What had happened was that I had bought a new laptop from LG (~9 months ago) and its' performance was just so weirdly slow from the time I brought it home. In particular, the proxy setting just would not turn off no matter how many times I disabled it. Plus, the PC performance was horrifically slow. Not a good sign and I did a lot of malware scans with no luck on finding any issue. Finally, I got fed up and, after a bit of research, I found Allstate. The guy at the repair shop was super nice and attentive to my observations. The end result was excellent - all the issues were fixed (proxy and computer speed) and my PC is as it should be - fast and efficient and it has been 3 months of excellent performance. So i googled "computer repair near me" and thankfully, Ben's store was right at the TOP! ... So I called Ben, and he said "free estimate" (music to my ears) and bring it right over! WOWWWWWWWW! So I was there within the hour and because I'm disabled, Ben was kind enough to remove the computer from my minivan. He agreed with me that it was likely the power supply, but to be sure, he said "I'm going to hook it up and test it." My computer ... TURNED ON! Best part, the amount I paid was the quoted amount they estimated. Took a few days to get all of the parts from the various online retailers, and less than 2 hours to put it all together. I was in awe, I thought it would have taken much longer to build a computer from store bought parts. After building the computer I have had him give me all sorts of advice on maintenance, security and even additional add-ons that aren't necessarily part of the computer, such as speakers. A+ service, and reasonably priced. I've been to several "computer expert" shops and they all wanted to charge in the hundreds for any small service, and half the time they didn't even seem to know what they were talking about.
