The contractor had no clue how to fix this and we were left without reliable internet. After reaching out to many services, Mendel was first to respond. He perfectly understood the issue and offered to come immediately, early AM on a weekend no less, and at a VERY reasonable hourly rate. When he showed up, it was clear why he named his service "Friendly" as he's the nicest person I have met. He immediately identified the issues, involved me in the process, and managed within an hour (not all day as I had worried) fix everything. You can see it in my photo below. This was a total disaster, but to him it was a walk in the park. Mendel had a huge vehicle full of every imaginable IT gear as well. What had happened was that I had bought a new laptop from LG (~9 months ago) and its' performance was just so weirdly slow from the time I brought it home. In particular, the proxy setting just would not turn off no matter how many times I disabled it. Plus, the PC performance was horrifically slow. Not a good sign and I did a lot of malware scans with no luck on finding any issue. Finally, I got fed up and, after a bit of research, I found Allstate. The guy at the repair shop was super nice and attentive to my observations. The end result was excellent - all the issues were fixed (proxy and computer speed) and my PC is as it should be - fast and efficient and it has been 3 months of excellent performance. I moved my business to Torrance 16 years ago. Shortly thereafter I found myself in a true pickle regarding the set up of a new computer and the repair of my existing one. I was totally without a computer! Being new to the Torrance area, I had no experience regarding the best repair shop was available; by chance I got lucky and found PC Parlor on Hawthorne Boulevard. I have been using their excellent and fair services ever since. I would never use another computer service. Tony and the PC Parlor technicians have never-ever let me down - no matter how busy they are when I call with a problem they always make themselves available for me; whether on line or by coming directly to my office location on Pacific Coast Hwy. Not only is the total staff extremely knowledgeable about computers they always treat their clients with respect and courtesy. They do not waste time but get quickly and thoroughly to solving my problems; whether it may be a software or hardware problem; and this also includes instructions; I would never hesitate to recommend PC Parlor for any computer equipment repair whatsoever - Throughout the years I have found out that there is no computer problem that they cannot solve. Good people reasonable prices satisfied Totally worth the peace of mind to pay for quality work that comes with a guarantee for the work they do. I was recommended here by a friend. My buddy built a gaming desktop for me last year, in exchange for pizza and beer. A mutual friend "borrowed" it without permission, then conveniently was never home for me to pick it up... three months later the computer was rescued by the buddy who built it. It then had a bad habit of not wanting to turn on until i booked an appointment to take it in. Finally it died when it was absolutely vital. Brought it in to the shop, people were friendly, the bird was entertaining, and i was helped in a reasonable time. They plugged it in to see if they could recreate the problem, luckily it did. Told me the rate and what process they would take to deconstruct my pc till they found the kink. I received a call the next day, told me they found the problem and that they would email me a quote for the repair. I didn't hear from them for a day, so I called them and they apologized, put me on the line with a tech who told me the cost for a new part and instillation. Very satisfied with the work they did... i'm writing this review on it as we speak. read more

They helped me save my 1st Alien Ware laptop when all of my 3D software was pushing it to its melting point, and my custom built desktop 10 years later keeping the invaluable equipment my livelihood in 3D freelancing depends on. They were able to go beyond what Best Buy 's Geek Squad barely would help me with, in transferring the volume of data I work with in projects, and fixing my more custom builds for studio work. Best buy had to charge me an extra $400 to use their highest level of repair to recover my data, where as PC Parlor did it with ease for only the cost of the external 4TB back up drive. The guys at Pc Parlor knew exactly what was wrong, where as the Geek Squad told me my Alienware was too uncommon for them to look into, past initial stat readings, and to contact Alienware's support for help, when I still didnt even know the motherboard had melted. PC Parlor saved me a lot of money just being candid about the best course of action for my computer needs. I always trust going to them first to help me out with my PCs. read more

