moved everything to the correct CPU pump headers and fan headers. He walked me through exactly what was causing the thermal problems and how he fixed them, then stress tested the whole system right in front of me so I could see it was running properly. Garnik was super knowledgeable, friendly, and got everything done way faster than I expected. It's honestly rare to find someone who knows their stuff this well and actually takes the time to make sure you understand what's going on with your build. I got a response first thing in the morning, I brought it in at 10:30 and he had it done by 4:30 same day, even though he said he wasn't sure he could get it done til the next business day. Also as someone who just has a casual knowledge of all this stuff, I was kind of afraid of being judged for my choices and abilities if I brought it in somewhere, but Garnik was SUPER nice and friendly, and even though my issue ended up being a return fraud SSD situation, he fixed up my wiring, installed windows, and basically got my whole rig into working shape, which was such a relief after struggling for so long. He even gave me an adapter for my old DVI port cintiq monitor. Along with lots of helpful advice. Even though I hope I don't run into issues like this any time soon, I'm a customer for life! The dead computer was back up and running within minutes of my arrival. It was amazing. Dell had told me that the desktop could not be repaired for a reasonable price and that I needed to buy a new one. It turned out that a Dell bios upgrade had gone bad and literally burned up the two video cards in the PC. Martin had it booted and running before Cody and I were even done talking. The clone job was to take a couple of days to get the new SSD drive and clone it. In fact, Cody called the next morning and said it was done and ready to be picked up. This company is absolutely amazing. Their service goes beyond all expectations. And the price they charged was most reasonable. I highly recommend them. They are network specialists too.