Went in today with what I thought was a "software" issue that turned out to have a simple fix. I had already been to the Geek Squad and had I gone back to them, it would have been $249.99 to fix a problem that didn't even exist. The issue? I couldn't connect to my browser or access any links although I was able to get email, and information for "trending searches", etc. I tried multiple things: rebooting, allowing the battery to completely drain and leave unplugged for over 24 hours, uninstalled the recent Windows Security update, etc. The one thing I didn't do was reset my Wi-Fi. With 2 computers, several Cell phones, and multiple devices using Wi-Fi it just didn't cross my mind that would be the issue. This was the first time I have used PC Parlor, but I can guarantee it won't be the last. After 5 minutes and then a short drive home, my problem was solved. You have gained a lifelong customer. I really needed help with my computer. It was running slow and kept crashing every time I tried to open a program. I was fed up and called PC Parlor. They told me to come in with the PC and they would get me sorted. Once I got there, they asked me some questions and informed me I had an old HDD and it was failing. Upgrading to a Solid State Drive would make things run smoother and make the computer feel new again. They informed me of the price and time frame, I agreed and left. I came back when they called me and told me it was ready for pick up. The computer is great now! They made a copy of my original Hard drive so nothing changed but the performance is noticeable. I had taken my old Macbook that had crashed to another place first to ask them to recover my data to an external drive so that everything could be transferred to my new PC. They totally messed up (but still took my money) so I went to PC Parlor on Vista Montana in Torrance instead asking for help. I was greeted by Ivan and Tony who took their time and went above and beyond to explain what needed to be done regarding reformatting the drive etc. Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional guys! Our computer had lost a few features, i.e. CD ripping, flash drive loading. It was slow loading, and and the CD holder would not open. I spent two days trying to get it working. My wife also spent a full day on it. I called P.C Parlor and the tech (Ivan) gave me some guidance on how to get it to work. I tried and tried but it was not helping. We finally gave up and took it to the shop. Ivan took the machine and hooked it up, and told me what was wrong with it, without opening it. The next day we got a call that it was ready. They put in a solid state hard drive and a replacement CD holder. The most surprising part of this adventure was, that the bill wasn't huge. We started going to P.C. PC Parlor is awesome! I have used them a couple times and was completed thrilled with the outcome. The first time, they were able to retrieve several thousand precious pictures from over 15 from a damaged and corrupted thumb drive. I just took a new laptop used for my small business into their office to have them set up my new laptop just like my old laptop which is setup very complex & specific. They were actually able to conduct a 100% clone with all apps, files, desktop, functions, saved shortcuts, bookmarks and everything else exactly like my old laptop and exactly in the same position and location within the new laptop. Wonderful place to conduct business. When it comes to computer repair the most important part of the customer experience to me is whether I have confidence that the person on the other side is telling me the truth. Ivan tested my PC in front of me before he charged me a dime to make sure he can reproduce the problem I was reporting. He even took the cover of my case off to see whether we could do it and then he told me about the intricacies of the order that BIOS fires up to explain what the issue was. They have helped me with my network stations and making sure my Quick Book program runs smooth between 3 computers. I have brought in my computers for upgrades, memory and hard drives. I took a brand-new Lenovo desktop to Tony's PC Parlor today in their new location along with my old Dell desktop. I wanted all of the programs and data transferred exactly (2 drives) as is over onto the new machine. Hoping against hope, I asked for it to be done in one day! Imagine my surprise when they called me at 4:30 in the afternoon and said it was ready... I couldn't believe it. Instead of trying to sell me on an expensive repair, they were straight with me and told me exactly what I needed to hear: the repair wasn't worth the cost and I'd be better off putting that money toward a newer machine. A little later I had a similar issue with a broken iPad. Again, they were completely upfront that repairing it wouldn't make financial sense. Rather than trying to make a quick buck, they helped me find a newer used model at a great price and even had it ready for me before a business trip when I really needed it. It's rare to find businesses that are more concerned about helping the customer than maximizing a sale. These guys have earned my trust, and that's why I'll keep coming back.
